Anyone have both the S4 and G2 ? opinions ? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I am up for my ATT upgrade, and I did pick up the LG G2 myself over the weekend, and my wife got the S3. After having the G2 only a three days, the battery life is nowhere near advertised, I am sure it's due to the amazing amount of bloat pre-installed on this phone, which is pretty shocking, just a million ATT and LG bloat apps. My G2 only got 3h On Screen time after it's second full charge, and total of 10 hours battery life, somethings wrong. I am sure it is CIQ and apps running in background, will root and delete all those apps, after I decide if keeping this phone. My wife's new S3 was getting same or even better battery life over my G2.
Where as my Wife's S3, I know it's the outdated older phone, but the feel of it in hand with Belkin gel case, just felt so comfortable and great in the hand, i could squeeze that phone and have a solid firm grip, I am sure the S4 would feel just the same. The G2 to me is on that fine borderline of just too large for me. I also had the Note 2 for three weeks back in the winter, and I could never get used to it's size for one handed use. And the g2 is at that border for me, almost too large. I seem to like a phone the size of the S3 at the most, and I think the S4 is exactly the same size, but even thinner, with a little bigger screen.
Battery life on a the S4 ? I am sure not even close to supposed G2 battery life, but is the S4 way off form the G2 or at least close ? And for people that have had both the S4 and G2, how do they compare in hand, and comfortably in holding it, and using it daily ?
Thanks

Hi, running S4 here. Yeah, you'll certainly want to debloat and get rid of everything you don't use.
Yeah, first off, condition the battery with absolutely-full recharges and absolutely-full discharges. Cycle this over the course of the week to level it out; should be four or five cycles total. I had a battery go from what you talk about to better than my stock battery after several cycles and two weeks' usage. A pain, I know, but you have to do it in order to rule out whether or not that's the issue.
Second, root that shiz. Then get your latest good-battery-life ROM and couple it with the right kernel. This makes a world of difference, as certain kernels are "on-demand" in that they downclock the CPU to low levels when the screen is off and it's in standby mode, and they boost the CPU power as needed. Further, they often undervolt draw from the battery making it last all the much longer.
Third, Greenify: get that application and it will tell you what the heck is eating up CPU time, and stop it for you and prevent it from starting up until needed. This is not a task auto-killer.
Following these steps, my battery life went from what you describe to 24+ hours with medium usage. I absolutely never have battery issues anymore, and my backup battery? I never need it (so it's actually become a bit of a chore to swap out batteries and cycle them periodically to keep them fresh).
As far as form-factor is concerned, yeah... the S4 works alright one-handed, sure. Obviously, you have different sized hands from me, though.
My setup: LiquidSmooth ROM 2.9, running KToonSez' kernel with HIS recommended settings, plus 25mV across the board for stability (which amounts to a net -75mV undervolt). Absolutely pleased as punch.

I exchanged my LG G2 for the Galaxy S4, and couldn't be happier so far. Couldn't get comfortable with the G2.
In the past year, I've had a lot of phones; HTC One X, Note 2, Nexus 4, G2, and now the S4. To me the S4 feels best in hand, just a great size, with beautiful screen. The S4 is lightweight, and feels very comfortable in the hand with a case, I like the design of the black one it looks classy and cool. Not sure why so many people call this phone cheap and lame looking ? Once you have a cool looking case on it, the phone looks fantastic.
I just rooted it last night using the Kingo method, no ROM's yet, just stock, and deleted a ton of ATT and Samsung crap bloat, also installed Greenify, DroidWall, and running Nova launcher with the Axis icon theme. We'll see how battery life goes ? Trying to install AdFree but it won't connect to the server to actually activate it, been reading that's an ongoing issue the last day in other threads.
The G2 was nice, but just too heavy and large, as lame as that sounds. The thin bezels are almost too thin, afraid to crack damage the phone too easily. Plus 5.2" is just over that borderline of screen size I am comfortable with. The S4 is as big a phone I want, that's the limit, I don't want anything larger, but also nothing smaller, I think the S4 is just the right screen size, thinness and weight.
Overall I like the S4 a lot so far, more than the G2 as crazy at that sounds. And find the S4 more enjoyable than my Nexus 4. Only bummer is that I am on the MF3 - Mother Fukker firmware, so I am limited on ROM if I go that route, but so far happy enough just rooted on stock.

