Just rooted my LG G2. Tried flashing a ROM via TWRP Manager and upon reboot, I see the android logo with the red exclamation mark in its stomach. G2 boots back up and it's still running stock software. Anyone have any clue why?
It looks like you don't have trwp install. The android with the exclamation indicates stock recovery is still present.

ok, i just rooted my phone today and im trying to install this rom but when i select reboot into recovery it only appears a picture of a phone and a red warning sign i guess... if you know whats going on, just let me know ok.. thanks for your time..
You need to flash a custom recovery image. Your looking at the stock recovery with the red triangle. The easiest way to do this would be using rom manager

Hello everyone!
I'm having a bit of an issue. apparently everything was deleted on my phone for some reason when i was using my phone. I decided that I should just Factory restore through TWRP and reinstall kitkat 4.4.1. when I went to go factory restore I see that on the commands it says "Unable to mount, failed to wipe dalvik, wipe complete Failed" I took off the -rf on the settings check mark and when I go to Factory reset, the phone stays on "Formatting Cache using make_ext4fs function" the progress bar is moving but after several minutes it's the same screen no changes no failed messages or anything. almost like it's still trying to format. - my phone starts to get kinda warm. I have tried sideloading a ROM but my computer doesn't seem to pickup my phone. Instead when I hit to sideload through adb in the device manager i see "Other devices g2" with a question mark.
I do have the LG usb drivers and also I believe I have adb installed.
What else can i do? My phone still tries to boot but all I get is the boot animation over and over again.I tried the "LG G2 Stock Firmware" thread but the program says wrong phone model.
I had installed Kitkat 4.4 with Wootever's version 6 kernel and my phone model is d800.
Thanks for all your help! Seems like flashing was a lot easier on my previous HTC One X+ lol
If ur adb can see ur phone in sideload mode then sideload kitkat Roms and gapps and the kernel.

Hey guys, I was looking for some help because I just rooted my new lg g2 I just got a week ago, and I wanted to flash a custom recovery. First I tried just installing cwm recovery using the rom manager app. When I rebooted into recovery, I got the little android dude with the open chest and the little red hazard triangle above it. So then I looked up how to install a recovery and I found the app flashify. I downloaded the twrp file and tried using flashify to flash it. When done flashing it asked me if I would like to reboot into recovery and I hit yes. It showed the LG logo for not even a second, and the screen just turned black. My phone runs fine, perfectly normal, I just can't get into the recovery I installed. Anyone ideas?

Just to verify, you downloaded the Verizon IMG file openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.2-g2vzw.img, and installed it using Flashify?

Download the app freegee and install twrp using that.. Its a one click procedure that always works..then you should be able to boot into recovery no problem.. Don't use flashify to flash recovery.IMG because I have had some problems doing it that way with this phone for whatever reason... Trust me.. Freegee works like a charm
Thanks

Freegee worked perfectly. ..saved me a lot of time searching and restoring back to stock!!
Thanks man
Stupidly installed clockwork right from rom manager.
When I rebooted to recovery I get the dead droid with the panel opened.
Eventually it rebooted on its own back into the OS.
What do I need to do to clean this up?
I'm on the latest version of Android that was just released like this week.
Stop using rom manager. Delete the app it has no use. Lol. User freegee to install recovery

OK, so I have rooted my LGG2 (international, UK, 3 network) and wanted to install a different rom. I followed the instructions to install TWRP and have installed rom manager app. In rom manager I have set current recovery to TWRP and gone to reboot into recovery. This, however, doesn't boot into TWRP. It boots into standard android recovery. Any idea what I have done wrong? Is there perhaps a different TWRP I need? I watched a guy on youtube do it all with ease and it just seems I've had nothing but problems! If I can get TWRP working, I'm sure I can effectively progress further, but at the moment I'm tempted to just unroot it and regain some of the apps I'm not allowed to use, due to the problems I have faced
Any help is greatly appreciated
How did you install recovery, autorec?
If so you're good to go just hit power button x3 through that screen as if you're going to factory reset. It takes you to recovery.

not 100%
I can't exactly remmebr I've done it all in drips and drabs. I think I flashed it with usb. But don't recall. I haven't heard of autorec. But when I use ROm manager, it tells me I have twrp installed. But I select it as the recovery in rom maanger, reset my phone and it goes to the standard android recovery not twrp. And press power x3 when? i just tried in android recovery and it just rebooted the device. I tried while booting and nothing...
Are you on kitkat? I'm sure 3 got ota already.
I'll get link for autorec. Its easy to set up, just install and run.

yeah
thats right im on kitkat. I'll check out that autorec if you think it will help, perhaps twrp wasnt installed properly and thats the issue? When I use twrp manager for play store, it tells me "something went worng, seems we can't get information for your device" after i select g2d802. Worth a shot at autorec
