[Q] Please HELP!!! L7-P705 keeps rebooting after unlocking bootloader - Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Someone please help!
I have a LG Optimus L7 P705g, on v10C stock rom, rooted according to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906133
Then I tried to unlock bootloader and install cwm recovery following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664322
I tried both v1 and v2 of the L7CWM archive. But the phone keeps rebooting about 2 minutes after power on.
No matter I boot normally, or boot into cwm recovery, it still restarts about 2 minutes in.
It's driving me crazy. Can somebody give me some pointer in how to resolve this constant reboot situation?
I believe I followed all the instructions provided with the above threads, and tried flashing both v1 and v2 a few times.
Thanks in advance!

ok, you need to do this.
First, follow this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31828740&postcount=1191 to flash the ROM from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2176430 this rom is already rooted, and includes CWM and unlocked bootloader, so you shouldn't have any problems to flash any other ROM after that one.
and second, you need to learn to search on the forum, and read more before asking already solved issues.
good luck

Thanks for your quick reply! Actually, I'm a little hesitant to use kdz updater, as I've read some posts saying that even after they flash the stock kdz, the phone was in an even worse situation.
Since I can still boot into cwm recovery (I have a 2-minute time frame before the phone restarts itself), should I do a wipe cache or something? Will it help?
Flashing the whole thing is my last resort.

yes, I've also read that some people have problems after flashin kdz....but i dont know why, KDZ flashing is usually the best way to make sure your phone is back to a "perfect" working state, since it restores everything to the way it should be, and in most situations is the only way to unbrick the phone.
I can't tell you how many times I had to use KDZ updater to restore my phone after messing with it, im not a developer but i do a lot of experiments with my phone trying to make it work better, and most of the times it end totally bricked, and every time KDZ updater saves my ass. Some time ago i was trying to modify the stock rom myself, and I used to flash via KDZ my phone at least twice a day....so for me is pretty safe to use

I tried to read as many posts as possible about using the L7CWM archive to unlock bootloader and CWM recovery before actually doing it. People with P700 and P705 both reported success. I don't know what I did wrong. I am so frustrated...
The ROM you pointed me to get is for P700, does it matter? (Mine is P705). Or should I use my stock rom kdz to test it out first?
Also the two links that you gave me have different phone mode setting in the KDZ updater, one set as EMERGENCY, the other one set as DIAG. Which one should I use?
Thanks again!
Hope there is an easier way than using the KDZ updater... :fingers-crossed:

yep, it's for P700, but other than NFC, there's no difference...i dont recomend to use that rom for every day because it will drain your battery because of the NFC. but since it comes already rooted and unlocked, its an excelent base to make sure everything is well installed, after that you should be able to enter into recovery without problems, and then you can flash a ROM for P705. Personally I suggest you to try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472479 it's working very good for me, and have specific kernel to p705
Of course you can try with stock kdz for p705, but hen you will have to repeat the process with L7CWM and chances are that something goes wrong again.
And I gave you the link that use EMERGENCY because it is the way I use to flash a KDZ, you can try to follow tutorial with DIAG option, but I haven't test it myself, and I would never recommend something I haven't tested before. Also because you said your phone reboots every two minutes, and I think DIAG option needs the phone to be ON while flashing, in EMERGENCY option, the phone will never turn off untill you unplug the cable.

I read another post about flashing the Homero's v10K rooted KDZ that you mentioned into a North American P705, and that made the phone unbootable.
But fortunately, I managed to get a stock bootloader from a friend's North American P705 and push it into my phone. This did the trick, my phone didn't have the boot loop anymore.
Then, I upgraded the stock firmware to v20A via LG's mobile support tool. At this version (JB as opposed to ICS), I tried to push the cracked bootloader into the phone again. This time, everything was all right, no boot loop! So I flashed the CWM recovery, and everything was good.
I just tested out Szymel's modded stock rom v20E with OC 1305Mhz, seems pretty good!
Now I have a lot of ROM choices to test out.
Anyway, thanks so much for your help and suggestions!