You should install safestrap along with a custom ROM you won't regret it. Did you get the 16 or 32 gig? 16 gig tends to be not that much internal space but it works out still. I'm using vision x stock ROM and couldn't be happier its way faster than stock, it also has ad-away already pre-installed and ktweaker on it along with no bloat. I was going to stay on my stock rooted rom also but got safestrap and a rom on it and couldn't be happier.

Thanks, I think I will take the plunge Just a little nervous on the whole Safestrap thing, but I replied to the thread with questions, it's mainly a 7 step process, looks pretty straightforward if I follow all of those steps to a 't'. I am sure one of those TW ROM's like SHO will be fast and smoother, maybe better battery life over stock ?

There's no reason to be nervous with safestrap its easy to use and it won't mess anything up as long as your on a different ROM slot than your stock. So leave your stock ROM slot alone. I was having problems with sho's newest ROM but its a great ROM altogether I just felt since he released it, there was still going to be some bugs so I'm just waiting a little longer to flash it again. But definitely faster, better battery life and smoother. I also use nova launcher prime and it flies! Lol also I think you wanted the s4 in the beginning but since the lg g2 was newer or you heard a lot of bad about the s4 you sent with the g2?

Can you please post the exact link to that ROM you are using. Want to make sure I am pointed int eh right direction not download a ROM that won't work on MF3 firmware. Thank you
Think I found that ROM, but not digiing the heavy metal crazy theme LOL Is SHO not stable enough to run a as a good daily ? It seems SHO was last updated in September ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305752

It has a stock ROM and a themed ROM which is the heavy metal one. Stock ROM is basically like your stock with a few tweaks. It might be stable now just download and try it yourself. It won't hurt anything to try so you'll be okay.

If I want to use the vision x stock ROM, and go with the stock theme, I would chose the download dated 10/01/13 ? There are two different downloads for the ATT MF3, looks like the theme version dated 09-22/13, and the stock dated 10/01, is that correct ?

I love everything in my G2 except low-light and action photos...
Also S4 is an awesome smartphone..just look at it's camera...But I hate amoled its unreal colours..IPS from G2 is much better!!!
Anyway it's 2 awesome smartphones

G2 vs S4
I have both. Love G2 for its Great Battery, Bigger and excellent display and Flexibility in ROMs. Camera in Low light not good.
S4 has the SD Card and removable battery, good camera. Locked up bootloader and virtually no options for modding. Battery life for me has not been good at all (I am on MJ6 and rooted and Have all multiple issues - not being able to install to SD card, battery life, etc)
I would go for G2 again.

On s4, passed on g2 cause of its button design and no SD card or removable battery....
bad thing about new s4 is the locked BL but I think your wife it wouldn't be too important I had s3 and s4 battery is amazing couldn't be happier with battery...
Also all the bloat garbage on the stock but once root its a lot better....
Rooted mf3 SHOstock

Coming back from the Note

I will be returning back to my S2 (m250k) from the note. I had a few screen issues so I'll be getting a full refund from the vendor.
If anyone here is thinking about upgrading to the Note, feel free to ask questions. I'll provide any insight that I can.
Note experience (in comparison of having owned a S2):
N7000 stock.
Pros:
- Huge, beautiful screen
- Perfect phablet size, I never take my laptop home anymore
- Stylus and note taking is amazing
- Battery life, much much better
Cons (very subjective):
- Doesn't fit my lifestyle. I'm hardly home so I don't get to use it as a tablet as much as I'd like to
- Inconvenient to use as a phone/sms machine. On the s2 I can send texts with one hand extremely easily. Everything I can do with one hand. Note requires both hands most of the time. (Send button is on the very far right.. I use my left hand and my thumb can't reach it unless I'm risking dropping the phone.
- Hard to take it out of pocket when sitting down. I was thinking about buying a watch because I didn't want to check the time on my phone haha.
- Not a very good media player for use at the gym... too big
- Currently it seems 3rd party launchers (adw, go launcher, etc) are all laggier than stock TW. I'm sure this will be fixed in the future.
- Not sure if this is a pro or con, but getting used to this size makes other phones look like phones made for toddlers.
- Low quality videos are blocky. It looks like huge pixels of black on the screen.
I'm very surprised how big the S2 subforum is. This is the first time coming to this subforum although I've had the S2 for 6+ months. I rooted yesterday and tinkered with it a little yesterday and it feels like a brand new phone.
On another note, what are your favorite roms currently for the SG2? There are so many to choose from I don't know where to start. Currently rooted with lulz kernel for m250k e02.
Glad to be back.
Flash CM9, best ROM imo

