Install Elixir from the Play Store. You should be able to disable the sensor.

[Q] Nexus 7 3g Auto sleep/wake function

Hi,
I got a Nexus 7 3g from Canada and purchased a flip case in India which advertised that it's a smart cover for auto screen wake/sleep. However using this flip case it is not working and would like to know if the Nexus 7 3g every came with that feature of auto sleep/wake when used with a smart cover (like an Ipad). Can someone please confirm if it is working for your Nexus 7?? If yes, how can I check if it's working in mine?? (any other way to check if it has the auto sleep/wake function, other than using another smart cover)
Any help and enlightenment will be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Get a magnet and try for yourself. Location of sensor in video: http://youtu.be/wx30f6XV-Bk
Hi,
Tried that with a magnet and strange that it's not working.. Is there a possibility that Google stopped including the sensors?? Or does it differ since the version I have is from Canada?? Can someone who have recently purchased confirm...

Hi
recently am facing issues with this s view.
I am not using a s view cover but still the phone shifts to s view suddenly. But only for a second or so and again comes back to normal.
this happens quite often for me when am just holding the phone. Or trying to make a call.this is annoying.
Is my s4 broke.. am worried.
please help me out to solve this
You have to move your phone in a figure 8 position in the air about three times to calibrate your compass for it to work properly.
The flip view cover contains a magnet which screws with the compass, rendering it useless. If you're using the cover remove it and see if it helps.

Was that answer for me.... please let me know... how to work this out and how does this work
No dude. It was for the person trying to calibrate their compass.
Calibrations doesn't help ...
I've got CM 5.1 + newest GAAPS and calibration of compass last only for few seconds-2/3 minutes tops and then it's gone and compass again showing wrong directions not even restarting Google Maps - (usually 180* degree opposite to the actual direction). Funny thing, when I downgraded to original Orange Kit Kat 4.4.2 compass worked precise so It assured me, that there is not problem with hardware only software. I cannot use: *#0*# because my I9505 says "Problem with the connection or wrong MMI code" (translating from polish).
All other things including GPS, accelerometer and other sensors works perfectly well.
Anybody know the solution?

Magnetic Sensor is driving me insane

Hi all. I've got a nexus 7 (first one) and the magnetic sensor is driving me insane. I've got magnetic mounts on my car dash and have metal plates stuck to the back of my tablet so I can use it as sat nav, music, etc...... But if I don't position the tablet just right it turns the screen off. I really need to disable the magnetic sensor. It is rooted and running custom rom but I haven't a clue how to disable the magnetic sensor. Anyone know? I've looked around on here and Google but nothing. Thanks all.
Just stripped my nexus down to find the sensor and its just behind the glass but its built into the LCD if you look closely it looks as if the LCD has been positioned off centre that's where the magnetic switch is positioned there is no way into it without cutting into the LCD case

I really need a software mod to disable it tbh as its still under warranty. I did see something on here about a system folder then LID folder but I tried changing the name of folder to disable it but it wouldn't work. Surely someone knows how to do it via altering a few lines of text or a flashable zip. Thanks.

Try asking whoever wrote your ROM or kernal (if your not on stock) they must have written in support for the sensor so presumably they would know how to "break" it

You should install xposed framework and MagnetOff Module (you can find tutorials on xda)

[Q] Help!! any one with gionee e7

Can anybody with Gionee e7 on this forum help me.
i need a simple test to be done on the handset
i am facing problem with the gyro sensor of my current device. (i need that for a app i am developing)
i tested the sensor using a app named Android Sensor box available on play store.(goo.gl/f81PZN)
you can check the video here ( youtube.com/watch?v=YvEkdOrarjo ) for the exact problem i am facing
you can see in the above video that the cube keeps on spinning even while the phone is stable.
It should be stable and only rotate as you move your phone.
Could some one please test this on their Gionee e7 and post the results here.
i want to be sure before purchasing the device that it is not having the same problem.
help will be much appreciated.
Let me know if any one needs any further help regarding carrying out the test
Regards
No problems here, the cube emulates the phone's movement and does not spin at all.
Cant seem to attach anything here. But I'm on stock 4.2.2 (Vietnam).
Let me know if you need more info.

And I found out that the auto brightness is not working either although the proximity sensor is working fine when I check using *#0*#.
Using stock 5.1.1, tried factory reset too..
Please let me know if u hv any idea what seems to cause this problem.
Thanks

I think something magnetic, I was able to activate it without the back part even snapped on, it's something in the 'spine' part afaik.

The magnet were located at the bottom left of the flip cover...
I think there's a magnetic sensor at that location but I nvr saw how it looks like before...
The longer you wait messing about with it, the more likely they're going to think you broke it because you didn't send it back immediately
