Audio streaming to car via USB? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

One of the only things I miss about my iPhone is the ability to connect it to my car via USB and listen to my music. So far, the G2 doesn't support this. I have heard JB enabled USB audio streaming, but I just can't get it to work.
Any suggestions?

[Q] Host Music through USB with JB 4.2

Hello,
I've been searching, reading and trying for some time with no luck, so I'm now asking for direct help here.
I was a happy iPhone (several models) owner for at least 6 years, but recently changed to a Samsung Galaxy S4 and I must say this phone beats the IP in almost every single aspect. I have nevert missed my IP, except when connecting it to my Cars sound system or my home sound system. With the IP, both systems did recognize all the music, playlists, tags info ... everything, and the same happens when connecting an external HDD through USB connection ........ but with the SGS4 now the only way to play my phone music is through plug connection, which has lower quality, doesn't charge the phone while playing ... you know the drill.
Do you know any way, application, widget, USB configuration ... something that would allow this magnificent phone to host music to sound systems through USB connection?
Thank you very much in advance
No one with this problem?, or even better, with a solution?
This phone has:a)aptx bluetooth codec b) usb audio output. Both of these are high quality audio solution.
How I use these: for my car...I bought an accesory from htc...which connect to my aux imput to my sony explode ( this can be applied to any home receiver with an aux imput) and usb output ....I bought fiio e17 alpen as an external dac/headphone amplifier. As a software solution...you can use any DNLA app to acces your music from you S4...(like airplay into IOS)

Wow sounds like you need a video converter box that will give you audio seperate from video. You can't use bluetooth speakers. I tried that to get better audio. The only other thing you could try is a speaker plugged into the headphone jack.

Yeah i wanted better sound so I tried using a bluetooth speaker but it didn't work.
Oh btw you have no audio outputs in your tv? Not sure what soneone would be thinking to make a tv with no speakers and hdmi as well.
I have this problem too. I need to play my sound through Bluetooth speakers but Miracast will not allow me to do so. Interestingly, my Sony Xperia Z was an exception. It allowed me to play into Miracast and Bluetooth speakers at the same time, so I am convinced that it is a software implementation issue. Unfortunately, the Sony Z will disconnect me from wifi internet whenever Miracast is working.

SORRY, I spoke too soon... Sony Xperia Z (Android 4.3) does NOT allow the Bluetooth speakers to work together with Miracast either, although it DID work before. Whatever it is, in all summary, Miracast does NOT work with Bluetooth speakers! (or 3.5mm audio headset)
The sound is being sent to the tv as it is supposed to be. You need to pull the audio from there.

I"m just now learning about miracast, could those of you who use it explain it a little?
If I understand it correctly, even if your tv doesn't have any built in ability I can buy a dongle and make it work?
Also, this will allow me to play videos from my tablet SD card to the tv, not just stream vids like chromecast?
Again, Allcast + Chromecast (or Roku, console, or smart TV). Stream whatever you want to tv,

I thought Chromecast only let you stream Netflix and YouTube or other online movies. So you're saying the allcast app will work with Chromecast and allow me to watch movies saved on SD card?
Looks like I'm going to try the all cast/ chrome cast route next. I tried a slimport dongle from amazon, saw my screen for a second. Next tried a netgear miracast ptv3000, could only connect for a couple seconds and then lost the connection. Why is something that should be so simple so flipping difficult?

Some miracasts work with some tvs , same with slimport. Kinda a crap shoot . wish I didn't have to get them online and wait for mail to see if they work. Lol. Not many stores have them. Best buy has one sad little google display with n7 2013 n5 and chromecast.. . that's it. Ha
The chromecast/allcast app combo is working perfectly. Setting up the chromecast was easy, way easier than the netgear setup. My n7 connected right away and using the allcast app is very easy. I've been watching video for a solid hour now with no stutters or interruptions. For a total of $40 it's definitely worth it, thank you for the suggestion.

Thanks Player911, this app is awesome but still no hope for games....:crying:
1. I am using a monitor, not a TV. So thereis no "Audio Out".
2. I want to use Miscast, not Chrome cast. NOT interested in Chrome cast. Thank you for your understanding.

USB audio out to car?

The only thing I miss about my iPhone is the ability to control my music through my car in-dash. I have read that USB audio streaming has been enabled in jellybean, but I have yet to see it work in my car. Is it the LG G2 it self? When I used to connect my Nexus 4 it detected it as a usb device but no audio, but the G2 doesn't even get detected...just charges the phone. And yes I have tried switching between the usb modes in PC connections tab.
any suggestions or apps?
Safe to assume that you do not have BT capabilities in your car?

