I have a Note 3 with model number SM-N9009, which is the Chinese Telecom version. It comes with the stock Chinese firmware which has a Chinese version of android (China Telecom start up screen animation, no Google Play, Chinese weather app, etc)
I want to install an U.S. version of Android in it, by using CWM Recover (or something similar) to restore from a stock ROM for a different model.
The Device is currently rooted and has CWM running on it.
I'm wondering if there is any English firmware ROM that is compatible with this model.
For example, the ones that I think may work are the firmwarse for SM-N9005 or maybe SM-N900T
The N9009 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8674 processor running at 2265 MHz while the other two has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB running at the same frequency.
It seems that these three models have similar processors, which may mean possible compatibility?
Additional device info:
Model Number: SM-N9009
Baseband version: N9009KEUBMI6
Build number: JSS15J.N9009KEUBMI6
I'm not sure what are the factors that decide compatibility, or if this is possible at all, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Why are you placing the same question in different forums?

I tried flashing with the ROM for N900T, specifically N900TUVUBMI7_N900TTMBBMI7_N900TUVUBMI7_HOME.tar.md5 but couldn't get it to work.
I found a guide on this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2080366 , so I tried using Odin to install the firmware but it fails with the following message:

It was stuck in download mode, but after popping the battery and restarting it it boots back in to the Android fine.
From what I read, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448084 it seems that the bootloader is locked..
Does anyone know what is going on?
What if I copy the ROM into the internal storage (I dont have a sdcard right now), boot into recovery mode where CWM is running, and flash the ROM from there? Would this work?
still no luck with flashing ROM, maybe I should try a different firmware?
What about TWRP?

Hi all,
I just bought N900A, but I am a bit confused.
What is what. I am in Europe. And my N900A have 4.3 version and it says there is no update.
In Europe I see usually 9000 & 9005 models.
Also, I see that N900A have different usb charger than I am used (some usb 3.0 charger)....Is this same on all Note 3?
What is the "exynos" version ?
Can anyone tell me how and which rom should I install for europe.
Give me as much as possible informations as you can guys
I am not a new in flashing or rooting, but I need a starting point
A starting point.
Ok. I understand. But is it possible to install ROM from the EU models on this N900A model ?
I see forum is splitted, but I really would like to have EU rom, and not the US one

Try to answer some of your questions
- N900A is Note 3 for AT&T network. While N900 and N9005 are international models. N900 uses Exynos chipset from Samsung, while N9005 and N900A use Snapdragon chipset from Qualcomm.
- You can install firmware from EU models (N9005 model)
- Because you are now in the oversea region, you may not get the OTA update. You can, however, download the stock firmwares manually and flash using Kies or Odin. You can check for the latest firmware by installing Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app --> open and press Menu --> select 'Firmware Browser'.
So, all N9005 roms are ok for.my N900A? I am right not on 4.3
What are your experiences. Should I upgrade to 4.4.2?
Not all. AFAIK do NOT use firmware for N9005 Hong Kong (TGY) and Taiwan (BRI) regions. Other regions should be ok.
I personally still on stock 4.3.
I want to use europe version. Not the one for us 4.3 or 4.4.2 however. If it works

Oh..its all ok. My fault
I used to have a Note-3 N900 model (TGY - HK) variant and recently the motherboard was water damaged and i bought a replacement board from the local market and got it installed by the seller as i didn't have time. The new installed board read NULL/UNKNOWN for both the baseband and the IMEI so i decided to install the original firmware again to see if it fixes the problem.
I flashed the stock firmware for the (TGY-HK) variant from Sammobile but unfortunately the process failed at the end. I tried again and again it failed.
Now i am stuck, i don't know what is the variant of the new motherboard installed.
So my question is that, are there any roms that would work on all N900 variants? Also if i disassemble the phone would i be able to detect the motherboard variant from a code or something printed on it?
Thanks in advance.
can you not ask the seller?
I did ask him already, but unfortunately they import the motherboards as lots from several countries so he doesn't know actually what variant is it.
If the HK won't work, try DL a BTU one from Sammobile. That should cover most of the Euro variants. Other than that, find a version for which you can also get a PIT file and flash the PIT so the partition matches the version you have to install. e.g. if you want HK firmware, find an HK PIT.

