[Q] Latest off. Stock ROM Update didn't update CP-Component - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Folks,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 32 GB SM-N9005 , recently updated via Kies 3.0 to latest official firmware update provided by Samsung.
Base Band:
N9005XXUBMJ
Kernel Version:
3.4.0-1628120
Build Number:
JSS15J.N9005XXUBMJ3
*#1234# gives following info:
AP: N9005XXUBMJ3
CP: N9005XXUBMJ1
CSC: N9005DBTBMJ3
The device has been successfully rooted using CF-Auto-Root as decribed in the corresponding CF-Auto-Root Thread here at xda-developers Forum.
Symptom of the Problem:
Basically the phone is working normally - no issues beside the following Error in Kies occured yet.
When connecting the phone to Kies though, it shows the following Error:
"Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via Kies."
I had a phone call with Samsung customer support today and they identified the root cause appears to be a incomplete installation of the firmware update.
The support engineer asked me to enter: *#1234#:
AP: N9005XXUBMJ3
CP: N9005XXUBMJ1
CSC: N9005DBTBMJ3
He told me that the issue is that the CP component displayed in the middle which should end with another digit (not 1).
Impact of the problem:
The bad impact of this issue is, that I won't be able to install any future firmware update as long as this issue is not resolved.
Suggested Resolution from Samsung Customer Tech Support:
They advised me to re-initialize and re-install the firmware via Samsung Kies in order to get this fixed.
This approach also results in the need of a full re-install of all my Data, Apps and Settings.
Now my Question:
Is there any recommended way from the xda-developers experts community which makes more sense ?
E.g. any advice / shortcut solution which saves me from setting up my phone entirely from scrath is highly welcome.
Additional Info:
I have Titanium Backup Pro installed - Does that offer a save way to prevent a full manual restore of my Apps, Data & settings ?
Thanks in advance

[Q] Firmware upgrade won't

Brought a Telstra Tab in December. Downloaded KIES 2.0 (no problems there) but now it (KIES) constantly tells me there is a firmware upgrade from PDA:JJ3 / Phone JJ3 / CSC:JJ4 [Current Firmware] to PDA:JJ4 / Phone:JJ4 / csc JJ5
When you are installing it describes the Firmware Version as 11.01.04.04
Takes forever to download, but does so and installs correctly - Tab seems to responds and restarts no problem - but when you disconnect/reconnect devices as suggested the firmware has not installed (i.e. Tab is still at PDA:JJ3 / Phone JJ3 / CSC:JJ4) and when you plug it back into KIES it advises that, yes, a firmware update is available.
Have tried three times now but no joy - does anyone else have the same experiences? Can anyone suggest a solution? I have KIES installed on a Windows 7 desktop.
When u dial *#1234#* in dialer what happens?
Dialer provides you with;
PDA: P1000TDVJJ3
PHONE: P1000TDVJJ3
CSC: P1000TTELJJ4
Just FYI have hard reset the device and tried to install upgrade with no luck. Have also contacted Samsung to see if they have any suggestions...
Thank you for your interest

Hi,
Just as an update I had done some research around KIES, The GT, and updates. Have a computer running XP at work so during my lunch break I decided to install KIES 1.53 (Not 2.0) and see if the upgrade worked then...
Message I got back after sync my GT was;
"Model Name: GT-P1000T
Current Version: PDA:JJ3 / PHONE:JJ3 / CSC:JJ4
This devices version cannot be updated."
So - I am assuming that there must be a flaw in KIES 2.0 if (a) it suggests there is a firmware update, (b) downloads that update but (c) does not install the update on the device.
I still have my service request with Samsung so will report on what the outcome of that is (if they corroborate or not)...
Im getting the same issue with kies v2
Theres also a discussion at whirlpool with aus users.

Network problem solved now missing wifi

First of all, sorry for my english because I use a translator to write.
I updated my Note 2 for Android 4.3 and that he lost imei and also the network connection, the IMEI had to pay to recover, and the connection after reading some threads here, put Kernel and Modem and ready, solved this problem, but now the wifi does not work. Stay alert at all times with the Knox safety, and also can not disable Knox because I can not do Root, even with the file of Dr. Ketan V6 .. And when I try to put some of the files as'' wifi patch "or even an older bootloader mj5 it gives error in Odin.
Currently it looks like this:
AP: N7100UBUEMK4
CP: N7100DDEMJ9
CSC: N7100ZTAEMK2
The system I put the same that is available for my SN (downloaded the firmwire by Kies, using my SN)
I'm not able to make it work, someone help me?
I'm from Brazil, if it helps.
thank you

[Q]SOLVED Noob GT-I9505 WIFI dead after upgrd 4.4.2 searched and tried all solutions

