Dumb question? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know root has been achieved but what about this Knox crap? I read about know still don't grasp it but I haven't found a answer so I'm asking has root been achieved without out affecting the warranty? I know we would have to restore it before returning the bootloader etc.

Removing ads

I've just rooted my phone for the first time so I'm a newb, I know. Does anyone know what I can use to remove ads from my phone, just to get started?

You can also download F DROID which is an alternative market and find AdAway on there. You'll be able up to update the app from F DROID too.

Eco Mode?

Peeps from the OG know what I'm talking about. The optimus G had an EcoMode, where the processor dropped 2 cores and throttled the other 2. This phone doesn't have it. Is there any way to bring one onboard WITHOUT tripping that root checker? I would love to have it, but I don't know of any way to bring it on without root.
Alternatively, what was the name of it's system file on the OG? Does anyone know?

Have you decompiled your systemui.apk, framework.apk or the lge.apk? It might be present in that..

[Q] CM11?

I've seen a lot of touchwiz roms, but I was wondering if CM11 was ever coming to the Galaxy Note 3?

Kingo question

Kingo is asking to install mtkcamera app during the installation. Is this a normal part of the root method
Never mind.... Found it

what did you find? I saw the same during root process and am a bit uneasy about camera apps at that point.

Check out this thread and decide for yourself. I figured so many others have used it, why not. I need root. Worked the 1st time through, up and running

Delete knox with no root needed

To delete knox you just need to activate it which will ask you to set up a pin code, entering this pin code 20 wrong times will force your system to delete knox

Yeah the app itself might turn off, but not the counter in recovery.
