I am requesting assistance with basic development of the Korean 320L Variant of this device. I chose it due to the removable battery and 64gb micro sd card capability over the standard version available here in the uk.
I have achieved Root which is excellent but would like a CWM/TWRP based recovery if this is possible. I have tried the Korean Telecom 320k version to no avail.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated, I have already looked at the existing threads for answers but I see none (I may be missing something!)

I think i know what it might be.Did you update to the last OTA before you try the recovery? If the answer is yes then this is your problem, and you will need to revert back to stock to do so (and stay there until a new recovery img for the new rom arrives).

BolloXXX to that! Thanks for the update though. I guess I will have to wait for a workaround.. Times like this makes me miss the simplicity of a Nexus and an unlocked bootloader.

Its very easy to go back to another rom if you want,i did that with mine like 3-4 times already :good: You just need the rom and FlashTool.1.0.54.
They do have the K variant roms for download here:Btw S and L models are pretty much the same, mine is the S one but if i open it it says F320S/L.Even flashed it with the K software with no problems at all.
The latest that works is 10M

Hi jody04c and woof123
I too have an f320l model. Have you managed to get this to work on UK LTE/4G connections? I have an EE 4G Sim but can only get 3G. Various people are saying different things.
The pda site says limited band support, but the 5457#*320# menu has LTE Band 3 and LTE Band 7 listed. The latest Korean manual for 4.4.2 OTA update now also lists Band 7 support in the manual too.
However, I notice that In Korea LGUPlus don't use these LTE bands (according to wikipedia) and so I was wondering if I should just root and try loading the K or S ROM which might open these up?
I have seen the return to Stock page - for me to use that, will I need to Root first? Any advice on rooting the Korean variants (sorry if this is listed elsewhere, I'm not a familar user here and often find several threads with different details/steps).
Thanks in advance for any help here.

So has anyone had success getting the f320l working on uk 4g by using stock/custom s/k rom. As suggested here hardware with s and l seem to be same or similar, and the l model is used by lugplus who don't support EU lte bands so probably block through their software, whereas skt on the f320s support bands on EU. The latest f320l ota update also says it supports band 7, but it didn't work with uk Ee for me with default settings.

Is there anyway that I can install T-mobile firmware on my N9005 Galaxy Note 3? I tried to do it but it fails everytime. is there any way I can change my model number or something so I can install different firmwares from different variants? I ask this because I used to own a HTC One and I was able to change the model number so I could install different firmwares.

The better question is you have an international model so what is your goal? Are you trying to install a specific ROM to enable features (like modem frequencies) which have been disabled? You cannot install another model ROM on your device or you will just go into a boot loop or soft-brick your device and you will need to go through a recovery process. I'm going to assume you want to install a ROM for a specific feature or set of features which can be done but you simply need to ROOT and find a compatible ROM with the features you require.
Hope this helps!

yeah I was going to see if I would get LTE speeds if I'd installed the t-mobile firmware. also I want to be able to use Wifi calling as well. but the main reason I wanted to try out t-mobile firmware was, so I could get LTE speeds.

Please refer to this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46653611#post46653611. You have posted a duplicate thread essentially asking the same information. I have provided a link which once viewed and completed should hopefully solve your issue. If not, respond to that thread and I'll help where possible. Thanks!
I have just gotten my new S4 and want to put on a custom rom to bring it up to 4.3 as it currently has 4.2.2. But I am apprehensive because it has a model number of i9507. Therefore, two questions:
1) Is this an issue?
2) Is there a rom out there that gives me the look of stock but the functions of Touchwiz (I like the Air Gestures/Smart Stay/Dual Shot etc).
Additional info if it will help,
Handset is from Optus Australia and is referred to as "4G+" by Optus.
And I have searched here to no avail, although similar questions were asked.
Thanks.
Really?
No one on here's familiar with this variant?
Although saying that, even a Google search doesn't give me much information either.
Is it the dualSIM Version?

Hello,
I have the Note 4 910C that comes with the Exynos processor. I can't get the LTE icon to show up and I want to change my ROM to a European ROM like the UK ROM. I can't seem to find it for the Exynos version.
Can I install the Snapdragon Note 4 ROM on my Exynos ROM? Can anyone give me a link to stock European ROM that will show the LTE and work with the Exynos version?
Thank you!
Why would you ask such a silly question? Read all the stickies and all the roms 1st pages and ask yourself...

No mate u can't install Snapdragon rom in Exynos, it will brick your phone.
Someone can help you if you give details of your phone.
@jdomedia Thank you man. Unlike some other people who would rather type unusefull information instead of helping, you actually did help me. Hope more people like you are in this world.
@Ausboy 2011 if you don't have an answer, don't reply. Not all people know the same information or how to obtain them like you.
My guess is that either your phone doesn't support your carrier's LTE baseband, or your APN settings aren't set up correctly.
I wouldn't be able to help you since I live in the US, but if you tell us your carrier, then maybe someone can give you the proper APN settings and needed basebands.
And yeah, that reply was pretty rude. It's not like you were asking something that is all over the forum like how to root, or easily researchable like if the Note 4 comes with micro SD support. IMO, you were asking a legitimate N00b question (no offense).

