[Q] How can I make an image from Google my wallpaper? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Lets say I do a Google image search for "New England Patriots logo" and I want it to be my wallpaper. I download an image and it's all distorted/blurry/doesn't fit once I try and make it my homescreen wallpaper on my GS4. How do I so to make it good quality and fit the screen? Thanks!

If I remember correctly, the size you want for the image is 1920x1080.
You can always d/l an image to your computer, resize it and them transfer it to your phone then set it as your wallpaper

Yes that's what I was talking... computer to phone. Thanks brotha, will try this out using irfranview!

I really like this Wallpaper Maker app from the playstore. You can resize and center you picture how you want, and use it to help put together collages. Once you save it it should fit your screen perfectly. I use it all the time.
Check it out.

[Q] Wallpaper Scaling

Hi Guys
Not had my SGS long but I wondered if anyone knew what the res should be for wallpapers and also why does the gallery seem to screw up all my pictures when I set them as the wallpaper!?
Thanks for your help
Use ES explorer.
Ok so Ive found the image in downloads within estrongs file explorer but I cant seem to find an option in the app to set as wallpaper anywhere?
Cheers.
open the gallary, choose your picture, options=> set as =>background

Thats how Ive been doing it so far but that method is producing the really poor quality image on my 2nd screenshot.
I have also noticed that Flikie wallpapers app has no problem scaling full screen wallpapers but the default gallery app only allows me to select a small portion of the area of the whole image and then blows up that selected area to fill the screen, which looks bloody awful
1. Wallpaper size for SGS is 960*800
2. On your first screenshot, try to put one finger on one orange line and another finger on the opposite orange line. It should let you change the size of the piece of your image which will be use as wallpaper
(sorry for my poor english...)

Hello
I have tried that but I can only select a small part of the image. Perhaps I should try resizing my image
Cheers
EDIT - Just noticed that my image is only 320x480 anyway so now Im even more confused as to why it wont full screen for wallpaper.
wallpapers must have 960*800 for good results/sharpness
then chosen the size with the orange rectangle to the max
thats how it works

Ah so my image is too small. Thanks for your help
I have wallpapers in 1280x800. I try to cut them but after that wallpaper is very very poor quality. Same as in gallery after zooming...
Just found this, will give it a go and see if it cant make my pics a bit better.

While you're viewing a photo with estongs - just tap & hold for 2 seconds, and a "set as wallpaper" message will show up, tap it and viola!

[Q] wallpaper resolution

hey guys, im now using htc legend. i have a problem with their wallpaper function. when i try to set the wallpaper by using my own picture, it came out a green box for us to crop and select which part to display the image for wallpaper. can i ask what is the optimal / best resolution? the green box cant seem to stretch to the whole image, most of the time half of the picture only. i m looking forward to display the whole picture as my wallpaper.
sry for my bad english =[ any1 help plx
try getting pics with a resolution of 320*480.
market: wallpaper set & save
640*480 is the best resolution for your wallpapers, .png files will give the best result when using wallpaper set & save

Wallpaper set&save doesn't work, or better...it works but not in the correct way. If you read the comments on the market you'll see. The guy that made it said (lot of time ago) that he is working to make it works with Android 2.1 & 2.2.
I've lost my faith in that, so I just resize by myself the wallpaper I want to 640x480.
it just works great for me on my stock legend with android 2.1
dunno what your talking about :S

Wallpaper Question.

This may be insanely easy to figure it, I presume it is all on my naivete regarding Android 2.2.
My hd2, as most here, is 4.3" at 480x800. I have found a few wallpapers I liked on google images and have resized them appropriately. Yet, when go to set said photo as wallpaper, it only lets me select a small portion of it and that portion is then grainy/blurred at the new resolution.
I did try finding exactly 480x800 wallpapers just to see if that was a problem, yet it only lets me select that small portion of the total image.
My question is, how do I get a 480x800 image and a superb quality, to be set as wallpaper in its entirety over my home screens without only getting just a portion or that portion being stretched to said blurriness?

make the wallpaper 960x800 should make it fit correctly
thank you for the reply.
You can resize the selection box...
There is a free market app called zedge that lets you download free wallpaper and ringtones. There is a lot of cool stuff in there. Try it out.
I use Zedge, select the Evo as my phone and go crazy.
When you select your wallpaper, press on the outside of the box and drag it out in order to use the entire image.

Here's the G2 boot image

Hey folks, I just extracted the boot image from the G2's bootanimation.zip file and thought I'd share. It's a nice, high-res picture, so it would work perfectly for a wallpaper or whatever.
I may try to create a desktop-size wallpaper from this later. If I do, I'll post it here. Enjoy!
Can you edit it, replace it and have it custom???? I did on my Mogul once lol so just wondering.
tks for the boot image capture
never have figured what size to resize images for wallpaper use on our phone - i've tried the 480X800 our screen is supposed to be, i've even tried simply adjusting the physical size, and gone down to 1.5" X 3.0"
no matter what i do, it will display a nearly rectangular image (horizontal on the long dimension) and then crop to the text portion of that image
i know i can expand the cropping square but still i can only get a horizontally oriented rectangle - and then when i install the captured portion as a wallpaper, the text "G2" is humongeous and pixelated
any guidance for the photoshop challenged? I've got adobe photoshop CS3
Try resizing it to 960x800 and tell me if it works right. The phones screen is 480x800, and the wallpaper scrolls 50% to the left and 50% to the right.
Sent from my G2.
Thanks!

[Q] Wallpaper issue

When I use gallery/select/set as/wallpaper and crop as necessary, the displayed wallpaper is always larger than what I cropped to so not all of it shows up, hope that makes sense
What am I doing wrong?
I can't answer your question about how to crop your images for wallpaper, but I use the Mulitipicture Live Wallpaper app and it shows (and rotates) my photos so that they fit the screen.
ok, will have a look at that.
