[Q] Stock Streaming Player Lg g2 Verizon - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dose any body know how to enable beam to tv on stock Lg g2 streaming player like its on stock video player
Let me be more clear if I'm watching video from internal memory something i took with the camera or i downloaded to the phone and I'm using stock video player i can press the little smart share button on the top and it will let me select if i wont to play or beam to the TV.If im watching video from a website or facebook and I select the stock steaming player the icons are missing . Is there any mod for that or something I can edit with root explore to get that to work .

I want to know this too...

Just click on the miracast option on your phone and enable you miracast on your TV. It should do a quick handshake and viola...Thats how I do it, but u gotta have a miracast TV thou or you can get a miracast box if your TV doesnt have it.

The only think is that the miracast takes forever to content and the screen got to stay on the phone once goes dim the tv goes dim not a big fan of the miracast. The play to tv is much better

How to display movie streaming on TV via HDMI cable

Hi there,
I was wondering if it is possible to display movie streaming on TV via HDMI cable. I tried with Multimedia dock but it seems limited to display photo and video only from Atrix. I haven't tried music yet.
Thanks!
It may be makeshift, but if you do the webtop mod you can just expand the window of the emulated phone. Not sure how well it works tho
Stretching the mirror app in webtop mode works, sorta. The resolution and framerate suffer badly since it's not a true mirror, the phone's display is being rendered within the webtop session. Lotta extra overhead involved with that.
There's some HDMI mirroring threads in the dev section, but last I read it was only portrait mode, which isn't so hot for video playback.

i just watched Rio last night on my TV using the HDMI included. no need to aple webtop hack or anything as it launches the entertainment center. I got options for Movies Music and Video.
at first it said unplayable then i went back to the menu and choose it again and it worked. unless im getting your question wrong it should play right.
I can also say the same for my phone - the media hub thing pops up when I plug my phone into any HDMI device (TV, monitor) and I select movie or photo or music. it was like that even before I hacked my phone, its suppose to work that way.
Or am I misunderstanding your question?

Oh, i might have misunderstood him. I thought he was trying to stream content from his atrix web browser onto the tv.
Thank you for replies folks. What I am trying to do is to display content from a movie streamer app or web browser on tv via HDMI.
I wanted to play streaming audio via HDMI. I applied the HDMI mirroring hack, but unfortunately it only seems to mirror the video, not the audio. :-(

I would like to know that as well, I've read you can stream via DLNA/Allshare to a Samsung TV, but it seems those apps only stream a local file. Also I wonder whether the Nexus 7 is capable of downloading the stream whilst streaming it along to the TV.

Too expensive i think. What I will try out is a Samsung MHL cable (see Amazon) and attaching a WiiMote to the device. This should transfer the screen/audio while giving me the freedom to control it from the couch.
As of now, I have testes Plex Media Server in conjunction with the Plex App on the Nexus, which is really impressive on its own already, since I can for example link every YouTube Video I like (via myplex) and stream that from my PC to the TV (even without the Android App, since the TV recognizes the Plex Media Server on its own via DLNA!). I can also stream my Video Folders to Tablet and/or TV whenever I like. The only downside of this is that I have to have the PC running.
For streaming videos from the Google Play store I think iMediashare will be sufficient, since one can select whichever file residing on the tablet and stream it to the TV. I could not test it with Play Store Videos yet, since I get the error that I have downloaded the complimentary Transformers 3 to the maximum of devices already (which I haven't) whenever I click the download option in the Google Video Player. But from what I gather, it should be possible to download a video (rent) and instead of viewing it via the Google Video App, open it in iMediashare and stream that to the TV. Using the WiiMote App, it should also have a remote then.
In case one can't open the rental video outside of Google Video App, it should still work using the MHL Cable.
If you check that out, let me know whether it works for you
I will be able to do further testing when my replacement Nexus arrives, since I got and 8GB instead of 16GB version, I will have to wait until I got it swapped.
and therefore do not pile nexus 7...NO HDMI :/
I wait for acer a110