Hey welcome back to the S2 world
Well for me, I'm running on VillainROM 3.0 with SiyahKernel 2.6.4 and Pikachu's Thunderbolt script 2.3.5 - battery life is superb, signal reception is great, i can't complain... even if I got the twitch to try something else sometimes, I don't feel much like it because this phone steals the cake!!
Thanks everyone =).
Unfortunately I can't a kernel that doesn't support m250k due to my carrier (i'm in korea). So I'm currently using lulz korean kernel.
Noob question:
lulz kernel has a recovery built in, but it also has CMW recovery built in under -recovery- menu.
Which one am I supposed to use to flash the rom?
The S2 forum is so awesome, but I feel stupid and overwhelmed here haha.
Criskelo Rom is simply amazing, haven't tried CM9 but CM7 was terribly buggy, random reboots which doesn't sound all that bad but gets tedious eventually believe me, also hotspot problems and bluetooth problems as well. Criskelo has an abundance of modifications built in as well as option to change kernel and modem builds on the fly. Take a good look at the thread before you choose anything else, oh and don't bother with ICS leaked builds yet, its terrible, in fact its terrible on my wifes nexus s as well and that's official ota.

Get kTool from the thread here and use it to reboot into kernel's own recovery and downloadmode (also you can back up EFS and dump kernel, a very handy tool!)

[Q] Upgrading to GS4 from Epic 4G Touch? (GS2)

Hey Everyone,
Okay.. getting ready to upgrade my GS2 to GS4, but have a couple of quick questions.
1. I read that the GS4 was laggy when it first came out. Has Sprint fixed that in the stock ROM? Or does sac's rom fix it?
2. I read remember reading something about a camera issue on the purple GS4. Is there still an issue with that?
Thanks,
EB
It's kinda laggy still with the latest official rom. Many people might disagree with that statement. The more apps you install, the more lag it gets. My opinion is, the biggest improvement you will notice is the screen size and much higher resolution. If you have 4g LTE in your area, you should notice much higher online speeds when compared to 4g wimax. Other than that, IMO, the other improvements are negligible. A stock battery will last longer on a s4 than the s2. I've only ran stock roms so I can't give you any opinions on them.
No lag on this phone but when I try different kernels I sometime get lag but when I go back to stock kernel I have no issuses. That's my experience with this phone I came from the s3

NO lag whatsoever for me. My phone is ripping fast. Have unbelieveable GPS (which I sorely lackes on my Epic 4GT). Have stupendous LTE (when I get it) and everything just works.
I have tried most of the ROMs here (Sac's and Triforce are great!). But I need my phone to 100% funtional for work so I'm usually on a stock (or slightly modded) TW ROM.
While my battery life is great (often over 24hours with about 50% of that screen time), I am not a battery life thumper - it's 2013 folks and you have a $500+ device; buy another damn charger or battery. I prefer stability, speed and smoothness; in that order.
There are a few really polished TW ROMs here and also some AOSP/CM variants that are really comming along. My only issues with the latter have been problems with GPS and sometimes even data - both of which I rely on heavily during my work days.
This phone, being a sammy is very similar to the e4gt. If you spend some time going through all the posts you will very quickly pick up on some of the differences. Biggest being that on this device the boot, recovery and kernal are all seperate images. So you kernel doesn't have to be 'wrapped' in a recovery, you can mix and match to your liking.
Jump in and have some fun.
Good luck.

I recently made the same upgrade you're considering. While I loved my old E4GT the improvements in the GS4 are amazing and I love it. With that said it's not without it's issues, the lag you spoke of earlier is there sometimes it's not unbearable, but I definitely feel like Touchwiz is holding the hardware back (nothing the official CM wont fix!) battery life is fantastic, especially with Sacs rom. I get 20+ hours on a full charge, with heavy use it's more like <15. GPS locks fast, much faster than the Epic Touch and the screen is light years better.
I do notice this phone gets quite a bit warmer during regular use than the E4GT (which barely got warm, except for specific situations) but it's much better with Sacs rom than on stock.
All and all, you'll be happy with the upgrade and will not regret it.
Thanks for the info guys. I wiped my E4GT and put a tweaked stock on it (was CM10) and it actually fixed the GPS issues.. but now the phone reboots itself all the time and freezes and completely freaks out when i plug in my car charger... lol.. So this is a good excuse to upgrade..

