Customize S-View Shortcuts? - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to add custom shortcuts or otherwise change what appears in the S-view window? For example, I'd like the music widget to control google play music, which it does not appear to do.

I would love to be able to do this also for the same reason.

I'm looking for this as well. I saw a mod for the s4 that allowed this so I'm hoping someone will make one for the GN3.

Assistive Light Widget Mod Help

Ok, so I love having the assistive light widget. Its the only flashlight app/widget I've seen with the ability to launch it and simultaneously view other apps or lock the screen and have it continue to operate. However. The widget is larger than it need be and is above all ugly as sin.
My idea is to use something like Desktop Visualizer to create a 1x1 transparent widget to place in a second dock in Apex Launcher or somewhere on the home screen.
My problem is I cannot find the corresponding app or action to link the custom widget to the Assistive Light widget.
Does anyone know what it is, where to look, or can find it? Because I have been at it for two days and continue to fail lol.
Thanks for the time and help.

Might I suggest TeslaLED from the Play store? It comes in very handy and has a 1x1 widget that isn't an eye sore. It also stays on whether you turn off the screen or start using other apps.

Quick window bug(finding confirmation from others)

I realised that if I disable the stock music app, it's widget is automatically disabled and I lose the quick window widget too. That would be fine, only double tap to off no longer works on the clock widget, only the weather one.
Now if I disable the clock widget too, the weather widget's double tap to off disappears as well.
Anyone else has that prob too?
Enabling the music widget ONLY(in settings doing this also enables the music app) using TiBu solves the problem but leaves a useless and ugly music widget behind :/

Oh i've also thought of a few solutions
1. Use exposed to change the lock screen widget to simply pause/play and next and previous buttons that work with all apps
2. Modify the apk to do the same thing
3. Find the source of the bug?

I never noticed it before but I can confirm my VS980 on CleanROM behaves as you describe. I never use the knock on feature...

Quick window doesn't work

As always, I got a new phone and raced to root and debloat. From there I started looking at cool things the phone will do and remembered the quick window feature. I dont have the case yet, so I just used a magnet to activate it. The quick window just shows up black with three dots below. Anyone have an idea of what I might have frozen or uninstalled that is required for the quick window to display actual information?

Well, I guess through trial and error, I figured it out.
Just incase anyone else was wondering:
Music 4.2.5 ( used display the widget, continues to work just says "can't display widget" on the quickwindow)
Music 4.1.11 (won't play music unless installed)
Clock Widget (digital/analog clocks)
Weather 4.1.8.1 and Weather Theme 4.1.8.1
My assumption, but not through testing is that you could remove any of these if desired, it would just say tat it can't display the widget for that page.
Sure would be nice to replace these, I personally use Google play music so don't really have a desire for another music app on the phone, but at least I can hide the icons.

[Q] Note 3 kitkat remove music lockscreen

I wanted to stay on 4.3 but stupid update popup kept popping up and i accidentally hit it today
so now I have updated to 4.4 and i absolutely hate the new lockscreen when I listen to music. Is there any way i can revert back to the old music widget or at least turn off that new feature?
Thanks
Yeah, me too, I like the previous lockscreen too.
I can still browse and choose the songs in the list when i am in the lockscreen.
Someone help, anyway to bring it back?

Yea I like the old music widget where you can choose what song you want and turn shuffle/repeat on and off. With this new lockscreen all these features are removed as well as I find the album art really disturbing.
I can disable music player lockscreen completely in N7player (or use the app-version lockscreen)...
Thus enabling me to use a lockscreen replacer or the widget.
Maybe look into using a different music player than stock?

Changing from stock player won't necessarily change the lockscreen, as the new style is applied to any music player that supports native lockscreen controls, like Spotify.

I know. I didn't say it did. I said you could disable music lockscreen completely or force the build-in one.
Screenshots attached so you see what I mean. All three with music playing, not paused.

I tried changing to Player Pro, but the control became disable on the lock screen. As in i can pause or forward to next track from the lockscreen.
Hoping to find a solution while still using the stock player.
really liked the previous lockscreen/ player so much better before kit kat, can just swipe downwards to see the songs in the floder/ playlis while in lockscreen.

yea i really like that feature.
And also with N7player do you need to have root to remove the lockscreen?

Open a widget from a widget

So I'm trying to open a widget from a widget, here's what I'm working with. For the Harmony icons, I want to be able to tap them and have them open up another window that shows all the activities that are on that hub, with a different icon for the current activity. I can't seem to find a way to open another widget from tapping on one of them, is it possible? I've also played with trying to set up a Tasker Scene, but it doesn't seem like I can change icons in there. Thoughts?

You might want to look into Elixir2 Widget and Overlays.
