Hi, i have a bog problem, i have a galaxy s i9000 from sfr when i tried to flash this phone using odin, odin said that succesfuly finish the installation but the phone reboot in an infinite loop, have anyone a solution of my problem ?
Yes...try the folowing steps:
1.reflash trough odin
2.flash a new kernel
3.from recovery flash a new rom
You may need to leave your phone alone for a few of minutes at the first boot. It may take some time, so in the meanwhile go read the rules because you clearly didn't.
This should be in the Q and A section.

thank you all, but i coudn't access to the recovery mode, when i used the up+power+home, nothing happen, also have someone a link that helps me in order to reflash it again properly ? i can only access the download mode,
Hi Everybody,
I've tried rooting my Galaxy s2 using s2 root v1.2.
Followed everything very carefully, ran odin, installed insecure kernel. But when I launched s2 root it came up with an error message 'this is only for galaxy s2 phones'. Then i noticed in my computer instead of the phone icon theres only 2 drives there?. So Ive ran odin again and reinstalled the official kernel and the same things happening and now kies wont recognise my phone?
Someone please help....
Ok figured it out, switched usb debugging off, now the phone icon is back and kies works. But can anyone help as to why s2 root wont detect my phone??
Why would you use s2 root ? All you need to do to get root is flash cfkernel.
I want to put back the original kernel once i am rooted, looking at that chainfire thread, I don't know if it will work. BTW I have BVKG3.
I think you are confused because you don't need root to flash kernel/rom ect. Just use ODIN to flash.
OK rooted now using chainfires method. Going to try putting official kernel back on via odin, hope it stays rooted
It will, you will lose other nice things like clockworkmod recovery and nandroid backups but root will stick.

Hi all
Since i cant make a New topic i use this one.
I have the following problem, i have rooted my galaxy s4 using odin and all went well. The Phone got rooted and supersu did automaticly installed during the rooting process.
The only problem i cant figure out is how entering the cwm recovery. Using the combination buttons i should use the Phone enters the system recovery and not the cwm recovery. So cwm functions i need for installing zip files i dont have.
What have i doing wrong or What am i missing?

I take it you used autoroot method ? That only roots device & doesn't install custom recovery
Here's a cwm custom rec-just flash tar in Odin as you did when you rooted & you'll have custom rec or search Philz.tar & do the same
Thx that worked but need a bit more help.
When i reboot the Phone in cwm recovery i get a notification: rom May flash stock recovery on boot. Fix? This can not be undone.
I can press no or yes-disable recovery flash
When press no another notification promped up saying: root access possibly lost. Fix? This can not be undone.
I now can press no or yes Fix root.
What to do?

Hi all, thank you for reading this. I'm sure I'm not the only one here that has this problem;
I've got a Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900H and I've tried countless times to root it. It rooted halfway. How? Well, being a n00b in a developer's forum is really tough but I'll try to exemplify:
So I succesfully rooted my phone via Philz CWM to later install Chainfire's Root App from Google Play store. But I can't run "Game Killer" without it posting "Root access needed" when I THOUGHT I rooted my phone. So I downloaded Root Checker Pro and then I kinda understood why.
Has this happened to anyone before? I've never had this rooting problem (used to own a Galaxy S4 before this one and a Samsung S2 before that one)..
PLEASE HELP!
Oh, and I can't use CF-Auto-Root method because it get's stuck at CACHE and I can't make it past there (EVEN if I change the Odin versions). My guess is that it's got something to do with Philz being there. I dunno..
HOW CAN I COMPLETELY ROOT MY BELOVED S5 G900H?
Thank you in advance!
Bump?

Yes and yes. Incomplete roots are a common issue and happen to many people. It can happen because you missed a step, because the rooting method is out of date or perhaps some app is interfering. You simply need to root again.
It would probably suffice to update SuperSU and update or install busybox. But if you prefer, uninstall SuperSU, then run your root again. If you run into difficulties, then look for advice on how to disable Knox, use one of the newer rooting methods or flash a stock firmware image and start from scratch.