First of all please forgive me for opening yet another S4 wifi problem after kitkat upgrade, but I have tried everything I could possibly find here, on youtube and other forums. The only thing left to try is flash the modem but I'd rather ask before I brick my phone
I'm not quite sure if this is the same issue every single time or if in my case it is due to my ignorance and errors. I was an iphone/unlock/jailbreak user until last year so please bear with me. Android is new and fun (but scary) territory to me.
Situation, what I did and possible mistakes on my side:
-I'm in Spain but I bought my factory unlocked phone on amazon and it was for the Polish market (GT-I9505 Black, 16 Gb)
-My device was rooted don't even remember how I did it last year so no useful info on that side a part of using odin for windows.
- Until yesterday I was on jellybean, not quite sure if 4.2.2 or 4.3
- Yesterday I upgraded to 4.4.2 via mobile odin and yes I checked the boxes about clearing/deleting cache or whatever it's called.
- Used a stock firmware downloaded from other site (that one starting with "S" and with a great amount of firmwares for samsung devices of several countries)
- I chose a firmware randomly (maybe this was my mistake) because I hade read that the firmware was not that important and people where usimg leaked german firmwares on on phones from elsewhere. But I did choose one that matched the country of my phone (XEO/XX Poland)
- Everything is working fine but without wifi I'm buying new Mb bundles almost every 2 hours and I'll be broke very soon
If you guys think the solution is flashing the modem which file should I use? I see lots of them with different models/codes and I'm completely lost and have read a lot about messing with bootloaders/modems etc bricking devices so I'm freaking scared and ask for your charitative help!
All the info I could gather about my device right now (now I know I should have gathered this info also before attempting to upgrade but it's too late now!

Forgot to add I used the *#0011# command and went to wifi menu. Tried the ping test and it states: passed

1. Reflash the STOCK I9505XXUGNG8 (XEO) firmware via ODIN.
2. Let the process finish and reboot normally.
3. Dial *#1234# and have to appear this:
AP: I9505XXUGNG8

CSC: I9505YXZGNH2
4. Reflash again if not. Good luck
Thank you so much for your helpful reply Joku1981 !!!!! You made my day!!!
Can I do that with Mobile Odin??? My PC broke (Graphics card burnt) and until a couple of months won't be able to buy a new one.
To make sure I understand you: You mean Flash again the same firmware I used to upgrade to 4.4.2 in the first place?
I used this Firmware: I9505XXUGNG8_I9505YXZGNH2_XEO
should I try Flashing that same Stock Firmware again? and if does not work keep reflashing until the baseband and the bootloader get updated?
Why did they not update ? is this common or an error on my side???
I hope it can be done with mobile Odin since I can keep my root status, If I have to do it in Desktop Odin do I have to Re-Root after flashing???
Thank you so much for you kind help!!!!!!

SOLVED!!!!!
After nobody answered if I could use again "mobile Odin" to flash once more and try to fix my wifi not working I opened mobile odin and it gave me a warning about my version and having a wrong bootloader as a possibility of soft bricking my phone so I decided to stay away of mobile Odin this time.
I used desktop Odin (at work since my pc broke) and exactly the same firmware file downloaded from sammobile (but re-downloaded it just in case) and had to flash twice, the first time it went through the whole process ok right until the end where it showed the FAIL message.
I didn't know if I should turn off the phone stuck in download mode and with the process bar at 100 % or retry flashing without turning it off. So I decided not to turn it off (afraid it would get soft bricked or something). I closed mobile Odin but left phone On with download mode screen active and opened mobile Odin again got the "added"message and the blue color showing it was properly connected to the phone and started flashing process again....
I started getting red error messages saying the progress bar display was wrong (and it wasn't updating/kept stuck in the previous 100%) but after it finished it was flashed and everything was ok. WIFI WORKED!!!!!!
Now the weird part.....in case this happens /helps someone else:
- My phone DID NOT get wiped. My launcher and my apps stayed intact (I thought flashing even the same firmware always wiped data, I'm I wrong???)
- All my root apps (root explorer, titanium backup, so on and so forth) where there and working fine. One root checker stated I was rooted and another one stated I wasn't but even my launcher (nova) was working just as if I never flashed the phone.
- Since I was unsure of my "root" state and I did not have "supersu" app in my apps drawer I tried installing it via playstore but It always gave an error message (the application could not be installed in the default location)
- I rooted again just in case and the root process finished without errors but still I had no "supersu" app and one root checker said I was rooted and the other I wasn't. Tried installing "supersu" from the playstore but same error and could not get installed.
- I searched here and in other forums for similar problems/solutions but nothing worked until I tried several things that fixed the problem. Not really sure which fixed it so I will write them down in the order I did them:
1. Opened folder mount which I already had installed and it gave me an error and asked me to try the fix which I did.
2. Opened linked2sd which I already had installed also previous to the firmware flash. It gave me an error and asked me which was the partition to use (as when I first installed it) in my case it was ext4. And it seemed to start working as it normally does. No further error when reopening it.
3. Rebooted the phone and tried entering recovery mode to wipe cache etc but It never entered recovery mode. I get the message about going into recovery mode (top left corner small red letters) But right after that it reboots and I get the samsung logo and my home screen.
4. Tried reinstalling supersu again and no success. (By the way before I did all this steps I tried rooting again but got to the same point. No supersu on my apps drawer)
5. Downloaded BusyBox install (opened it but did not use it in any way, maybe something in the installation fixed my problem)
6. Opened mobile Odin just for curiosity sake and it opened fine and asked for downloading of the extra stuff as when I installed it the first time. After that I closed it
7. Rebooted normally (no recovery mode since I'm stuck without it)
8. Tried installing "supersu" and NOW it worked!!!
9. Checked in both root checker apps and both confirm I'm rooted and supersu started asking for granting permissions to apps again as it normally does!
10. Everytime I attempted flash, root, and even after some reboots I took the battery off (since I read in several threads it helped/was mandatory)
Conclusion now my WIFI problem is fixed, my root problem (that appeared doing the reflash for fixing my wifi problem) is also fixed. The only thing I could not fix is not being able to get into recovery mode.
Does anyone know a solution for recovering the ability to get into recovery mode????
Thanks to Joku for lighting me into re flashing once and again until my wifi was fixed!