I upgraded from an S2 to the S4 at the beginning of the summer. I mostly ran CM/AOKP based ROMS (usually BeanStalk or one of it's variants) on my S2, but after reading so many positive comments on the S4 forum about TW/Stock performance, I held off on flashing CM/AOKP and have been a very happy camper running Highway55's MF9 TW-based rom which I highly recommend (see my detailed post on the Highway55 rom thread that describes my basic configuration).
I don't notice any lag, and battery life has remarkably been improved over the S2. I hate to be tethered, so I always buy an extra battery. With my S2, I would swap my battery two or three times a day (I'm a heavy user), but with S4's remarkably improved battery peformance, I swap my battery maybe once or twice a week. GPS just works period. LTE is amazingly fast. This phone rocks!

How moddable is the G2? Galaxy Note user looking to switch

Hi everyone
I'm a long time SGS2 and a galaxy Note user, and lately I've been thinking about buying an LG G2 (unlocked international).
since I'm a power user who hates Samsung's heavy skin, and seeing how close LG's skin is to that of it's home rival, I need to know how open to modding and flashing the G2 is?
the N7000 was pretty moddable but use anything other than samsung's stock based ROMs, and you have to deal with sudden reboots and crashes, and that's the case with all AOSP ROMs for me (currently running OMNI ROM on it, and it still reboots out of the blue at times)
so is the LG G2 anay different? is it easy to flash new ROMs to? how stable are AOSP ROMs on it? any features to be lost? (like the BIONZ image sensor on sony's z1 for example).
also any other advice and opinions on the device would be highly appreciated
thx folks
Aosp are generally getting a lot better, a few reboots every day is to be expected, however. The phone is quite moddable, you can install custom recoveries and flash custom Roms, although the bootloader is locked.
You will miss out on quite a few features, but some of them can be flashed back. You might find stock best for you and since you are an sgs2 user I'm sure you will appreciate the fact that dorimanx develops kernels for this beast. Best of luck.

Features to be lost - IR blaster, Qslide, and what not if you're running an AOSP ROM. Knock on works for most AOSP ROMs but Knockoff only works for some.
There're still some bugs with the ROMs, yes, but most should be pretty stable for you to use your G2 as your daily driver.

So it's almost the same as the Galaxy Note, hmmm..that's useful info, thank you guys so much

close your eyes, buy the nexus 5 this is ocming from a X galaxy nexus user ! its easy as **** ! fastboot oem-unlock ,BANG root and do **** from fastboot ! while on the g2 its not that simple, its tough and many people have semi bricked their devices. so if your a flashahoilic like how i used to be, i suggest you get the nexus 5 . so why did i buy a g2 ? frankly speaking, it has everything i want to use in its STOCK ROM ! yup its a dafuq moment right there mate touch to wake, manual focus camera,a HUUUGE battery , good screen on time, a remote ( turned off the projector in college lectures ROFL etc etc ) i love this phone and just waiting for kitkat to be released officially. and also , this phone DOES NOT SLOW DOWN over time ! my friends note 2 got dam slow after about 2 weeks while the g2 is going just buttery smooth even on 4.2.2 . so it depends upon what you want

Haha! no man I'm not a flashaholic or anything I just want something that works and works smoothly, can you believe I never ever flashed anything on my SGS2? it just worked beautifully on GB, but then I got the note and all that changed, it was slow as ****! had to flash a tons of different ROMs on it! :/
hmmm..now I'm seriously considering the G2! so how's the RAM consumption? the LG UI looks heavy but you guys are saying it's light? like...finally lag free? yay! hmm, and how's the stability of stock? my friend's S4 randomly reboots even on stock, but my brother's HTC ONE never ever rebooted in the 4 months we've bought it
so is the G2 that stable with stock? and did LG improve it's record at software updates? do you expect to receive kitkat soon?
also, the 16 GB version is only 420$ where I live, while the 32GB version is 510$ unlocked, I'm thinking of getting the 16GB version just because if I go with the 32GB then the note 3 is just 70$ away hahahaha!
I don't install games, so I don't think storage would be an issue, what do you think? and is it different when installing ROMs? the 16 from the 32 GB version? I don't think it matters since flashing ROMs shouldn't affect the partitioning table (well unless you specifically flash a partitioning file!), but who knows how LG does things.
also...I think I'm getting either the Gold or the Red versions since they're Matte! any of you had an experience with those?
nice one witht he projector btw hahaha