2 ways:
1) This has been noted before. If you get stuck on the cache during the flash process, you should remove battery + sim + sd and re insert them and flash again.
2) Not being able to flash with Philz usually is caused because of the recovery version. Since you have G900H it could very be that problem, so if you didn't try my advice from above, I would try to use a different recovery (CWM / TWRP).
Thank you YMatrix for taking the time to respond. I will reply as soon as I'm able to do so and post a reply with the steps for the successful alternatives.

Nope. Did not work. I made a full wipe, formatted system, formatted data, formatted media, formatted cache, made a full full wipe of everything, flashed original unbranded firmware and then followed the CF-AUTOROOT method to encounter the same fail...

Is there a manual way that I can copy the su file into system and set the setuid permissions?
I'm doing my best and tried everything and nothing and no way seems to grant me core root like it's supposed to..

Just an idea,, why not unroot then use towel root? I didn't need to go to all that trouble to root my device. Just a couple of clicks with towelroot app.
Because when I attempt to root with Towelroot it says that my device is not currently supported..
I've tried almost every combination/steps.. It gets rooted but it doesn't root the core.. I don't know how to put it in words. N00b disadvantages..

Hmm in that case I would post a message on the xda-dev forum. Oh wait
Sorry I'm not much help here. I'm not sure why my Australian S5 is supported and yours is not (towelroot).
Well, I'm not sure either. One very strange thing as well is that in Terminal Emulator, when I type "whoami" it says unknown.
I still can't access full root.
I do, however, have SuperSU installed and working properly but it's like a fake root or something..

The result is still the same.. Help? Please?
Well RBucci, i'm with the exact same problem. thought semi-root, happenned to me before, with the S4 and S3, i ve simply fixed it, re rooting with another version of CF-AUTOROOT.
But now, there's no other version of it, for S5. i have the same varian (G900H) as you. CF-ROOT get stuck after writing Cache.img, and throwing "Write error".
please, let me know if you find a work around for it, i'll be doing the same.
i guess we have the same phone, i'm from argentina, probably we have the same variant of "H" version..

Question, have you tried downloading busybox from market and trying to install it?
does it erease itself after rebooting?
Finally working full root!
as you asked here is what i've done.
put a sim card in the phone, (never put a simcard in the phone before), enter developers options, marked USB debbuging, unmarked verify potencial risky apps pushed by ADB (sorry if the translation isnt exact i have the phone in spanish) is right below USB Debuggin Option.
-turn off phone
-Remove SIMCARD
-Enter Download mode
-Flash via Odin 3.09 Chainfire CF-AUTOROOT for G900H
-and enjoy.
try it mate. it worked for me
here some screenshots, one checking root, another one checking busybox.

You're the man!
I'm going to delete everything (FULL WIPE) and reinstall stock firmware to test it from scratch. I'll let you know how it goes.
Hopefully I'll be posting back from a fully rooted phone.
Thanks, bro!
I had the same issue, got stuch on cache, so i turned it off, removed the battery, took the sim AND the sd card away, and tried the cf-autoroot again, it worked, have full root on the s5

No need for the bounty brother...
But then check sammobile.com for the correct firmware of your phone and download only 4.4.2.
Not a version less. I.e DO NOT FLASH 4.3 or 4.2.2.
They wont work at all and will brick your device too..
So stay calm..download your 4.4.2 firmware from sammobile.com and flash it via odin ^_^
Nothing more in that..
Report if some error occurs again.
Plus if you are carrier specific as i can see...
This might work for you...

Flash at your own risk brother..

Haha..nothing great in that too..
●Flash philz recovery.
●deknox it first, then root it and then update supersu by turning the phone on.
●Now flash any rom by using philz ^_^
This long method is just to avoid complications..
Otherwise you can directly flash a rom via philz without deknoxing your phone..most roms a pre-deknoxed.