Sounds better through USB plus it charges my phone.
And no bt for music, only calls

[Q] USB Dock Audio

I am sorry if this was already answered but I have been searching both the forums here at XDA and on Google and I cannot find my answer. Am I the only one that is wondering about USB Dock Audio? I am coming from a Samsung Galaxy SIII and with the car dock, you simply plugged it in and it would charge and play any audio through my car speakers. I cannot seem to get this work on the LG G2. I have the official car dock from Verizon (Of course it doesn't come with any charging cables or anything) and I am trying to use the microUSB media cable. Any help?
MPT mode for stored music. There is no mode for live playing audio through usb, that's what aux is for. Sometimes takes a few connects to read with no error. Beginning to think debugging is fooling around with it, to lazy to troubleshoot.

I unfortunately do not store music locally (Google Play Music). I have read online that they down sample the audio through USB:
http://www.whathifi.com/news/lg-confirms-details-of-hi-res-audio-playback-on-g2-phone
Also, if there was no support for audio through USB, how would this work:
http://www.verizonwireless.com/accessories/lg-g2-media-charging-dock/
I am so confused by this...
EDIT: Unless the dock doesn't have a speaker like my XOOM dock:
http://smartphonepedia.com/motorola-xoom-speaker-dock.html
1. The necessary software for connections isn't available unless the file is locale. There is no usb live feed.
2. Phone speaker or aux. No speaker. More for alarm, desk clock, and charging.

No, it's not, and that's quite an ignorant answer.
OP, you might be interesting in checking out the GROM-AND2 or GROM-USB2P adapters:
http://www.gromaudio.com/
He was looking for a native way to do so, and there Isn't. If you know how without third party software or hardware please explain. I would appreciate it myself. The music streaming oh that looks for Bluetooth. Otherwise reads phone as drive, which most head units are pre equipped to do.

USB Mass Storage for Car Stereo

Just picked up the G2 a couple days ago. I've owned an Android before but never got into the rooting and rom flashing process. My problem is mostly that I used my iPhone in my car (a Kenwood head unit) for the stereo. I was able to control the music and sounds via the phone. However, the G2 doesn't work this way. Most I can get so far is the ability to select and play songs via the headunit, which with 1000+ songs is extremely inconvenient. I owned a Samsung Infuse years ago and that was able to work, but it was done by selecting USB Mass Storage I believe. I've done some research but I can't seem to find a straight answer on how to go about enabling that. Is there any way around this? It be awesome to be able to use my phone in the car.
What's the model of your car stereo? Maybe you can connect it with an AUX cable or Bluetooth, if your stereo supports it.

It's a Kenwood MP345-U. It does have an aux cable, however there is sound quality loss with that. Bluetooth I'm honestly not sure whether or not it has, I've read somewhere I can purchase a Bluetooth USB that the phone can connect to. My main concern was I was able to charge my phone before along with it pausing the music during a phone call, etc.

Since the phone can function only in media player mode (MTP), I don't think you can play it any other way than through the AUX cable. CWM recovery has the option of mounting internal storage as USB storage, but that's a highly, highly impractical solution.
You CAN do this but it is specific to CM ROMs. Probably 10.3. I don't know if its working on CM11 KitKat yet.
Its called USB Audio or something.
I'd also check out a Bluetooth solution if it would work. Then you could just plug in audio and use an NFC sticker to turn on BT and launch a music player. If you have a Verizon, you can also do wireless charging, so you can just drop your phone down on a mat and have everything just start working automatically.

There is only quality loss with anything OTHER than AUX. The AUX and only the AUX on this phone is capable of delivering 24bit audio. The downside is, well, 2 cords.
Problem Using Bluetooth
The problem with using Bluetooth is that you can't use voice commands to pick tracks to play.

I did that. I enabled MTP fix rebooted and plugged in,what I did notice is that it seems to mount for a second or 2 sometimes and then it unmounts right away. I tried it on 2 work computers also and under my computer, the LG pops up as a drive for a quick second and then it un mounts. What the heck is going on.,I have screen shots of what is happening. It always pops up on the top of the screen with SD Card Unmounted when I tap the widget to mount. Something is causing it to Unmount it appears, any ideas?Since I Rooted the phone, when i hookup the usb cable it says that i am connected as installer, could that have anything to do with it?