I would generally consider the 32 gb option the better option here since it's really 10 gb of storage vs 24 gb of storage. You can't mess with partitions - at least nobody tried.
I would slam a case on it anyway since it's so fragile. The zero-gap screen technology makes the digitizer break if the screen breaks.

lucky I rarely drop my phone, and with something as big and heavy as the note to be only dropped 3 times in two years (on carpet when I'm lazily using it in bed ) I think I can manage a relatively small device just fine....but yeah a case is a smart idea I guess!
thx mate

i would most definitely go with the 32gb version. especially if you like to have a bunch of music files or videos on your phone. this phone has a sweet DAC in it, so it makes playing my flac files that much better. i have a 32gb g2 and i have 14gb of space left. if i had a 16gb g2 i'd have low space. g2 tweaksbox, g2 xposed and gravitybox [jb] give you everything you'd want on stock rom that aosp/cm have for jelly bean.

Alright, so ladies and gentlemen, it's time for an update:
I bought a white D802 32GB version a couple of days ago, but didn't really have much time to get online, so far I like it, the speed, the battery life, but there are also a few quirks, occasional stuttering (nothing major, just every once in a while), KNOCK ON doesn't always work from the first time for some reason, and the screen..even though great by any standard, but damn AMOLEDs have spoiled my eyes, I can notice the color shifting from angles and it bothers me at times!
but yeah.......I'm part of the LG G2 XDA club now thx for everything folks

Which one to replace Nexus 5? (Z1 vs G2)

I love the pure Google experience but internal memory and battery capacity of Nexus 5 is just killing me. I would go for G2, but I heard it struggles with poor internal memory performance. Can anyone confirm it with KK onboard? My N5 is .84 rw. Which one has better community support? I would probably flash cm/omni. And Im considering 16GB Z1 vs 32GB G2. I like the feeling of N5, and that's why Im a bit scared of Z1 huge frame, but stable and fully functional pure Google is the most important for me.
The lg g2 is the same hardware as the nexus 5 and it has worse support lg doesn't know how to make things without bugs and I don't know if I would go with Sony they are having financial problems maybe try a gpe galaxy s4 stock android easy bootloader unlock and easy to root and you get the latest from Google pretty quickly

I cant get S4 GPE in Poland, also S4 wakeup time is unacceptable for me.

What a bunch of crap, of all the brands I've used LG has been the best after the nexus line
Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk
This is my opinion it may be a bunch of crap from your point of view I'm just saying that although my galaxy s4 was a knoxed down piece of crap Samsung actually knows how to make things work properly I do not agree with Samsung's lock down everything so I switched to the g2 I have never had such a buggy experience on a stock ROM

If I were you I would wait for the HTC m8 looks like it might have nice hardware and hopefully it will be rootable who knows I've heard nexus 5 battery life not very good it must be software my g2 gets 2 days with mild to lite usage but if you get a g2 it might not be rootable depends whether it comes with kitkat but but you may not want to root

I have two days to decide What do you mean by saying "unrootable"? Do LG G2 with KK have locked bootloader / recovery or it's just a matter of time?

I believe LG G2 has a locked bootloader and the KK update just patched something that allowed us to install a custom recovery.

admit that LG is worst updater in software ever but if u look Z1`s lags (in main launcher, broswer (Chrome is perfect) but games has no lag ofc) which i`v seen, ull say LG is heaven

I've actually found that the internal memory on the G2 is incredibly fast. Especially if you flash roms/kernels. It flashes so fast that the first time I flashed a big rom like rooted stock (1.7GB zip size) that I thought something went wrong and it failed. Install furnace kernel and set the readahead to 1MB and I doubt you'll see faster nand flash memory in any other phone out there.

I think you must buy G2 if you feeling of N5. Anyway, Z1 is good looking but if you want to buy Z1 wait for Z2

Just bought a T-Mobile G2, had some questions regarding Development.