[Q] [REQ] DLL for flashing D805 10B TOT file through LG Flash Tool 1.6 - Please help

Guys, I really need to find the LG DLL file database for flashing .TOT files.
The DLL file I need is for the LG G2 D80510B_00 or LG G2 D80510A_00 TOT file firmwares, to be used on 1.6 LGFlashTool, for Brazil unbranded variant of the phone. I believe it will work for all D805 models.
The .TOT file I intend to use is LGD805AT-00-V10a-724-05-AUG-23-2013-16G+0.tot
I have scoured the internet for over a week and found none other than in a chinese LG G2 forum, the link -- http://bbs.gaodi.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=662769&extra=page=1&filter=typeid&typeid=2381 -- and the file was no longer available for download. I registered on their forum, but the file was showing an error even after proper registration.
I have not found this DLL anywhere, is there a database for it? How did people come up with the AT&T and Vzn DLL versions? I haven't been able to extract it from the KDZ files either, and the DLLs generated from the KDZ during UpdateTool does not work.
I had bricked the phone originally by trying to use Scott's Clean Rom on it, and it bricked into fastboot mode. I flashed something wrong on fastboot, I can't even remeber what, and rebooted, and fastboot was no longer accessible...
I can get into download mode, and factory reset from stock recovery, no custom recovery available, it is gone. I try to flash KDZ files, many versions besides my D805 one, just for the sake of trying, but all of them get stuck on the 49% point. I have set up port 41, disabled modem, reset phone before trying, selected many different language combinations besides my own Portuguese one. Nothing works.
On LGFlashTool 1.6 it seems like it can work, but it errors at 1%, when I use the DLLs for D800 or D802. I need the DLL for D805. I even managed to find the proper TOT file.
I have also searched for about two days on how to reenter fastboot mode from where I currently am stuck.I even did a DIY Factory Cable on an micro USB I had lying around, soldered it all right, but it did not work, and the cable got very hot. I think these cables will not get G2 into fastboot mode, like it seems to do on Kindle fire and Motorola devices. Maybe my DIY was not that good, but I think it should have worked, I made sure the soldure was set and good.
I am downloading Android SDK to try to get back into fastbood mode from there, if there is a way, as it seems to be. I would try to reflash boot and other partitions in an attempt to fix my phone... Is there a way, or another faster path back into Fastboot?
Download mode does not show the version of the firmware on the phone in the box that displays information in the bottom while fdlashng KDZ files. It leaves a blank line where it should be. I believe it is part of my problem, that LGFlashTool does not see a version on the phone at some point, and fails. Or the phone rejects the PC pushes.
I am almost going to the tech support guy with a flash box downtown, but that would be my last resot, and then official LG support, if all else fails. I don't want to go to LG yet because download mode shows ROOTED in red, and they would see it probably, and my warranty become void.
Thanks for any ideas, guidance or help... Cheers guys.
Read this carefully may help you
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477595
Yeah, that was the guide I used when I landed on fastboot after a bad flash from CleanROM... I flashed some boot.img and recovery.img that didnt work out well.
After I flashed these I rebooted and fastboot mode was no longer loading, instead, I am now on bootloop of the LG logo, with no animation, just the first logo that shows on boot, and I can access stock recovery to factory wipe and also access download mode. My download mode shows rooted warning, and while I am flashing a KDZ, does not show the firmware version I currently have in the middle of the box - before I flashed those .IMGs, it did show the version.
I now a, after a .DLL for D805 10A .TOT file, and I cannot find it. I think the flash method from LGFlashTools 1.6 will work, with .DLL and .TOT files, where the LGFlashTools 1.0.5 did not work for me, with .KDZ.
Or if anyone knows of a way to get into the fastboot mode for G2, pelase let me know. Then I could reflash some .IMG files and hopefully get my phone back online...
Try to flash other version even this is 802 or internetional version. At least you can proof your phone completly brick or not.
I only have all TOT file link of F320 and D802 if you need to try.

Hi guys, I finally managed to fix it a couple days after my thread.
I took long to post this, sorry, I had some interner problems...
Turns out there's already a thread explaining how to do it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471370
I went to LG Mobile Support Tool and >Options on top right >Update Recovery.
It had to download, so I did it at a friend's who had 50Mbps internet house, to fix this.
I am sorry that I could not manage to do it offline. I even had the KDZ file to flash, but it was only possible through this option in LG Support Tool...
Best of luck to all in any similar problem, I know I was kinda without hope at some points. I spent 2 weeks trying to fix the phone.
Cheers,
Andrew

I already installed this ROM and Worked all fine, but when I'm trying to install some Magisk Modules and rebooted my device it get stuck at LG logo... I can access Download mode but not my TWRp recovery.

