Any info about development for this watch?
I'm not a programmer but I thing I can do some watchfaces...
This is my wish list that hope be develop in future:
- Tasker app (like pebble or sony)
- Music player (able to control every player)
- Note App (maybe able to sync with Evernote)
- Whatsapp compatible (I do a simple task that send an email when receive a whatsup msg, but this only a very simple and not confortable thing)
- Many tons of watch faces (watch is a watch, and it must be a better watch! pebble is the best in this, my favorite is the retrò like casio watch and the strange)
- remote camera shot control (i think it can be a good things)
so hope to see many post in this thread!
Bye and have a nice and happy new year!!!

Tips and Trick - whatsapp notifications hot smartwatch
Hot smatwatch doesn't have a native support till now for whatsapp, so ho to receive a notification?
It's not the best way, i know, but while waiting for someone that maybe develope an app TASKER can help us..
First of all i need to say that i'm a newbie in tasker use so maybe someone can do it better but i think that this is a simple way that everyone can do.
Requisite:
-TASKER https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm
-EMAIL ME PRO https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.caramellabs.emailmepro
-root device
Once dowload all open email me pro and complete the setting (smtp is very very very important)
now open tasker
Create a new profile
Select EVENT
on filter search for NOTIFICATION and select it
On owner application click on the icon and select whatsapp
Now maybe it ask to give tasker the accessibility so in the accessibility menu (of device setting) select tasker jb and put it ON
ok now profile is complete
Give a new task a name go on
Now select PLUGIN
now select EMAIL ME PRO and set is like you want is very easy
FINISH!
just a little video tutorial for tasker
Now everytime you'll receive a whatsapp message tasker send you an email... in this case on the Hot smartwatch mail app
Hope this help
Bye

Bye! and have a good day
Daniele
Friends from CES, any news about SDK release? we have to start develop app and watchfaces!!!

some news from Google+ user in this community https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/117941715311215801130
post say:
"In the next few days we will release the windows simulator, you will be able to navigate the UI of the HOT watch and learn how it will work on your wrist. Hope this will keep you busy until you receive your HOT Watch."
Also looks like the ship date has been bumped down again to February.
Simulator is here
From Kickstarted comments page report:
The simulator can be found here: http://www.hotsmartwatch.com/download/ with the password Simulator4HOT.
Oh man... I really hope this gets some Tasker support like AutoPebble. That is the one thing worrying me about this watch.
I hope to, Tasker is a must-have!

Good stuff, I've got my eye in this watch. Anyone received their HOT watch yet?
they just started production of pcb's last week, that's the only info PHTL has given so far
they will send out a shipping schedule 'soon', whenever that will be...
Correct SDK links
It appears the links were mishandled somewhere and all the files on the SDK page are corrupt. I made a post with working links here http://hotsmartwatch.forumflash.com/index.php?/topic/28-correct-sdk-download-info-inside/
The SDK offers a LOT of control. Good luck!
Warning this is a long post grab some tea or coffee.
Coming from a Note 2 the IR capabilities on a phone was a new concept for me. I played around with performing some smart control with peel and a few other apps. Nothing really fit like a professional Universal Remote branded custom programmed remote. Much like a very advanced version of Logitech Harmony. I wanted the WAF (Wife Approval Factor) . This means multiple rooms, devices, scenarios with single button clicks with a remote that changes given its room location and control type. Out Note Edge if you didn't know has an amazing wide spectrum infrared transmitter that can work with a mind blowing array of proprietary devices. Like Xbox and MCE machines to name a few. Its simply needs a powerful app to drive it with a deep code library.
So I stumbled on the app in the play store called "Smart IR Remote - Anymote" . Before I go further I'll point out that I'm not affiliated with any developer and have no benefit to point this app out. I'm just a gadget junkie and a fan of great tech but I digress. This app is not on the cheep side. Its around $6 if I recall. What turned me on to it was its continuous and constant development record, the developer is interacting with users regularly and it met my minimum requirents for experiments.
Setup can be as simple as a Logitech on the basic side or complex as the professional grade. It is your choice . What struck me with aww was the adaptability to create custom remotes WITH full macro or "scene" in the pro world and integrate that in to a one button. Take multiple remotes and combine buttons from all of them to one uber remote. Control WiFi devises along with it. Yup multiple pathway control. Holy cow I was so excited I finally found something to rival some of the most expensive remotes I have ever owned for $6 bucks. It is even equipped with thermostat library's along with some home control capacity. So my brain was tingling with logic layouts and control schemes.
After some serious testing in my house im happy to report only one obscure devise did not have a library entry for its IR codes. One email to the Dev and he was on it. I have set up multiple rooms with a minimum of 3 scenes per room via macro and custom remote setup. My setup works like this . the default remote is the "Home remote" that has buttons labeled per room. Select the room you want to control, Master Bedroom for example and the Master bedroom remote pops up. Then just select one of the action options like "Chrome Cast" turns the TV on pauses and switches the input to the proper location. Then a Chromecast remote pops up with volume and other actions like "Watch Movie". This turns on my HTPC that basicly cone out of sleep, flips the input on the TV to whatever its on and brings up the HTPC remote with all the functions for navigation select and volume. Cool part on this particular scene is if you change it to something else you simply add the sleep option in the macro and the HTPC will go to sleep if you want to change to something else.
It can get far more complex but I used this on my wife's phone that has IR and have had successful WAF !
So play have fun with the infrared on your phone. If anyone is interested I'd be happy to post some examples both simple and complex. Hope this helps someone else and be sure to give a thanks if it did . Cheers.