I have a N910C purchased from Handtec - it's running the latest Hungarian ROM (5.1.1 COH4 - available on Sammobile). I'm using EE and get the 4G icon (not an LTE icon, although the connection shows as LTE in the settings menu).

I think you have given all needed info, but what carrier are you using the phone on? Is it Handtec?
Hopefully someone can help you. Sorry I can't. As I said, I live in the US and am only familiar with the big 4 carriers here and their Note 4 variants.

I'm on EE - but my post was intended as information for the OP. I'm not having any problems and don't need any help. 4G is basically LTE, as far as I know that's just the way it's described here in the UK - in any case, I'm getting great speeds.

4G is the same as LTE !!! If you have 4G icon ,you have the fast internet from it. You can test it by OOKLA speedtest from the Play store
Yes, I know - like I said, I was only trying to give the OP some helpful information. Thanks anyway :/
I have the same question i'm using Note 3 N910C which is Exynos Variant, and the question is can I install this ROM >
resurrectionremix-oreo/trlte/RR-O-v6.0.0-20180425-trlte-Official.zip
I could not wait for the SM-P585 to become available in the US, so I bought one from ebay, but turns out it is the SM-P585NO, the Korean version, which has LTE band 1,3,5,7,8. The tablet is unable to get LTE on T-Mobile and AT&T in the US, although I am getting a decent 3G signal.
Is there a way I can flash firmware from a different variant of SM-P585 and get US LTE bands? Firmware for several variant appears to be available on youmobile.org (I cannot post a link here yet)
Thanks a ton for your help!
Maaz
I would not hold out much hope on that front.
When we flash a different ROM, it basically changes the OS, however, I don't think it changes the underlying drivers which could enable us to use a different LTE band.
It might be possible, however, it would require too much of a technical effort to accomplish that.
However, what I've seen people say is that its the hardware which is different in such cases, so near impossible to do that.
Jp
Sadly the answer is no. Unless there are unpublished support for different bands and they release a firmware update to enable this, it won't happen.
Your best bet is to sell the you had and buy another one.
Thanks!
Thanks a ton for help, you two! Just wondering.. is there a harm if I do flash a different variant? There's Korean stuff in my tablet that I'd like to get rid of.
Thanks again for your responses!

As long as you flash another ROM for the same model, you should be okay. However, I've seen previously that a lot of the things are different even in software between the Korean & International variants of the same model, so directly using another ROM is not advisable, unless the ROM has been modified by someone & that person says he has made changes to make it compatible.
Why not use something like package disabler pro to disable unwanted apps?

Hi,
I have a G900F I got in the UK and I've just moved to Canada with. Problem is it doesn't support some of the bands here so I find I often have a poor signal. I'm happy with the stock ROM but I believe if I am to open it up for all bands I need a custom ROM.
I don't need anything too flashy, but I'd like everything to work and be responsive.
In terms of the most complete ROMs it seems LineageOS Official and Resurrection Remixed are the most popular. Can anyone comment? How about Android 6 vs 7?
Thanks
Used to use resurrection but now that I've moved to lineage os I can say that its better and getting improved every update it gets

g900f is almost identical if not the exact same as the canadian s5 g900w8.
you would need to use correct freq for your carrier, search will provide a howto. worse case scenario is to flash a canadian 6.0.1 modem from any canadian 6.0.1 stock fw
if trying to figure out connectivity, stay w/stock first as modems are from stock fw.
imo try superlite 6.0.1, it stock based and only takes a few minutes to install that way you can test out your carrier connectivity issues

So I can keep my stock firmware and just replace the G900F baseband (G900FXXS1CQAV) with the Bell Canada SM-G900W8 Modem and everything will be the same except the phone will work on the Bell Canada frequencies?
I had been planning to follow this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059 to enable the 1700MHz band which is disabled on the G900F, but if flashing a Canadian modem will enable this band that sounds easiest.
Do I need to download the full 1.5GB firmware and extract the modem from it?
Thanks

ive never tried flashing a mdm from another model as ive never needed to for the s5.
ive not read enough to know if its possible or if it has any neg consequences.
easiest would be to change freq w/current mdm, search for samsung secret service codes to view and maybe change current freq
good place to start is here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729694
I've done a lot of research on this forum. Most people say that installing G900W8 firmware on G900F isn't possible. Also it seems that it is the NVRAM which stores what bands are allowed on what model, so simply flashing a different modem won't make a difference.
Some people are saying that the hardware is different and this is what limits the bands, but I don't believe so, the radio/modem chip is the same version between models.
Trying to follow the link I posted earlier to change the NVRAM values after installing a custom ROM appears to be the only way. Some people say it works, and others say it only appears to work. The original thread was closed years ago so I guess I'll just need to try it and see.
Alternatively I could buy 2 phones, one W8 to use in Canada and a F to use in Europe, this seems silly though.