Unable to flash firmware to SM-A202F (A20e) via ODIN

Hi there.
Apologies in advance if I have posted this in the wrong forum.
I would appreciate any help that the knowledgeable people on here can offer for the following issue.....
I recently purchased a supposedly new Samsung Galaxy A20e here in the UK (from eBay) for my girlfriend. After a few weeks of getting used to it she noticed that she wasn't able to install any secure apps on it such as banking apps nor could the phone access any OTA updates (error message: "Your current software version isn't supported"). Other than that the phone is totally usable and works with her UK mobile provider SIM.
Upon further investigation I discovered that the phone appeared to be rooted (it has a MAGISK app on it). To make matters worse it appears that the phone may not be a A20e (i.e. model number SM-A202F) after all and may in fact be a Galaxy Jean2 (i.e. model number SM-A202K) - I believe that this is how the A20e was branded in Korea. All of the relevant information under Settings > About Phone points to it being a A20e, e.g. Model Number (as does the branding on the box) but when I put the phone into Download Mode it shows the model number as SM-A202K. I also believe that the Bootloader is unlocked.
The phone is currently running the following:-
Android 9 (One UI 1.1)
Baseband version: A202FXXU3ATB1
Service provider SW ver: PRT/PRT/KTC
Android security patch level: 1 January 2020
Current version (visible if I attempt to perform an OTA Software update): A202FXXU3ATB1/A202FPRT3ASL3/A202KKKU3ATA1
The seller we bought it from does not respond to my queries and eBay haven't been much help either.
No problem I thought as I would attempt to flash the latest A202F firmware (i.e. UK firmware - BTU) to it via ODIN (and thereby remove ROOT?) but this is where I need help. I must admit that I'm not an expert in any of this so please excuse my ignorance and naivety.
I have made numerous attempts at flashing what I believe to be the correct firmware (all starting A202FXXU3***) - all to no avail. I have even tried a A202K version.
The first issue I encountered was an ODIN fail with "SECURE CHECK FAIL (PIT)". After investigation I discovered that it might be possible to resolve this by downloading the PIT file and explicitly referencing this in ODIN (I downloaded separate PIT files for both A202F and A202K). Using the A202F PIT version didn't resolve this particular problem however using the A202K PIT did however I then encountered the next problem. Using the A202K PIT file and any variation of firmware via ODIN now fails with "SECURE CHECK FILE (BOOTLOADER)" and this is where my limited knowledge runs out.
Can anyone on here offer any advice as to how I can resolve this issue please? Ideally I'd like to get the phone to a state where it is not rooted; is running SM-A202F firmware; is able to get OTA updates and be unlocked to UK SIMs.
Many thanks in anticipation.

Check if the phone has any custom recovery installed by previous user, like (TWRP, OrangeFox..). If it does do a full wipe and via ADB check for device info. I doubt it will show the same information as you listed in your post. From there i would download this firmware if its a202F
Download Samsung Galaxy A20e SM-A202F BTU United Kingdom A202FXXU3CVC1 firmware
Fast download latest Samsung Galaxy A20e firmware SM-A202F from United Kingdom with A202FXXU3CVC1 and Android version 11

Try using ODIN that i attached on this post and flash the firmware.

Excuse my ignorance but how do I tell if the phone has any custom recovery installed?
FYI - it has a MAGISK app installed on it.
