if your APN is pta than change it to phone. May need to create new APN with all the same settings but change the APN to phone from pta.

[Q] How to disable data please?

My dad has the Defy and I have tries to put a toggle on that toggles data on and off but even when he switches it off it automatically turns back on later on and starts using his data.
So do anyone know a better way to data off and on?
Thanks

Does this work for you? As I gave tried a few and they all do the same thing, they look like they're working then it just turns itself back on

You can use APNdroid
You can use APNdroid, it is very good!!!
if youre using stock froyo (2.2.1) theres already an option built in the settings.
I think it was under settings, then Data administrator and then Data delivery ? (i have it in spanish so sorry..dont know the REAL names...)
That should do the trick and don't need anything else.
Of course....APN doas the trick xD
disable data on the settings then reboot it, should work

I didn't need to put in an APN for T-Mobile it automatically worked.

You have tmobile or straight talk tmobile sim card? The straight talk prepaid has different apn settings than tmobile prepaid.

I always had issues with T-Mobile straight talk MMS what seems to work is just make another APN with just the MMS part but keep the one or using selected Idk why but that's always worked for me , or go SMS and update the MMS part of it with our APN settings , I since have switched to an att straight talk Sim

Cant get MMS working with a T-Mobile Straight Talk sim either. I've tried just about every variation of the settings I can find. Anyone get this working yet?
edit: got it working.
mmsc: http://mms.tracfone.com
mms port: 8080
APN type: default,supl,mms
leave all the other mms settings as is
Mine (iphone/hd2/sensation/nexus) 4 has always worked with just this:
mmsc: http://mms.tracfone.com
port/apn type are both blank.
