I seem to get quite a bit of noise in my lite shoots. I wish there was a manual mode to set iso and so on. I use auto and none of the other modes interest me besides hdr, but that doesn't work for kids that can't sit still

All of them except golf. I find the best group face to be amazingly useful for group shots.
I'm massively annoyed by the removal of night mode and turning it into that stabilization option. Lowlight pics look like everyone is made of grease pens.
Auto ,360 photoshpere and best face are my fave and most used.

Plenty of third party apps do. Just browse Play store. Not familiar with many other than stock JB AOSP camera.

I absolutely detest the Stock camera. I'm a professional photographer, I don't need the moron who has never seen a camera to decide for me what setting I must use!

Hi everyone,
Am I the only one having an issie with the pinch to zoom functionality in Google Maps? When I pinch to zoom, the "large" picture is zoomed in and then it disappears for the higher resolution image of te area to load. The problem is that it loads the detailed image of another area, which is relativelty cluse to the one I intended to see.
For example: I am trying to zoom in and see my house. When I pinch to zoom, I can see the low res image of my house. This image disappears and instead of loading the high res image of my house, it loads one of anoter house 2-3 blocks away. This happens regardless of you zooming into a city or a house. The image always moves. Is there a solution for this?

Are you talking about specifically Satellite view?
As far as the regular map tiles are concerned, I am positive it is the same experience I have when on my EVO 4G.

Yeah pinch-zoom when zooming in is completely useless in Google Maps. If you figure out how to fix it please let us know!

Ok so I'm wondering if there is a app that will let me take a still image from a video on my phone. I tryed pausing it at the part and using shoot me. But the pics are always blank..

I'm not sure if this applies to android, but there is a sort of "anti piracy" measure that comes with how video files are played on windows and mac systems. taking a screenshot of your desktop always returns a black screen of where the video is at. There are some softwares out there for pc and mac that can override the settings, but I do not know of one for android. There's probably one, i just dont know it.
I've used an app called "freeze frame" to do what you want.

I come from a Galaxy S and every time I ser the sh*t of camera app is on AOSP... Dotes anyone know a port from other phone or a better camera app.

AOSP are the only ones that work with little flaws. Try searching for camera apps here but most of them have a lot of extra features which we might not find useful.

Seems to me you're looking for Samsung's signature slightly-exaggerated-color-depth-and-out-of-control-shadow thing, which is pretty common in people coming from a Galaxy phone. I'd recommend Vignette on GPlay; that app will get you the picture quality you're looking for.
Stock camera is solid if you ask me and I take high-end photographs for a living, haha--no fluff no nonsense, it's all in the know-how etc

I too i'm interested in some kind of optical reader/app, it doesn't need to be the samsung made one, but if it works, thats good for me.
Unless its some kind of hardware limitation, from the camera, huge amounts of ram or cpu power, theres no problem trying it.
The first step its taking the app onte the note... Someone tried it already?

I've recently noticed that whenever I type a wrong unlock code, the phone makes the camera shutter sound. If the phone is taking pictures, where do those pictures go?
I don't have a security app that does that. Thanks.

You do not see them in the Gallery? Maybe in you login to your Google account in a browser and look for "Device Manager"...

nope, i use avast but ive checked the settings and it doesn't have anything like that. Maybe is a factory setting?
