Kit Kat (Android 4.4) release soon! - Nexus 7 (2013) General

Just a quick Hi to all the Nexus 7 2013 owners! I just acquired mine a couple days ago! Replaced my HTC Flyer (BB WiFi model). Been eyeing this beauty for a while. Rooted and installed Official CM 10.2 ROM.....however, I flashed back to stock root. Here's why:
The rumors point to a drop date for Kit Kat (Android 4.4) of October 28th
Any of you gonna give it a shot?

There's already a thread on this topic. Granted, the title may be a little misleading, but that can be overlooked.

N7 build numbers

Hi all I have x2 Nexus 7 32gb versions.
The old one came with build JRO03D and the new one came with JRN84D.
When I updated the new N7 to Jellybean 4.1.1, the build became JRO03D, question is, which is the newer build number ? I thought it was the JRN84D as it was the new Nexus batch that just got delivered.
cheers
JR003D is 4.1.1 where as other is just 4.1

That's true. But the Nexus 7 is the best Android device I've ever owned. Ran it stock unrooted for a few days, and then unlocked, rooted and flashed Sinless ROM (after making a nandroid backup, of course.)

[I9505G] When should we expect Android 4.4

Any guesses ?
In the coming 2 weeks
Me Gusta!
Will we be able to directly install the fw to a normal i9505 or does it need to be ported first?
And what about units with Knox active?
Sent from my GT-N5100 using Tapatalk 4
My guesses GPE edition in a few weeks and TW version after S5.

Any news or rumors on when to expect OTA 4.4 for I9505G ?
Nexus 4/7/10 started to get OTA couple of days ago and google released factory images today.
Nothing on I9505G front yet...

Unroot before official 4.4 Kitkat update

I'm new user to android. I had successfully rooted my Nexus 7 2012 v4.3 using Wugs Nexus Toolkit long back. I was wondering if I had to unroot tablet to install official v4.4 Kitkat update when it rolls out later this month?
i hit this border everytime and official update comes lol i think you dont need to unroot but major updates delete root and replace recovery/bootloader depending on update? im not 100% thou
Thanks.

If you made any system changes or tweaks....that won't be good enough. Better off flashing stock.
