Hey guys, had a question. I'm using a Galaxy S4 Google Edition on TMobile and want to know if it is possible to make HD Voice calls with this setup? From what I can tell my phone calls are currently using the old narrow band codec (they sound about the same)
I saw on another post that you can look at the "Service mode" to see if the wide band codec's are enabled, but it looks like those directions only work on a GS4 running Sense UI.
Thanks in advance!
Any luck on finding out whats up? I can't believe no one else has brought this up....

Hello all,
I'm looking for an application that records all my phone calls (both my voice and the person I'm talking to). The only thing I've found so far is "All Call Recorder" which doesn't seem to work at all.
If it matters I'm running Cyanogen 5.0.6.
Anything guys?
Can't find one that currently supports android 2.0 or above sorry

Hi I am using GS2 for a long time.. I need to record my calls as part of my work. I have tried some apps for recording calls but from some reason they don't record the call in High Quality from both sides of the call. Does anyone know a good app that can really record the call the same way it sounds?
thank you so much for your help

I don't beleave there is a good working call recorder for SGS or SGS2 out there, as Samsung blocked this function in StockRoms.
There are some apps out there trying to make this work re-catching the mic signal by themselves but they don't get access to the binary speaker signal within the firmware function as it was e.g. possible on some HTC or old Nokia phones.
It's not that they're not working but the signal quality is very bad.
Is there an app or key press in dialer to get into the service menu on LG G2? To checkif HD Voice is turned on or off? And choose to turn it on and off?
I would like to know this too... I have added the build prop setting but don't seem to see any advantage

I aint really shure what you mean about the build prop. But I experienced on S4 that if I wiped and flashed custom roms and different kernels I had to activate it again. Im unsure about how this works at LG.
Im on stock rom now and gonna install Energy rom, but I am not gonna change the kernel. Afterwards I will check if HD voice is still on, I can hear really good if its working or not here in Norway where the HD voice is insane good!
EDIT: But of course if loose it, I dont have any clue to get it back on LG............
That's the problem in the G2 hidden menu there is no option to enable HD voice... Unlike samsung
If you google online there is a build.prop line amr.wideband Tweak to be added which enables HD voice on other phones...
As for any indication whether it's working or not... I believe there really isn't any on android
Hi everyone,
I have a simple question: what is the best call recorder using my AT&T phone number (not Google Voice) to record both ends of a conversation regardless of who calls whom?
It seems surprisingly difficult to find a reliable app that can record at the proper volume on both ends for my LG-G2 AT&T model (rooted, custom recovery).
Anyone with experience using a call recorder on the same device - I would be very grateful! Thanks!

ADMINS/MODERATORS: should this go in Q&A Troubleshooting? If so, one of you please move it to that section? Not seeing an option to move and/or delete and re-create my thread in the Q&A Troubleshooting section. Thanks for your time!

G2 tweaks box. An xposed module. It can do both automatic recording and it can add a record button to the call menu.

I have the TMO variant but I don't think that matters, I've tried various ROM's and I've noticed on some that there is a "call record" button while in a call, directly in the dailer screen. Is this supposed to be part of every ROM or is this something else? The ROM i'm using is for TMO but this feature is not there.
Any help would be appreciated as I am trying to find the BEST way to record both ends of a voice call for an interview I will be conducting.
Stock recording is the best way and it needs enabling to show up. Its a basic feature in most custom roms but as far as I know not in unmodded unless its enabled on some US devices

call recording does not work out of box
you must have a compatible custome kernel to get it worked.
Echoe ROM with Faux kernel has the call recording, the button is there while making a call and I highly doubt the kernel is responsible for that.
