After some tinkering, finally I was able to add Google account on Kindle Fire HDX and have Gmail working. Chrome also works with Sign-in but not YouTube. Google+ doesn't seem to work at all. I tried various version of Google+ with no luck. Instructions are in the link below.

I thought Google+ was being phased out for Hangouts?
It's too bad YouTube has yet to work on this tablet. I love it, but I can live without it on the HDX. I have other devices that do have YouTube.

To be correct, YouTube does work on the Kindle HDX and even Chromecasting. It just won't let me add my account to it.
Oh good! I don't care about adding my account, as long as I can search and watch!

Any ideas on getting Hangouts going? I tried installing, but everytime I open it it wants to update play services to a newer version.

Apps that require Play Services are not working. I have not gotten Google+ to work and not surprisingly Play Store doesn't work either. I did get Google Search and Google Now to work though.

That makes sense, thanks. Voice works as well, I loaded it after following your directions for gmail and it came right up.
I ever met the same problem, but it became normal without doing nothing.
Remove account
Anyone have an idea of how to delete an account once added? I tried the app "quick settings" but it crashes on the HDX. I ended up using an uninstall app to remove Google Account manager and when reinstalled they were gone, but was wondering if anyone had found a way to access the account manager itself?

I got my OTA Touchwiz update this morning, and after it rebooted I noticed that the Marketplace app had the video option at the top now. Great, but some of my other apps were acting kind of wonky so I did a system restore via the homebutton-leftvolume method, and now that I got everything back up and running I see that option in the Market is missing.
Any idea how to get it back? If it matters I'm running stock everything, never installed a bootloader, or anything out of the ordinary.
Fixed it! Had to remove and re-add my google account, and it prompted me to accept the EULA in the marketplace. After which the movie tab appeared.
I got the same issue. The movies section for android market doesnt show up but the google video app is installed though.
I have the movies. I an not in the US but used vpn prior update
I kinda remember that I didn't have movies in the market place until I opened the video/videos app in my apps and agreed on the software license agreement.
Same issue here. I have opened the movies app and added my account and accepted the agreement. I was actually looking forward to having this.

Where did you remove the google account from? The settings accounts/sync or the market app?
Thanks! Did that and I got movies working now. For anyone having trouble then first remove your google account in the accounts/sync menu in settings. Then go to applications>all>market then force stop and clear data in it. After that go back to home screen then open the market. Sign in from there and then it will ask you to accept license agreement. Hit accept and you'll be in the market with the movies section available.

Awesome, thank you so much for the info, worked like a charm!
Thanks for the heads up. Didn't know I was missing something until I got on here but glad you came to the rescue.
Don't need to remove your account. Just go to settings--> applications--> manage applications--> all and look for MARKET and clear cache and data. Close settings and reopen Market app and accept and that's it; fixed!!!
No Luck
Thanks for the suggestions. I have done that but same problem. There is still no movies section in market. I have the movies application though.
After the touchwiz update I had that movies section the market but after factory reset it was gone. This is very very strange to me.

No I am not in states however I use VPN.
I have Samsung galaxy S2 and with VPN the market works fine and even the movies app works fine with VPN.
I update my Tab 10.1 while I was connected with VPN. After the update I checked market and movies section was there. When I did the factory reset the movies section was not there. Now even though I connect the VPN it does not change anything in the market :-(
I have stop the market, clear data and cache and run the market app but it remains the same i.e. no movies section.
The movies app works fine on VPN though. I have rented a movies and I have watched it using the movies app.
Can you please tell me what is the market version (with movies section) after the touchwiz update? I don't remember exactly but I believe mine is 1.0.28 or something like that. I am away from home at the moment and I can not check the version for sure.
Is there a free vpn that i can use to access movies in market?
thanks,
/qsec
Has anyone got this working with a rooted tab using these steps? I want the best of both worlds, rooted tab AND Google Movies.... I saw that it was possible on Android Central, but I wasn't sure how that was possible - will try some things as well, I just wanted to get other people's experiences on this
Guys. The movie section in market working now. Shutting down market and clearing data & cache alone does not work. You also have to remove your google account from accounts & sync. Open market and it would ask you about google account. Add account and market would start working properly (with movie section). If you are using tab outside US then connect vpn before doing all this procedure.

