I want to recover some photos from an HD2 internal phone memory ( not SD) and that's impossible without PC detects that phone as drive.
For Windows phones 7 & 8 there is solution: http://www.asoftech.com/articles/windows-phone-enable-mass-storage.html , but not for WM 6.x .

not sure if this is what you're looking for, but try a program called "wm5torage" on your hd2.
i vaguely recall that when the usb cable is connected in activesync mode, then the activesync software on the desktop/laptop provides an interface to browse the file system of the device. i'm not sure but i think this browsing includes the device partitions as well.

If you haven't touched your device since october, there is a chance that the photos are still in your NAND internal memory.
you could dump your memory using wince tools here http://itsme.home.xs4all.nl/projects/xda/ then use a hexeditor to go through the dump and find the photos. I have not tried any of this, and it won't be easy, you will have to do some research, but it might work.

same problem with one particular folder yesterday, dont know why this happend
maybe folder atributes or something¿?
im a tad confused with your question, but i'm going to take a guess at answering your question. your installed apps wont show up in your computer because it only mounts the internal "SD" card. The apps are installed in a different partition of your Acer, which is hidden from your desktop computer.
Is USB debugging on? If so it causes problems with connecting to your PC.
Please Help! Accidentally deleted the entire My Pictures Folder - trips to India, etc!
& while I can find ways to recover data from the card I can not find how to recover files & folders from the machines memory
It is an HTC HD2
Any Ideas Please ??

Once it's gone, it is gone. Unless it exists somewhere else, it is gone.
ouch, that really hurts... there should be a way to undelete from the phone's memory. if there is one, i hope you find it.
There is still hope...
Hi, don't just assume that once you've deleted it, it's gone. There is still hope for your data. You see, when you delete something it doesn't actually get removed, the OS just "hypnotizes" itself into forgetting the data is there. Over time the data will become overwritten (depending on how much you used the sdcard your pictures were on).
There are special programs designed to recover deleted files, I recommend Recuva by Piriform (same guys who make CCleaner).
http://www.piriform.com/recuva
Just point it to your sdcard and scan. Again, depending on how much you've used your device they may either be completely gone or easily recoverable.
Good luck

I second knobbyhtccruise's suggestion. Dont use any apps that may write to your phone memory. Just try ActiveSync method and use this software i have attached below.
Unzip the file to desktop. Connect ur HD2 via AS.
Run Restoration.exe and in Drive see if you can access phone memory. Goodluck
No data recovery software can access the phone memory of HTC or else other smart phone etc
Can't be saved dude. No go dude. No go.

Try http://www.datarecovery.com/. It helped me. It's not free, but you can try if it finds your files for free. Does it find it, you have to buy it to be able to save the files. Worth a try! Good luck, man!
Firs of all, many thanks to all the respondents,
perhaps someone would be kind enough to help me enhance my understanding?
As far as I know a file system allocates space for files & directories, when it is told to delete something it does not do that but instead merely marks the space as available by setting a bit / flag on that entry. This being why it is imperative NOT to write to the file system in the case of an accidental deletion & a recovery program merely reverses the process to mark the space from available to unavailable & displays the entry again
in some expert hands even a hex editor can be used to undelete / recover data
to my limited knowledge both the internal memory & the sd card use a fat32 file system
given the above, I do not understand what is the difference & why data can be recovered from the sd card but not from the main memory. Perhaps someone more qualified can set me straight please?
A random thought - would there be any use setting up a dual boot to android & would that help / harm my case - thought being that there may be more tools available?
once again TIA
M
once a file is deleted, the space is marked as resuable. Therefore, stop using the device because every of your activity may be destorying (overwriting) your deleted data beyond recovery.
SD is recoverable because you can mount it to a PC using a card reader, or even using the HD2 directly. Then most software can read the storage and try to recover. Phone member is presented to the PC as a connected device and it may not be possible for other PC software to access it like a storage device. If you can find a tool that copies the whole 476MB (or whatever) memory to somewhere else (PC hard disk, SD card, any passive storage that is not a phone), then those software will probably to able to handle it.
here is a program that can undelete files from external and internal storage. good luck.

I assume it might help if he has NAND android, otherwise it won't.
did some searching and found two programs that may or may not help on WinMo
Wizcode Unformat Mobile
Wizcode Undelete Mobile
not sure if they can access phone storage. but you can try. hopefully, you haven't fiddled much with your phone since then. it's been about two months.
I believe Wizcode undelete mobile works on storage card only.

so I think the only hope is by sending it to a service center hoping they have tools to mount device memory as removable device, and tools to recover deleted files.
and next time, save your photos on your SD.
if you know anyone with a copy of your photos, now is the time to start calling friends.
I Hope theres some Mac users here
Is there any chance to browse the SD card in my Z3C on my computer ?
Which program to use ?
Just plug it in and it should pop up the SD card, check your phones USB settings in the overflow menu of storage
Tried Sony Bridge for Mac?
It works for me.

im suggesting use "airdroid", just install the app, open it, login from your mac/pc and voila
but remember since its on kitkat, u can just browse/read the contents in sd card, but cannot edit/write e.g upload a file to it, unless you are rooted

Hmmm....thats bad. I also need to write to SD Card. Any other solutions than Cable connection ?
Use dropbox? I've used it to get mp3 files to my phone without having a cable around before. it's an extra step essentially, but it works.
No app will be able to write on the SD card freely, unless it's a system app or the device is rooted.

That's fortunately not exactly true. Use MyPhoneExplorer via USB and you do have read/write access. Works like a charm, highly recommended phone management tool. Only for Windows though...
Sent from my D5803 using XDA Free mobile app
It's still true because I obviously meant an Android app. And it also doesn't answer the OP's question because he's using a Mac.
Yes...and i want to transfer files over WIFI
That'll work only with built-in functions (i.e. system-apps) or with a rooted device because there's no other way to have write access to the whole SD card.
There's some built-in function to connect to PC companion via WLAN, doesn't that work? I can't look it up, no Z3C at hand.
Simple and straight, I need to know if its possible to connect the phone as USB Mass Storage device to my computer.
Thanks!
like this? yes
No, I want it to appear like another drive, I need to recover deleted files and like that no recovery app works, you need to have it connected as mass storage device.
no way to recover lost data. next time use backup or SD card to save media and document files... every school cost... in this case cost lost data...

what you want exactly?
Hi, I have a trouble with my G6 since I buyed it a year ago, I've never be able to transfer files to my pc, allways crashes my pc when I try to transfer the files from the internal storage.
Also I have tried to transfer the files to the SD card in the mobile with ES File Explorer but also I cant do it. Any solution?
You can always start with installing the drivers. Most times windows can handle it just fine, but if there are crashes, installing a driver pack can solve the issue
Also, use Driver Booster to update other drivers, you may be having problems with more internal stuff such as SATA controllers

Seems like your pc has some kind of problem. Try using the asus file manager for now: It creates a ftp server. You type the ip adress shown (on your browser) and then you get a file explorer. It's a good way to transfer files without having to connect the phone via USB