I'm a little confused about which forums and roms to follow for my particular model. Seems to be no original development for this version. Do the G2 forums have Roms that are universal with both the d801 (T-Mobile) and others (800, 802, etc...) thanks

Yes. I understand where the t-mobile thread is... I'm speaking more along the lines on this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/orig-development
Most of those roms, including beanstalk and mandhi rom show they are compatible with almost every carriers G2.

the original android development is all aosp and most people who make roms based on aosp give support to almost all models, there is also the http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development general thread which is mainly in general multiple device support/devices without dedicated threads

SlimKat on the G2 is super fast. I have a T-Mobile G2 as well. Only problem I had was camera took too long to capture sometimes. And images weren't as good as stock roms.

I'll give this a go whenever I decide to go back to AOSP. I lost my recovery going to TMO's official KK, and KDZ'ing back is a nuisance lol.

Had a question. I should be receiving my g2 tomorrow and I'm hung up on which rom to go with.
Most important features to me are camera & battery life.
In your experience, if you have any... I was looking at either running Pac Rom, SlimKat, or Mahdi rom.
Do you think I'm better off with a rooted stock based rom, and if so which one of those would you recommend.
I'm coming from a Nexus 5 on SlimKat and a Note 3 on jellybeans
Thanks

I'm assuming you've ran AOSP ROM's before so you know what that's like. So for me I came from a Nexus 4, I'm as much of an AOSP fanboy as you'll ever meet. The second I got my G2 I rooted it and flashed SlimKat. SlimKat is an amazing ROM, probably the best AOSP ROM for the G2, with Mahdi a close 2nd. It was almost perfect to be honest, the battery life was amazing. I could get 2 days with a charge and about 6 hours of on screen time. Now the ONLY draw back was that the camera sucked balls in comparison to stock LG ROM. While it worked fine 80% of the time, sometimes it was laggy, switching from FFC to rear would hang up, and shutter speed was slow. Quality was decent but not amazing for the pics. And this was the issue with any AOSP ROM.
Because of that, I went ahead and upgraded to T-Mobile's official 4.4.2 KK ROM and it has been very good. I use xposed to do a little modding, but ran it full stock for a week so far and I really like it. With NOVA launcher I'm having no problems, the camera is a tons better than AOSP. The cam app itself has some cool features and the quality plus shutter speed is so much improved. But of course there's a drawback... Battery life isn't as good as AOSP. I'm getting about 1/3 less than what I was used to. But one thing that's not really talked about on the G2 is how ridiculously fast this thing charges. I plug it in at like 10% left, leave my room for about 20 mins, come back and it's at like 58%. So because of that, the lessened battery life doesn't bug me. I still get well over a day on a full charge though, which is a HUGE upgrade in itself compared to my Nexus 4 where I had to charge 2-3 times a day.
Anyways, sorry for the mini rant. If you have another questions, feel free to ask! I've only had this G2 for 2 weeks, but finally getting the hang of the "what to know" for the device.

Man.. That's no rant Lmao that was more than I could have asked for.
I love aosp as well... My note 3 was on VZW so locked bootloader means no go.
My Nexus 5 was nice but the battery was terrible.
My other gripe was the as you said, the camera quality.
Can't believe they still haven't gotten that down yet. I saw that Google might be releasing a stand alone camera app and I believe opening up the api.. So I bet that will help for devs.
The only reason I'm hesitant to run the stock rom is bc coming from touchwiz, I'm not looking forward to that type of heavy hidious skin again.
Do they have a rooted, debloated stock 4.4.2 rom yet?
Thanks again for the help. Trying to hit the ground running with this phone

My advice is to run stock for a week and see how you like it. LG ROM is not bad at all, especially since I expected it to be very bad since I dislike TouchWiz so much.
Yes there's a stock debloated ROM, but newer G2's (like mine) can't run it. Only the official one works. just have to wait for root and recovery to come for KK.

I should add that the phone is coming to me with TWRP 2.7 and Paranoid Android latest Beta 3 nightly. Would it be possible for me to flash the stock debloated?

Oh okay, then good chance you can. Just flash it through TWRP and if you don't get white lines then you're good to go. Worse case scenario, you just wipe and reflash something else. Also, flash the KK radio before flashing the official KK ROM.

OK cool. With a phone with an internal battery.. How do I shut down and/or boot back into recovery manually?
Also.. Is the kitkat radio a T-Mobile specific radio listed in T-Mobile Android development?

I'll link you to the radio thread when I get home. When phone is off, press and hold the power and volume down. Then press press power button twice after you see the white fastboot screen.
