Today I updated my sprint s5 software using the ota update. After I rooted the phone using the cf autoroot method and now an annoying message below the brightness telling me that my powersavings mode is on is there. Theres also a little battery icon when the notification bar is not pulled down. I can clearly tell my power saving mode is on because it is green and lit up. Is there anyway to get rid of it without disabling my powersaving mode? I really dont want to un-update the phone. Please and thanks.
Xposed wanam or gravity box will do it

Thanks. I never even knew what the xposed framework is until today. I installed the wanam and theres no specific feature about that powersaving mode message below my brightness bar. Theres a lot of useful customization options though and I think we're on the right track. Thanks alot.
After installing xposed framework, i used the gravity box(kk) for kit kat and disabled specific notifications under the notification bar menu. Thanks again
Can you turn this off without rooting?

I would also love to know! The last OTA for tiawan has this horrible icon/notification too and I like to leave powersave on
I turned it off with out exposed by long pressing the settings in multitasking, then app info and turning off the notifications. I then turned notifications back on as to not miss any other setting notifications whatever they may be and the power saving notification was still gone. It comes back if you turn off power saving mode then back on. But hey it seems to be a way to turn it off with out root becuase i cant find the specific app that does it not to mention most people say that setting would most likely be grayed out.
How to set your phone on silent mod with lollipop ?
Do i have unlock the phone every time to lower the volume or pull down the notification?
I used to just hold the power button then select the mode i want >.< when the phone is locked.
This is a step backward IMO
am too need silent mod Lollipop note 4 n910f
This one with the power button is not present anymore.
The silent mode itself is now called "Interruptions".

Interruptions may be a useful feature but I don't see why it couldn't work alongside Silent mode, it's ridiculous. Well, I can live with Vibrate but it's just the logic behind this move that escapes me.
Silent mode is present on Note Edge Lollipop leak. Weird...
like @Yathani stated, I used hold power to switch quickly to silent without unlocking always. I'm confused why, its a step back!!
That move that Google did with silent mode is ridiculous....I don't see the point in that.

It's funny to read all comments on the Android bugtracker about googles latest move on lollipop silentmode. Its like when they removed sdwrite access in KitKat all over again https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=79445 I wonder how many Android users got late at work because of this move of Google in Lollipop haha
Okay i found the silent mode.
Pull down the notification with two fingers.
Look for the star icon which is the priority mode and long click.
Then on the interruption for everything
Now go pack to the notification and when you click the start icon twice, it will turn to circle with dash inside.
This is your new silent mode
Stupid i know but you have to deal with it
I don't have a star icon. What is the name of it?
edit: oh, I had it already turned to something else - "All".

?? There are no sound options available on the note 4 when you press and hold the power button. I don't see this interruptions thing either. Just an incredibly annoying inability to tuen off unwanted vibrations as the next best thing to silent mode... I've resorted to using airplane mode at night to shut my phone up!! WTF GOOGLE???

Interruption notifications option is located and can be configured under sounds settings. It can be activated and adjusted easily with new quick tile in the top bar. The only minor things is you can't activate it anymore by holding the power button so you need to unlock your phone first [emoji6]
Attention
Don't try what I have said in the previous post. This caused me to arrive late to work due to alarm being on silent as well.
Very very stupid

lol,
Well silent mode wil be back in 5.1 so bare with it for now hahaha
Android 5.1 would be launched by the end of February 2015, and a second, completely separate source, also privy to important information regarding Android updates, confirmed it. But to have the firmware shipping on new devices in the first week of February is a nice surprise to all of us.
Not only that, this is allegedly a rather large update with many interesting new features. See the changelog provided to us (from mid-December) below:
Silent mode added after missing on Android 5.0
General improvements in system stability
Improved RAM management
Fixes for sudden app closures
Improved battery management
Excessive consumption of network devices when used Wi-Fi fixed
Issues with wireless connections fixed
Problems with Okay Google function solved
Notifications problems solved
Some sound problems experience by certain devices fixed
Install the Volume Ace widget :

By clicking the widget you can switch to normal, Vibrate and mute mode. You can also configure separately every mode.

there is no silent mode on lollilpop 5.0.1, so a widget cannot do that.
This is a very strange thing that happened to me today. I am not sure what I hit from the outside of my phone to put it into vibrate mode but I noticed the following afterwards:
When I turn the ring volume all the way down it vibrates and shows the vibrate symbol only. I could have sworn there are 2 modes here silent or vibrate. Why is it forcing vibrate? In my settings I have vibrate on call turned off.
I was playing around with the Do Not Disturb features, but not sure how this could affect something like this.
Any ideas? Can people please confirm that on their Nexus 6P when they turn the volume all the way down they don't see a vibrate symbol, but a silent symbol (the tune with the / through it). I want to make sure I am not losing my mind.
My phone is on Android version: 6.0.1
I get vibrate (square with lines on the outside symbol) and if I click volume down again I go to DND. Sounds like you changed a setting in DND options maybe

What you just described is exactly what I get I think. If I go down to the bottom I get the vibrate symbol, if I hit down again I get DND. Does this make sense? I guess DND is silent? I swear on my Nexus 6 there was a Tune with a / through it regardless of DND settings.

Sounds like how mine works, and I'm totally stock. DND is pretty much same as silent but with alarms and I think you can adjust other settings as well. Haven't messed with it much, but sounds like yours is working properly. Did you have MM on your N6? If not, I don't think Lollipop had DND

Can't remember what my Nexus 6 had, but I am pretty sure DND works slightly different in the latest version of Marshmallow. I like what they did with it though, a lot more flexibility. Thanks for confirming that I'm just going crazy and that my phone is functioning properly.
Hello.
I'm using a rooted Verizon s5 running lollipop. Is there a way to disable system vibration like jellybean had? Even if in app settings vibration is turned off, notifications still vibrate. It's quite annoying. Is it possible to enable the normal vibration mode, where system doesn't dictate what vibrates, in lollipop? Possibly some kind of xposed module or app?

Gravitybox?
Hey again lads, as the title says i have some issues with my notification toggle..
Mute and vibrate is working fine but when ever i try to unmute with the toggle it just stays on the previous state.
If i reboot the phone in vibrate state it is in vibrate state after reboot again.
If rebooting with the toggle in unmute state it is unmuted on reboot but not before that!
So could it be a software issue i can fix somehow?
- I tried updating from 10 to 11 in hopes that it would fix something but no.
- No dust in toggle.
- it has been working flawlessly before.
Anyone got some tips?
Thanks

We have another topic with the same issue, you can check it, it affects many of us unfortunately.
Have also seen it....
I found a temporarily work-around so you dont need to restart your phone to disable silent og vibrate mode. (WITH ROOT)
- Download Indianets sound Tile in app store.
- Click emulate Oneplus Alert Slider (root)
- Grant access.