You'd need to check for a PIT for your device - apparently there are 16GB versions or 32GB ones. But you could try HERE for DL's and instructions.
Also you could try asking for someone with same phone to use one of the PIT apps to upload one for you.

You are replying to a three year old post .
I had some problem with a note 3 devise. I don't even know what is the vertion even. I tried with all the rims and bootloader using all the vertion of Odin. Finally the phone started with Odin 207 and honking 16 gb bootloader and honking 16 bg rom. But the only problem is that the storage redused to 16 gb ( I so 32 gb rom initially in settings ) and note 3 works fine now.
There was some problem with security and WiFi and some error also papers that frequently reset the phone. Any way now it is working well and updated to 5.0.0 over the air without any issues.
I don't know how I bricked the phone as I was fidilling with the settings truth Odin. And in between I have even git a message that the phone has lost firmware and do need to fix it with keys and keys was unable to identify the model.
Very difficult to understand your post .

Hello a friend of mine bought a SM-G900F phone in China. When I booted into download mode to download a new ROM, the screen displays "product name: SM-G900A". You can see screenshots on to the following address (I'm not authorized to insert links): goo.gl/photos/LVJXVdUwAiY6URkJA (open with https protocol)
In recovery mode, it displays:
Android system recovery <3e>
KOT49H.G900AUCU1ANCE
.../...
#MANUAL MODE #
-- Applaying Multi-CSC
Applied the CSC-code : CHN
successfully applied multi-CSC
I tried to flash the bootloader with TWRP and when I rebooted the phone in recovery mode, display the following message: "System software not authorized by AT&T has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest AT&T store for help".
I tried to flash the phone with ODIN and an official ROM, but every time I got the following error message:
<ID:0/003> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/003> FAIL! (Auth)
I tried in the end to flash the phone using an official ROM for ATT SG-900A. The operation is completed successfully with ODIN (no authorization failed) and the phone is again functional.
So how should I do to return to a ROM SG-900F?
i have exactly the same issue. the sticker at the back says "g900F" but i can only flash g900a firmwares! Please help!

I have no idea.......but at the end of the day, a sticker is just a sticker........
Download CPU-Z from the playstore and run it.....it'll tell you with way more accuracy than a sticker exactly which model you have......
Sent from my rooted, debloated stocKK kn0x0 SM-G900F
Well, it says G900A in CPU Z. But it's strange, right? I mean, why would they put a G900F Sticker on a G900A Device? Does anyone have an idea how i can get rid of the AT&T Bootloader? Before i tried to flash Android 5.0, i had a non-AT&T Firmware on my Device. help!
The way I understand it is that the bootloader is a 'partition' on the devices memory. With AT&T, this partition is 'locked' or write protected.....In effect, it becomes 'read only'.......I don't *think* that anybody has found a way to overcome or get around this 'protection'.....
Now this is where my definitive answers stop......i've never owned a device with a locked bootloader so I just don't know......
.......but.......
From what I've read (if I understand correctly) irrespective of what software was on the device before, it's now running AT&T software with a locked bootloader.....this locked bootloader can't be overwritten, so I *think* from now on, the only software that will successfully flash on your device is AT&T software....... (please somebody step in and correct me if I'm wrong).....

