newbie question. After i copy photos and videos to the SD card on my computer, how do i view them on the tab? Do i have to copy them from the card to the internal? If so, what is the best way to do this?
If you SD card is OK (recognized by the system) Gallery photo program should automatically detects the photos...

With many apps, It's impossible to export on sd card (e.g. Dropbox and other).
Is there any solution? I don't want root the device.
I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 GTi9505 and I noticed something very odd and very confusing.
On my HTC Desire phone, I use ES File Explorer and it only has SD Card and of course the System files.
But, on the S4, it has two directories for the SD card which are: ExternalSD and SD Card
My personal data like my photos and documents are under the ExternalSD rather than under SD Card.
I noticed this on Airdroid app first and then on ES File Explorer.
So when saving my personal date onto my phone and whenever I buy a new phone in the future, all should be on the External SD card instead of the SD Card in case I have to swap those personal files and data onto that new phone???
See attached photo screen from Airdroid, and this is using my S4 phone. So you see, it has two SD cards. One External SD and the other SD Card.
So if I want to SAVE or BACKUP my personal data andmy photos, should I store them under the ExternalSD folder?
Thanks

Sdcard is internal sdcard (non-removable) extSdCard is external sdcard (removable). So you store all your music, photos (can set the camera to save it to external) videos and documents to external card and you can later put that card into another device. Internal sdcard is mostly for application and game datas, currently, if your not rooted, you can't move those giant games and etc to external card. The new firmware can only move the application itself to external card but not game data.
Hey everyone, need some help and been searching for hours for an answer. I have a rooted Galaxy s4. I have apps that are installed to my external SD through the system options and I also have used folder mount to transfer some apps to external SD. I'm guessing that these are hidden files on my external SD card. I want to swap my current 32GB card for a newer 64GB card. How can I create an exact copy of my external card? I tried copying and pasting all my contents from my external sd but it didn't transfer everything because my apps weren't there upon installing the new SD. How to I copy the entire contents of the old 32GB external SD to the new 64 GB external sd? Thanks

How did you copy them? If you plug in the phone over USB then it won't show all files on the SD card in the phone, you either have to put it in it's own USB reader or get the USB Mass Storage app to mount it

I plugged it in through my phone in USB mode and also manually took it out and put it in an SD reader. Either way didn't show
hi guys i have recently bought a 64gb sd card for my gt-i9505. what can i do to make the sd card my external source of storage, so that way everything such as music, pics, apps etc will save to the card by default instead of the internal storage? my phone is also rooted if that helps.
xposed has a module that forces camera app to store everything on external sd.
In the most browsers you can set your download path (set it to /sdcard1/downloads)
If you have the music/video/picture files, just move them to your sd card.
But for Images Dude, i9505 by default stores them to external SD card. But if you see they are going to Internal storage then you can define the path in setting of camera app. for other apps there are also options to save the files on internal storage or external.