The edge display is not effected. Works just like with any other app. You can add a app icon in to the edge display as a shortcut. Not app specific but handy for any apps you use regularly.
As for question 2 the short answer is no. I had to lookup the Logitech Squeezebox since I don't have one. It looks like they don't have a library entry for it but I'm sending a message to the Dev team and inviting them to this forum.
Great post! I too tend to find the IR capabilitied that Samsung phones have a very cool feature. It amazes me that so many people dont even take advantage of it, but then again there are so many people that dont tske advantage or know how to use 90% of the features on their phones. I sold my friend a nice Sony LED TV a couple weeks ago and after a few hours he called me asking for the remote because the buttons on the side were a pain to deal with and he didnt have a universal remote.. I was blown away by this because not only had i sold him my Galaxy S5 over a month prior to the TV, he had the Galaxy s4 for probably a year befote the 5, and when i told him to just use his phone its better anyway he had no clue what i was talking about... Anyway, sorry to ramble. Lol Thanks again for the info.
thank you
That's what keeps us, the developers, going. Seeing appreciation like yours makes me want to improve the product, makes me ashamed of the occasional bugs you probably encountered, but all things added, leads to a better product.
By the way, @Cab121, make sure to make a backup of your remotes in Settings -> Backup / Restore. You seem to have put a lot of work into yourself, and only I know how many customers relied on (eventually broken) Helium backups when switching roms, cleared the app data accidentally or not knowing what they were doing, losing precious of their work.
As for some of the other questions in the thread:
- using the Edge - No, right now Smart IR Remote doesn't make use of the Edge feature. It's certainly something we want to add, but we have so much stuff on our platter right now that it might take a while to get on this. Have you seen AnyMote Home ?
- Logitech Squeezebox - yes, that's supported over InfraRed, in our Game / Media Manager category
- Logitech Link - sorry, access to that is closed. We've tried, but no luck.
By the way, if anyone has any support questions (missing devices, bugs, stuff like that..) please email [email protected] - that way you have the highest (guaranteed) chances of getting a reply.