No need to be a douche.
You were sold a 900A stickered as a 900F obviously to decieve the buyer.
hey buddy.
i have the same problem.
it's a little different from yours.
i've just bought a samsung S5 G900f as the phone info says and the sticker as well.
my phone is running kitkat 4.4.2
and can't get any update via software update.
for the record, the phone shows the AT&T software update which means i need an AT&T SIM card to get an update.
i'm frm morocco and if its An AT&T version of s5 , that means it was unlocked.
when i go to bootloader it says G900A....
as well as the download mode says it's a G900A
i took my EMEI and put it in emei.info website they said it is a G900f.
i installed an app from play store called phone info.
it says that my phone has A G900A bootloader , A G900A baseband version , an AT&T finger print build , and an AT&T original CsC code and an AT&T firmware's CsC code and states that the Csc country is Usa and the hardware revision is G900A.00
but on the other hand it says that my build number is G900FZHU1AND1.
please, anyone here can help me out with this.
what phone model do i have ?
what firmware should i flash via odin ? the G900f or G900A one?
will flashing An AT&T firmware lock my device network again if it was obviosly unlocked?
Ok, so a few days ago i bought samsung galaxy s4 gt-i9500. Everything is fine except when i change launguage to my naitive. After that some of the apps stay in english and others change their language into chinese( i'm not sure if its chinese but it looks like it). phone runs on android 4.4.2. i tried to uptade it to android 5.0.1 with odin but everytime i try it fails either in re-partition or nand write start. Enyone can help? I tried using differnt cables, usb ports and even diferent computers, always switch off antivirus and kill kies, and start odin as administrator.

it's not a S4 I9500 , it's a SHV-E330S with diffrent hardware processor 2.3GHz LTE advanced , dont try to upgrade with I9500 Firmware you gonne brick your phone , take look here and try one of this firmwares http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SHV-E330S/
I didnt know that. I only checked in settings and model number displayed there is gt-i9500 but im pretty new to samsungs so i'll try with that. Thankfully nothing bad happened.
One more question, can i use only firmware for shv-e330s witch is for south korea or can i also use firmware for gt-i9506 witch has csc dedicated for my country. As i checked it shv-e330s and gt-i9506 are the same.
You can only use firmware for the E330S. Odin will reject attempts to install the I9506 firmware on the device. If there are custom ROMs available for your device, I would use one of them.

i bought a Samsung Galaxy s5 SM-G900F and it has some kind of custom rom thought it is just like the stock rom i've seen on other phones (the software version in device info is different, its written android 5.0/khalead nimer (its a name and a last name in arabic for someone) and i also in the build number it has phone number ) so i tried to flash the phone with this original stock rom from samsung mobile website which matches my reigon: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/44600/G900FXXU1BOC7_G900FOJK1BOC2_ILO/

Because the box and stickers are wrong
You chose a Chinese region ROM?
Choose your own country ROM for that model S5 from sammobile .com

for the model sm-g9006v there is only chinese roms for a telecommunications company called china unicom ??!! and can u explain to me how come that the box and the sticker under the battery and the bootloader model doesn't match ??? i mean why they could be possibly wrong/don't match ???
Lets see.... maybe because someone put the wrong stickers on it, and put it in the wrong box?
Stop obsessing over it, ask Samsung if it means that much to you, they're wrong, get over it, you're not a special case, it's happened to a few people here

I told you twice, you never heard of human error?
Never seen the wrong price tag on something?
No biggy... don't even know why you're bothered, you know which model phone you have now, if that's not the model you ordered, return it
And no, Sammobile has nothing to do with Samsung other than the owner hosting their ROMs
The box of about the phone can be changed with changing the rom and the sticker can be wrong on alot of samsung phone but download is the only way to know ur right model No.
This was might the case: You seller knew that he got a G9006V and decide to rebrand it as a G900F(its pretty easy) to get more potential customers witch result in a higher selling price.
You got fooled, its that simple. Try to give the device back.

Ya and there is alot of them on middle east as you said there is arab name in about device I'm living on qatar and I will tell -even if ur not living on middle east- don't buy any thing if is it not from known store also do not fix your device in unknown store even if it was cheap coz every time they fix it with less money and steel some small pieces and that will void your warranty