Thanks to all that tried to help me! I appreciate it a lot! Thank you so much!
My only solution was to try short the capacitors following this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/lg-g2-unbrickable-fix-real-hard-brick-t2904404
Thanks God I don't need to mess with the board!
My problem was that I tried this ROM LineageOS 17.1 with latest version of TWRP Blastgator. Everything was running fine until I flashed Magisk and installed some Mods, then the device rebooted and I get stuck at logo!
No System and no Recovery access, only Download mode! :crying:
Then I followed this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
I used to install some custom ROMs like Cloudy G2, LineageOS, Resurretion Remix and AOSPX Pie and tried to this new one. I never had any problems!
This time I realized that my device was forever bricked, my last hope was to short the capacitors but I tried all ways to back to Stock because in Downlaod Mode my device was recognized by Windows.
I tried this in Windows 10 x64 but no success, then I formatted an old HD with Windows 7 x64 to try again!
Old Flash Tool get me stuck at 2% or 4%... no success in both system with all LG drivers available... NO SUCCESS!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53313255&postcount=5400
LGUp only gives Unknow Device and never start but it's seens the device on port 41 - that I changed following the tutorial.
My last hope was New Flash Tool but I needed TOT file for my Device - D805 not D802 and the correct DLL. initially I didn't find anywhere... Like this guy:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583851
I give a lot of tries... a lot of different files, DLLs, tried .KDZ and .DZ, only errors and errors... a lot of "Failed to Load()"...
I'm getting frustrated until I see this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
And found this mine of gold of Downloads:
http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/
And again, thanks to all, there is a hope in the D805 folder!
I get the TOT File: BIN_LGD805AT-00-V10a-724-05-AUG-23-2013-16G.zip and tried the LG Firmware Extractor (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600575) to get a new DLL (LGUP8974.dll).
And voilà, like a charm that WORKED!!!!!!!!! :fingers-crossed::highfive:
It installed Jelly Bean the with the Official LG Updater I installed Kitkat and finally Lollipop.
Later I'll try this LineageOS Rom again!
I hope I can help someone in need like me!!
I thank this forum a lot!!
And please excuse my English!
Thank you so much!

Secure Boot Error F320S!

Hello! I have a problem which I don't know how to fix, so I need some help! I'm running stock android 4.4 (20a) and have flashed CWM through Flashify, but every time I try to boot into recovery, I get this message:
"Secure booting error
Error: Boot Certification Verify!"
Recovery worked in android 4.2 (11g), but I messed my phone up, and flashed the latest .kdz-file for my phone. It was after that the recovery-problem appeard.
I've read some places about people with D802 who has this problem, but the fixes they've got only works for D802 and D800. So, how can I fix my F320S? I guess there are more people with the korean version who has stumbled upon this problem, so if you got a fix, please post it!
Excuse my typos if there are any!
Thank you!
LG G2 F320S
Put phone in download mode, and flash the stock KDZ.
If you cannot do this, then you are hard bricked. I had an LG Optimus G which I got a Secure Boot Error after flashing a compatible ROM using TWRP, and although it could get into download mode, it would never be seen as a COM Port in the computer again to it couldn't be seen by the Flash Tools software to restore KDZ.
But it is a stock image I've flashed... What causes the problem!?
Edit: I tried to put it in Download-mode, but the secure-boot error apeard there too... But the phone can't be bricked, as it's booting to Android and everything works...
Would this fix it if the developer made a version based on my aboot?

Edit no.2: I pressed the wrong button-combination, so yes, I was able to access Download-mode, and it works like a charm!

Did you ever fix this, and how? I just stumbled on to the same problem the same way. I've got a D802 international. Recovery is corrupted with the same error as yours. That was nonsense about being bricked above. I hate that when people give wrong info. Any help definitely appreciated.

I'm wondering what happens if I do a factory reset? Trying to get up the nerve to do it. If not then I think the next best option is to wait for 4.4.3 or higher.

I don't think a reset will fix it as it's not fixing any corrupt data. The problem lays in the bootloader. It's not able to boot into the recovery installed as if it was an earlier build. It looks like this is what you are looking for to be able to install a recovery the right way. I haven't tried it yet, tho.

Is there a way to correct my mistake? I wouldn't normally care as it seems to work fine, but it's very annoying that the phone won't get out of Edge mode and I have perfect 3G nearby.
Thanks in advance!

I found the development thread, downloaded and flashed the p700 version instead of the p705 like I should have and now clockwork won't let me flash the correct version...
Is there a way to correct my mistake? I wouldn't normally care as it seems to work fine, but it's very annoying that the phone won't get out of Edge mode and I have perfect 3G nearby.
Thanks in advance!

Why won't it let you flash the correct version? Just put the ROM on your external SD, boot into CWM and flash the correct ROM. If that's not possible, I suggest you flash your country's firmware via KDZ and then root your phone, unlock your boot loader again and flash the correct ROM (this is the long way).
You should flash again CWM with CWM app. It'll probably overwrite your current recovery which probably kept in memory your device as a P705 or an other thing.