I am a product manager of a medical application written for Android watches
we use :
Sony smart watch 3
and
LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition
Since some of our users are elderly and do not know how to use the watch we would like the watch to be in kiosk mode - so the users can only access our application without the
option to exit it by mistake - It will be hard for them to get back to the application.
We tried in many ways to achieve this - mainly making the application the device owner
but we understand this can only be achieved by setting an OS level flag called the Low RAMflag and we have not managed to do that
Have any of you managed to achieve kiosk mode with any watch on the market?
Interested to learn from your experiences
Lila
I'm no developer, but would a custom watchface with an invisible button over the entire watchface work as an workaround? Then you "only" need a way to disable the swipe actions and longpress.
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
Well no...
It not a good solution. we tried it. it caused flicking, does not work with hardware buttons and generally not fitting to an enterprise level software.
Any other idea in the crowd? (Thanks BTW)
Hey everyone, I recently discovered an oldie but a goodie: MIT's App Inventor 2. It's an online Android app making tool that's very beginner friendly. It uses drag and drop tools to make apps. The apps you can make with it are fairly limited, but I noticed that the first one I made is compatible with Android version 1.6 and up.
So, theoretically, we could make some really useful apks that would work with the NST. Could be as simple as making an app that can toggle between displaying a couple different web pages (say your to-do list on Any.do and your Google Calendar) to emulate apps that aren't compatible with the nook in their standard form. I might try tinkering with it sometime soon to make a couple simple things, and I'd be curious to see what other people came up with if they do the same.

Thanks for this. I've been using an ancient version of Tasker and App Factory to do the three custom apps I've constructed so far. But now that combo will only run on a little KitKat phone I use as an mp3 player. Maybe I can get some other ideas there.
Hey guys, I plan on creating an app but I need some tips and/or tricks to help me get started. I do plan on releasing the app on here (Using XDADevelopers) first to get some attention, then release it on the Google Play store. Here are the details of the app:
App Type: Lockscreen Customization
Minimal SDK: API 16 (JellyBean)*
Testing Device: Samsung S6 Edge (Rooted, running Android Marshmallow)
IDE: Android Studio
Key Components:
The app must be able to detect weither the home button is being pressed (which makes the phone access to the launcher, we dont want that) and quickly intercept the action and return back to the locker
Allow to lots, and I mean LOTS of customability (Much like C Locker, which is the app that has inspired me ^^), some of these customizations include the following:
App widgets and custom widgets like images, text, sprites, etc
LED/Vibration/Notifcation settings for apps
Change speed of animations (Like NovaLauncher does), also be able to choose different types of animations for the lockscreen
Customize colors in app
Integrate Android Wear (make the watch vibrate or ring your phone is low on power, or when the connection is lost)
Different lockscreens that show whenever the conditions configured are met, similar to C Locker (like bluetooth connections, music playing, WiFi, SmartLock conditions ,etc)
This is the cricual part: MUST have several different unlock unlock, like fingerprint (Thanks to Android 6.0.1), pattern, pin, SmartLock, Slide-To-Unlock, and Gestures
Be able to integrate as a plugin for Tasker, like have tasker check for launched apps
Intregrate voice assistants like Google Now/Google Assistant, S Voice, and such others
Have high and steady performance for all phones like. Also not be a resource hog!
This may is maybe feature: Be able to do functions like override the system settings and bypass system lock via root
Utilize Material style (this is a personal preference tbh)
I will add in some more ideas I have for the app.. Actually, I haven't gotten a good name for the app, but I'm thinking of Trinity Locker.
As you can see, I have numerous of ideas for this app.. all I need is some help with creating it. I will warn you guys this, I am pretty new to Android development (I typically code on Minecraft, even created some pretty decent mods), so I need some guidance on what and how things work with the Android system. I do have some coding experience from coding mods for Minecraft and taking a class on the basics of C++. If you guys have some ideas or tips and tricks to give, I'm all ears. Thank you!
NOTE: Anything with a * means that it is subject to change!
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I did also have a chance of using MIT App Inventor so I have a small foundation of the Android development. But I am new to Android Studio, so I need some tips with using that as well.
ALSO, to crucially note, I am in high school.. So I may not have time to respond to everyone/program the app since I have majority of my classes are cross college (or to most known as Dual Enrollment or Advanced Placement (AP)) courses :crying:. Oh and I live in the Central US Timezone, so my time will be different (or the same) for most

What I meant by the recommended api is the api I'm starting on first (since that's what Android Studio defaultly sets mento the develop on the latest first)
Hey I have gotten the first bits of the app started! I'm trying to work on the setup phase of the app (where the app asks for permissions and basic settings to start). I even got the code uploaded on Github. Oh also, I might create a XDA Developer project and start adding some info there
Hey guys! I've been adding lots of stuff to the app! If you guys notice something off with the coding, please let me now at Github! Thanks!
