Were you running a custom CWM recovery before? Just curious.
Try this thread....

See if it'll install one of those packages.

Does Odin say pass! when you flash the recovery? If not, redownload the file and try different versions on yuor tablet.

If you have ics 4.0.4 not 4.0.3 so your problem might be that a script rewrites the stock recovery again so flash cwm via odin in download mode when pass then go to recovery manual after disconnection of computer via volume up+power then flash root in cwm

Please use the proper punctuation. For a couple weeks now I've been trying to understand what you post. Its hard for people to read it when sentence runs into sentence.
Periods and comma's man! They're needed!

I had the same problem, because I had already taken the 4.0.4 update. The problem I (and I suspect the others) were having is the reboot after Odin installs the CWM. It happens so fast, there's no time to unplug the tablet and do the button dance to boot into recovery. As a result, the normal boot goes through, and runs the install-recovery.sh that Ryan79 mentioned in system/etc, restoring stock recovery.
Here's how I solved it: On Odin, uncheck "Auto Reboot". Install CWM6. When it goes green, unplug the tablet (still in "download" screen). Reboot manually into recovery (hold power + Vol. left, release power, hold vol. left until CWM screen comes up). I did this straight from the "download" screen. The tablet powered off after a few seconds of holding the power button, then came up to the samsung screen, then I released the power button and continued to hold the volume button until CWM6 loaded. I installed the cwm-root-gtab2.zip file. I selected YES
when the "Stock Reboot Fix" question appeared. Rebooted from recovery, Successful root! Looks to me like the "fix" simply renames the install-recovery.sh, removing the ".sh" at the end. I have now rebooted a couple of times normally, and can still access CWM6 through the buttons.

Right, so I just rooted my iconia using this method:
http://theunlockr.com/2012/09/17/how-to-root-the-acer-iconia-a500-tablet/
And then I used this method to install CWM Recovery on it:
http://theunlockr.com/2012/09/17/how-to-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-the-acer-iconia-a500/
However, after I install the recovery image and hit Reboot into recovery, once it loads up to the initial Acer loading screen, the following text appears in the top left-hand corner:
Booting recovery kernel image
Recovery verified failed ...
Then it just stays on that screen until I hold the power button to turn it off.
Can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong? I'm just trying to install randomblame's version of JellyBean
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737205
I'm currently running 4.0.3.
If any more info is needed, please ask. I could really use the help.
same problem exactly

You cannot root and flash recovery on ICS YOU MUST have the unlocked bootloader Everything you need is here
So i have a Acer Iconia A500 and i have Android 4.0.3 Kernel Version 2.6.39.4+. I want to root it but when ever i try to get it into Recovery mode i get a android on its back with a hatch open and a triangle coming from it. I have performed a factory reset and still am unable to get into recover. I tried the Acer Recovery App and it says it does not recognize the model number. I have a buddie who works in in a tech support place and told me to download "SD Acer AV041 A500 RV17RC02 PA CUS1" but i am unable to find that file. If somebody could help me out that would be great.

I had a similar issue and I had to install an unlocked bootloader. I just installed Civato's ICS 4.04 RE-FLEX and got around the the issues. You will need to installed the TWRP 2.13 Recovery that includes the unlocked bootloader first. Do a search in A500 Development section for the ROM below.
[ROM][KERNEL]ICS 4.0.4-RE-FLEXxx + CiVz_StormFlex OC Kernel (13-Mar-2013)
cant access fastboot and recovery, help please
no section for the a200 so i got nowhere to ask so please help.
help: acer a200 cannot enter into recovery or fastboot
i got into recovery and flashed the acer stock rom (i think its a honeycomb 3.2.1) then i mistakenly flashed onyx kernel which is for ICS. when i rebooted the tablet, an error message appears : "boot verified failed..." When i tried to get into recovery by pressing volume down and power, the following text appears:
SD update cmd: recovery
--update package = SDcard:update.zip
booting recovery kernel image
recovery verified failed
i tried to boot into fastboot by plugging it into a computer and update its drivers when the "starting fastboot us download protool" appears but nothing happend.
also, the stock rom i flashed lcoked the bootloader.
what should i do. help please.
Yesterday I installed unlocked bootloader v8, TWRP recovery and rooted my device. But now I can't boot in recovery, when I try bootloader says: "booting recovery kernel image", next thing I see a android logo with a red caution mark coming out of his belly.
Can someone help me? What am I doing wrong?

Because you still have the stock android recovery installed.
And that's more than likely because you probably restarted your tab, under a stock ICS rom, and didn't delete the boot.recovery.p and/or install-recovery.sh files in the System directory. In this case, every time you boot into the OS, it overwrites your current custom recovery, and installs the stock recovery.
Delete those 2 files, then flash your custom recovery.

I installed the latest version of CWM after finally rooting my Note 3 (N900T). Now, when I try to boot into recovery, it does the infamous loop boot with the message "RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING". I essentially have to pull the battery, reboot into Download Mode, then hit Volume down to boot up.
Did I miss something in the process?