Yes, I am aware of how to flash a ROM, that's how I got into this situation. CWM keeps telling me the correct ROM is for a p705 and it says I have a p700, which is not true. It is clearly a p705!

I really don't want to do that if I don't have to.

Are you are saying that I should re-flash CWM? How would that change things?
You flashed a ROM that changed your phone to a P700, theoretically speaking. There is no way to revert, unless, and this is a theory and not a possible solution, if you find a different P705 ROM and try to flash that. Maybe CWM will let you flash that P705 ROM even though it thinks that your phone is a P700. If this doesn't work, I don't think there's a different way to change your phone back to a P705 rather than flashing the original firmware through KDZ.

Okay, I suppose I didn't make it clear. I already tried to flash the p705 ROM and CWM won't let me.
I am confused as to why CWM won't let me change ROMs considering that I haven't changed the recovery, only the ROM. Why would a ROM not let me change to another ROM? Maybe I have the incorrect CWM version?

Yeah, I guess it's just CWM trying to protect P700 users from flashing the wrong version, but not the other way around. Weird. Anyways, I suggest you give it a go with TWRP Recovery. They might allow you to flash a P705 ROM.

Actually, CWM considers your phone is a P700. But, if you flash a second time CWM with CWM app available on the Play Store, your recovery will be overwrited with a new recovery who " knows " you own a LG P-705. So, your problem will probably be solved. Or you can also flash TWRP.

Did you install your drivers? Did you install LG PC Suite? Was your phone in emergency mode? Did you select "EMERGENCY" from the drop down list? Try to double check all of these things.

I don't know how to get into emergency mode... But yes, I have all the drivers. The PC suite won't connect for some reason, it won't me to download a driver, but the device isn't listed through any of the carriers it lists.

Connect your phone to your computer via an USB cable, remove your battery, wait until the LG logo goes away and then hold the power button and volume up button until you see the yellow emergency screen and immediately release all buttons.
The emergency mode only stays on for a second then the phone goes into regular boot...

Hold the buttons a bit shorter. It's all about timing.
Okay, i wasn't releasing the buttons fast enough, nevermind, its doing it's thing now, will update...
The problem looks to be the original firmware I had, I still get the same issue now. I need p705 specific firmware to start with...
A little history on the phone, my friend gave it to me because she couldn't remember the pin to open the phone, so I had to flash it to use it. My bad, I guess i didn't know where to get the v20 file to start with. Do you know where I can get a p705 specific version?
Bad post, sorry!
For the record, our phone is the same as the 700. Only they had nfc while we don't. So it's ok to flashed it but the downside is you don't have deepsleep. The battery will drained because of nfc. So relax, you don't need to go over the kdz flashing as long as you can go to cwm. So questions:
1. what Rom did you flashed?
2. If you hate the kdz flashing, then just go to cwm and flashed the correct one. But before that, you need to delete the first line of the updater script in order for it to continue.
3. Or you just stay with the Rom, and delete all nfc related files and flash 705 kernel. For nfc remover, just go to apps and themes section and look for nfc remover by caliban as reference.

[Q] LG G2 bricked and can't flash stock firmware!

So I'm really into Android developing, I'm always flashing and installing etc, but I got a problem now.
Phone information
LG G2 D802
Rooted
TWRP Recovery 2.7.0.0
Was running 4.4.2, found a kdz file on the internet and flashed it (no regular update from my phone)
What happenedI actually did something stupid, I received an application update from the LG Download Center (or whatever it's called) on my phone and clicked on it. I was planning on flashing Android 4.4.2 again because my firmware was not stable, and I thought this update could help me.
But no, after it finished downloading, I automatically booted into recovery.
What I didSo I tried to reboot and enter my OS, but unfortunately, I was stuck in recovery.
I did everything I could, wiping (Dalvik) cache, factory reset, flashed a new rom, restored Nandroid backup, but no, every time I booted, I got back into recovery again.
I only saw 1 option left, booting into download mode and flashing a new firmware.
I found the Netherlands 16GB kdz file for Android 4.4.2 (because I had a French one first), the one I was looking for.
Looked all over the internet, and all guides pointed me to this guide.
Tried it, but I got multiple errors, one of them was that my phone was not connected while I was at 15% of the flash process.
What happenedAfter that first flashing process, I booted up, but got a Security Error. After the Security Error was showing for 5 seconds, my phone shut down. This is happening every time I try to boot up.
I couldn't access my recovery anymore, nothing. Edit: I can access my recovery right now, and I tried this, but when I boot up I get the Security Error again.
The big problem right now is the Security Error! How do I bypass that?
So can someone please help me out!
Several phones/tablets of mine bricked and I always found a way to get out of it, but not this time, unfortunately...
Have you tried this

