Not to be rude, but its a frequently asked question. Alot of other users are annoyed, but please try and read my FAQ thread in my sig. It will answer almost any question about any Windows Phone 8 device. If it isn't ask anyways and the op will get updated.

Lol no.
Its completely his choice if he want to ask a question by making a thread or in help thread.
This is a question and answers section so giving a answer is your first priority.
@Op
Every new update has stbility fixes and some sort of improvement.
You cant tell its pro's and con's without actually using it. Just give it a try and see it yourself.
Ps. Next time you have a question consider asking it in help thread by deadly instead of making new thread.
That way your chances of getting asnwered increases.

U seem to misunderstand but he created a thread a while earlier asking a question couldn't he have posted in that thread also instead of create two threads a few minutes apart to ask questions or better yet post in the help thread as u suggested
My post was meant as a precautionary post so that he didn't create yet another thread to ask a question and if u read my post I attempted to answer his question anyway do your post has not a inkling to stand on

He has the right to create new threads for his questions and if they are split in seperate threads, better and if they are not posted in some crappy help thread of 100k replies even better.

Authority? I can call anything however I want. The "crappy" was just a figure of speech, no insults were intended.
You guys need to quit telling people to post all questions on a single thread when we have a whole board dedicated to it.

Once again, I never insulted anyone. To make it clear, I'm going to show you what I meant to say in that post in other words:
"We are posting on a thread located at the Q&A board which is dedicated for question threads to be posted by people.
People need to stop forcing the newbies to post on a help thread with replies 'pls post ur questions at help thread!!1' when we've got a whole dedicated Q&A board that's purpose is to have questions posted in threads so that we won't have just 1 thread with 1,000 replies that's a huge mess question after question, answer after answer.
I stop here, I see no point in arguing about this anymore, SGY community will always be like this.

Hello guys.
(I tried to post 3 links but I couldn't since I'm a new user)
I recently upgraded my Note 3 from KitKat to Lollipop using this firmware and following some steps on sammobile.
I thought that I had rooted my phone but apparantly not, as a kind redditer explained to me here my thread was called "supsersu doesnt work since i upgraded to 5.0" on the /AndroidQuestions section.
He also adviced me to join XDA forums if I need help and that's why I am here. Basically I need to root my Note 3 to version 5.0 using Odin. The only problem is that I have Odin on my computer ( Here was a picture of my Odin map on my computer ) but I cant see the root file there? So my question is basically: How/Where do I find the root file?
I tried searching some on the forum but I guess my searching skills are terrible as I couldn't find something (and I'm pretty sure it should be somewhere here, so yeah my searching skills probably suck).
A huge thanks in advance!

Anyway, since you "helped" me I'll help you back. But since I can't post links I'll just tell you to go to google and search for "How to not be a ****".
Good luck.

I wrote a thread and asked politely for help and I explained that my technological skills were bad. I even wrote:
"I tried searching some on the forum but I guess my searching skills are terrible as I couldn't find something (and I'm pretty sure it should be somewhere here, so yeah my searching skills probably suck)."
And still you gave me a cocky lmgtfy link. Do you know how to read and understand English? Cause else u wouldn't have sent that link. Unless you just wanted to be a complete ****. And judging from your replies in this thread (and some other) it's obvious that you're just a ****.

The answer to this is in like 19 threads on this forum and 1,000,019 threads on XDA in general.
I can answer it. Yes it will work. Nothing about unlocking a bootloader has anything to do with xposed.

If you have a question, which you can't find an answer for via Google, you're welcome to ask, but please not for questions, that have been answered millions of times. The usual forum rules, as they hold on every forum.
Oh, and Google also finds threads on XDA.

So instead it should have been use the forum's search function and not go outside of the site for your answers. Oh, and XDA is'n't always listed on top of the searches through Google so again leading people away.
Either way not my problem.

Lol which one? Do you mean this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-8-pro/how-to/guide-photochrom-filter-enabler-t4112519
The thread was locked as the op never posted a link to the magisk module.
The other thread discussed two ways to get photochrome back the non root way doesn't work (I tried).
Sorry if you think I am lazy and that it's a shame that I am a senior member. I have already looked at every section here for it and haven't found any viable way.
I just find it strange that you would exert any energy in replying to my post even though you weren't going to help in any way and in fact started acting rude for no reason. Like if you don't know then don't bother posting, it's that simple and quite embarrassing for you.

Actually at the time of posting initially it wasn't locked. I don't come on XDA to check on threads when I don't need to. It's a lot quieter these days. I have an actual job to do...
Plus to answer your second question, I would rather exert energy advising someone to do something themselves instead of me doing it for them. Especially when it's just a case of looking..it aids the growth of XDA in a positive way instead of the same questions being asked 100 times.
Bottom line is the locked thread is a thread based on what you need, the OP has an XDA account so why not ask them? Or look through Magisk??
Someone not looking for something for you isn't rude btw it's calling out laziness, that's an observation, nothing rude about it.
In fact I find you talking to me like I'm your employee to me! Is rude.
I'm not doing this back and forth anymore with you, read the rules of XDA, searching is one of the top suggestions as most information is out there.

Yes, there was no download link for the magisk module, no matter what anyone says. Moderator closed the thread due to that fact. There was NEVER a download link provided. Don't let one bad apple who likes to run their mouth discourage you. It's ok to ask a question. It's ok to not be able to find an answer. It's OUR responsibility to provide help, especially a senior member to another member, n00B or vet of xda.

You could not be more wrong.
I advised that there was a thread, the work has obviously been done. The thread was a placeholder whilst it was uploading.
If you think that asking an obvious question is the right thing to do on XDA then you're mistaken.
Asking a question is fine yes but to say it's "our responsibility" to answer? No you're bang on wrong.
If someone knows an answer then yes provide it, but don't make the mistake of thinking that XDA members are obligated to because no one is, it's out of the goodness of their heart, nothing more.
And lol I'm not a bad apple. I've committed years to helping users on XDA, I don't have to prove myself to anyone. Take a look at my previous posts and guides which there had been hundreds of.
The short answer is:
The chap who set the placeholder will have the answer. If not then there is no answer, perhaps downgrade.
As for someone searching instead of you finding it yourself.
Take a little look at this video
one plus again fooled us, they added a software filter which simulates like infrared photography, that too in outdoors, and it uses 48 mp main camera. So if you want to get 5 mp IR camera functional by root and props, #Dont_update_to_10.5.11.

No, honest. The reason I posted here was bcos someone said i was asking in the wrong forum. There is no reason to post the same question if I have already seen ur reply.
