If i uncheck the vibrate option and an sms is incoming the sound would play. when i change to vibrate (not in options) my HD does not vibrate if an sms is incoming. When i check the vibrate option then my HD almay vibrate when an sms is incoming.
Anyone else with this problem?
same issue here, I'm always missing my text messages
No one else this bug?
That's the way it is made to work and I don;t think there's any fix for it at the moment. When ringer set to vibrate, on reception of SMS, the vibrate option is checked in the settings before vibration. Else, no vibration. I would recommend you have vibrate option turned checked always..

It is "1".
I change it to "0" and the vibrate works but the screen is now going on. Seems to be a problem with the standby.
Hmm, there seems to be no solution yet or are we the only ones with this problem?
i also got this problem and i find it very annoying
The weird thing is that it did vibrate the first few days i got my HD, but now it only vibrates when i get an sms when not in standby.
I previously owned a diamond and it got no problems with vibrating on incoming sms...
I hope this can be fixed
I hope this too, cause this "fix"

works only for SMS and not for MSN. This problem seems to be a standby issue.
i also got this problem. just for fun i activated sound for different actions and now suddenly my phone vibrates when i receive sms and e-mails!! no sound though! haven't tried msn.
well, this is excactly how i want my phone to act so i am happy, though i don't understand the logic ...
I have turned off vibrate for incoming calls. Yet, it seems half of the incoming calls still trigger the phone to vibrate, and I can't seem to find a pattern for which calls trigger the vibrate. Anyone else experience this?
I just put a question in for the same thing. Certain incoming calls will vibrate. I can not figure why or is there some setting I need to shut off. Will keep looking.
When my Galaxy Note is ringing, at first there is a short vibrate and more there is no vibrate although i've set vibrate function on always.but it is work well for notification such as SMS.
It is noticable that when phone is silent , vibration works well on notification and phone ringing.
Another problem is when i use GO SMS instead of defult message of Android. In the GO SMS Notification setting everything is ok means that i've set vibrate on always and sms rington on silent and disabeld android default notification but vibrate doesnt work.
I test my phone vibration from *#0*# but vibrate doesnt work in this test.
Really i dont know this is hardware or software problem. Phone Rom is JPKK2 ( Official Rom).
How can i fix it??
Just got a brand new Note3. Loving it save for the way it handles notifications with vibration mode.
It seems to default to the long "Basic Call" vibrate tone no matter what I configure in the settings. I find this tone to be quite harsh if I'm lying in bed, for example, and get a message. This is true for both SMS and gmail, so far. Further, I tried disabling vibrate notifications in some apps and they persist regardless and always with the same long vibrate tone.
Is this a known issue that others are experiencing? If not, do you have any ideas how I can properly configure vibrate mode to work properly?
Thanks.
Ok this is a really odd problem that I am having with my galaxy S4, running 4.4.2 NO custom roms/root or anything like that.
So whenever I get a phone call (this just started happening a few weeks ago) and I'm on the 'vibrate' profile, the phone will get the incoming call with the person's face on the screen showing me that the call is coming in, like normal. However, the phone does not vibrate at all, in fact, I see the silent logo on the top notification bar (even though the phone was on vibrate) and once I answer the call, the silent symbol is replaced by the vibrate one. This is only occurring with phone calls, not texts or other app notifications. So to recap: phone will not vibrate for incoming calls even though it is set to do so. Anybody have any idea of what is going on?!
Thanks.