Play Videos on your TV Without a Media Link

I found this out while I was streaming videos from my laptop. Play a video on your One and go to the menu, tap the "Select Player" and it will start looking for "Wi-Fi Players" (Not sure what qualifies as a wifi player). My One found my cheap walmart Philips Smart TV on the network but not my dad's expensive 60" Sharp Smart TV (weird). You can also use your One to play videos that it finds from media servers to your TV. Recently I've been getting a "video can't be played (716)" error but that might be because my Phillips TV is crap. Anyway let me know if you guys have any luck doing this on your TV and if you like it better than using a Media Link.

this is through dlna
I am a little surprised by the One's limited support for playing pics and vids on smart tv. Galaxy s3 and Xperia Z just had a button on the top of the gallery to play video and picture on my Panasonic Smart Tv but the One doesn't find it. No biggie, just a pain.
There are other soft solutions, such as skifta..

Nexus Player Cast useless

Hi!
I was going the get me a second Chromecast, but went for the Nexus Player instead.
This was a huge mistake. The cast function is useless. It does not work the same way as the Chromecast.
I have tested HBO Nordic, the picture gets all distorted. Then I tested CanalDigital Go (Norwegian tv distributor), here the audio is out of sync with picture.
Both these apps works great on a Chromecast. The Nexus player is up to date, have tried factory reset
Anyone with similar problems?
Being from Canada i can't test those apps unfortunately. However in my experience, casting to my Nexus Player is MUCH MUCH MUCH better than to my Chromecast. Unfortunately it seems that a lot of people have the same issue as you
I, too, can't speak about the apps OP mentioned. But like koperniczx3, I also find the Nexus Player to work MUCH better than Chromecast.
Exakt same problem with HBO Nordic on Nexus player. Distorted picture every few seconds. I so wish I had bought a second chromecast instead
Works perfekt on chromecast.
Just sideload those apps to the nexus and you wont have to cast.....or load lollirock on it and just install from the playstore

Same issue here, new start-up called "iflix" just available where I live. Able to cast to chromecast, but not available on Nexus Player. Maybe the DRM is why it won't work. Only hope is either dev fix the casting (to nexus player) , or release tv version.
I haven't noticed any major problems with casting to the Nexus Player. The only issue I can think of is that the Chromecast plugin for ES File Explorer doesn't seem to work with the Nexus Player but I've already emailed the app developer about it. Google occasionally releases software updates through Google Play to improve the casting feature on Android TV devices. If you use the Hulu app to cast from your phone or tablet to a Nexus Player with AdAway installed, this actually works surprisingly well because it even skips the video ads.

I am having same issue. Casting work well with google products but other apps it works well with chromecast but when I cast from same app to nexus player it doesnt work at all. Example of apps (CTV GO, Lynda, Plualsight) they all work well with chromecast but not with nexus player cast.

The only time I have noticed casting to work better on a Chromecast is with casting a screen. The apps I use either work the same, or better on the Nexus Player. But sideloading and having the app on the Nexus Player is so much better than casting anyways. But some people are more technically advanced than others. You have to control these apps with a mouse but to get around that, just use Droidmote. This Nexus Player has been the staple in our living room and we love it.
I have had both a chromecast and nexus player. (currently posting this on my nexus player with a logitech k400 plus) I have found that casting works way better for me on my Nexus Player. On my chromecast it would drop off constantly, and video quality would go down so I would stop and restart the app/video to get it good again. I have had zero problems casting to my Nexus Player. I cast from my Nexus 6. Although I don't cast nearly as much as I use to being HBO GO is now fully supported and available on the App Store. That was the main thing I casted. I still cast Fox Now, Watch ABC, NBC, CBS and FX Now. I never have any issues. It sounds like a problem more so related to the apps you are casting.