Yes, I actually have. Didn't mention it, but after I did that I booted and got an LG logo and below it was a text that said 'Security Error' After like 5 seconds the security error goes away and my phone shuts down. I can only enter download mode right now.
I'll edit my first post with this info.
Thanks for the help though!
Edit: I find a way to access my recovery again because at first I couldn't but I figured out that the code in the thread you linked was a bit different than the code I entered at first.
So I used the code you gave me, but now I get the Security Error again!
Hi mate, just like you i downloaded that damn OTA today and messed up my phone, but in my case was because i had totally forgotten it was rooted and had custom recovery installed :silly::silly::silly::silly:
I followed this tutorial to fix the boot secure error http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 and it worked like a charm except for download mode wasn't working at all.
After doing some research i found this post http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...ricked-lg-g2-stuck-twrp-no-download-mode.html and got download mode (apparently) working again but Windows didn't recognize it at all so i couldn't use it to flash the .kdz stock firmware.
In the end i just flashed a custom aosp rom and got my phone back to life but the download mode issue it's still there and it's bothering me quite a lot.
Any suggestion is welcome.
EDIT: Don't download the recovery from the post, instead look for the latest version (2.7.0.0) because the one posted there (2.6.3.2) might corrupt your partitions

Thanks! But does my internal storage get whiped? Will all my pictures etc. be gone?
And the first thred removes the security error right? And after that I can just boot into recovery mode (I can boot in recovery btw) and flash a new rom? Just wanted to know this so I don't go through all that trouble for nothing
Edit: You know I can enter both download and recovery mode right?

Nope internal SD remains intact, basically what you'll be doing is pushing the right files into the system partitions and yes, in theory you should be able to flash a new rom.
Even if you can boot into recovery you should do it if you're getting that error, and after that you can just push a ROM file to flash (i'll assume you know how to do it) and btw let me know if you decide to flash a stock based rom instead of an aosp like i did.
Good luck with that :good:

[Q] Why I bricked my phone with LG Flash tool?

I have LG G2 D802 32GB. When I bought it, there was Android 4.4.2 KitKat installed.
Then I rooted it using ioroot25 and installed custom recovery using AutoRec.
I flashed CloudyG3 v1.2 rom by @Cloudyfa using TWRP.
It was working really good except the VOIP calls, thus I wanted to revert back to stock.
I found this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
I tried to flash it using some Europe Open KDZ from this page: http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda%2FLG+G2%2FStock%2F
The flashing started and stucked at I think 4%. I rebooted the phone and it appeared as qhsusb_dload.
I can't remember if I clicked on Normal or CFE flash. But I think it was normal.
I tried to unbrick it with this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
After that I got only LG logo and no recovery, no fastboot, no download mode, no qhsusb_dload mode, no nothing.
Now I got board replacement. The board have rooted Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean installed.
As I want to have CloudyG3 installed. I tried to do that by installing custom recovery and then flashing the CloudyG3 rom and KitKat baseband. But I think I have a battery drain issue, as Cludyfa already said. I also tried with flashing the Cust and Persist partitions from the KitKat KDZ, but my battery didn't got any better.
The question is, why I bricked my phone with LG flash tool? What should I do to make sure that this won't happen again?
I made backup of entire phone nand (mmcblk0). Should I DD it if I get the bulk mode (qhsusb_dload) again?
Thank you in advance for your answers.
@mss1988 if the phone is stuck at 4% just let it still for some time cause the program could might be bugged or some other error, just leave the phone on dont restart it cause the phone has first removed the stuff and didnt copied the bootloader etc yet.
If you get qhsusb_dload mode then I suggest to use the unbrick guide and also Pick the right files for your phone. You can DD your backup to your phone but using the unbrick guide seems safer to me.
Also check when you can use that qhsusb dload that all files are copied good.
Tip to prevent brick after root and custom recovery: Flash an stock rom through recovery or an stock rom which got modified under the hood.

That something like ????? Was probably in some asian language which your pc couldnt read. Some pc's makes boxes from it some ?. I cant tell you what that ???? Means since they have no meaning without any real symbols from some language of asia (I dont know where the dev comes from)
If it was stuck at 4% you could ask it on the thread of the lg flashtool since the dev of it and or other users may know the problem.