Genius! Thanks for the tip. Solved my problem w/stock Touchwiz and no Movies in market.
I have got YouTube, Gmail, Currents and Google Maps working in the Kindle Fire HD without rooting. However Google Maps is not able to get the location from Wifi and is not able to sign in using the following process. I was unable to get GTalk (also attached) to work so far. The following process does not use GoogleServicesFramework as was used in the Gingerbread version of Kindle Fire.
I have modded the apps with high resolution 256x256 icons for display in Kindle Fire Carousel using the following guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1495854
I have used You Tube 3.5.5 modded for HD playback. Alternatively this works with any of the APKs found in the following topic or built for Ice Cream Sandwich.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529715
1. Enable installation of applications from unknown sources in Kindle Fire Settings.
2. Install GoogleLoginService.apk.
3. Reboot.
4. Install the Google Apps.
5. Start YouTube. Sign In. It will take you to Google Account Manager to create/use existing Google credentials.
6. Same goes for other apps. In case sign in fails for any of the apps (except Maps/GTalk) drag down the Kindle Fire notification bar, click on the notification for "Permission requested....." and assign required permissions.

UPDATE: Thanks to alkemist80, installing GoogleServicesFramework.apk, rebooting & installing Talk from the following post, Talk works perfectly fine on Kindle Fire HD, unless it goes into sleep mode.

When I first got my fire I side loaded Gtalk after installing GoogleServicesFramework and it worked fine. I just installed the GoogleLoginService.apk and was able to log in to Youtube just fine but that does seem to have broken Gtalk for me. The gtalk .apk I was using just hangs while trying to sign me in. The one you provided immediately force closes when I try to open it. It seems to be trying to log me in as "@youtube.com" as opposed to "@gmail.com". I have been able to get it to let me sign incorrectly with gmail/drive/youtube but I don't get a chance to choose my log in as gtalk tries to start right up. That is weird that is was working before and now it's not. Any ideas?
Update: Using a google maps .apk I had as opposed to the one you included I was able to get maps up and running flawlessly as well as Navigation with turn by turn. I was also able to get Google Drive working as well. Here is the maps .apk I used:https://www.dropbox.com/s/lh5a4h9i6ex3nhv/com.google.android.apps.maps-1.apk
Thanks for the maps apk, I will try it out. Well, multiple google/drive/youtube login thing never happened for me. Are you having both of these files - Gingerbread version of GoogleServicesFramework.apk and ICS version of GoogleLoginService.apk in the system? It could cause a problem. Otherwise doing a Clear Data on the GoogleLoginService (Google Account Manager) may clean up those ids.

I'm still having trouble with Drive. Youtube works, maps work, currents work, and so does Google books. I would really like Drive.to work as well.
Here's what it does. I have the Google accounts all installed but not the framework. When I had the framework installed quite a few programs stopped working. Now when I install drive, about 2 seconds later I get a message that drive has stopped. Then I go to the home screen and then get another drive has stopped message. If I try running it, a few times it looks like it is doing something, but I end up with the same.message. sometimes when I true running it I just get the message.
Yes, I've shut down several times. Any advice is appreciated.

I had some apps working using only the OP instructions; that is I wasn't running the framework at all. When I loaded the framework (then rebooted) so I could run the rest, most previously working apps stopped working. I found that if I reinstalled (no need to uninstall) those apps via ES file explorer (it has supervisor permissions) they immediately started working. I did root last night, but have not messed with the system folder to load Play as there is no backup yet. Not sure root is needed though, nor if supervisor permissions is an issue. Every app works great now. Only weirdness is Maps shows my position about 500 yards off target, while mapQuest is spot on. No biggie, just strange.
Thanks to the OP and others for getting us this far.

Well, this might be the Gingerbread version of Talk. The ICS versions I have are all > 2MB. The Gingerbread GoogleServicesFramework - Gingerbread Talk combination works fine in the ICS Kindle Fire HD but it messes up other Google Apps. Also I am unable to install any ICS version of GoogleServicesFramework yet. And the ICS version of Talk is unable to login without the Framework.
4.0.3 GoogleServicesFramework and Gtalk app from my EVO 3D. Both are running on my ROOTED kindle fire HD, no problems with google maps, play store or youtubeHD. However Gtalk does not seem to be supporting the front facing camera and causes the app to crash if you or someone else tries to connect via camera. Still trying to get gmail to function correctly, it will not push emails.
I seem to still be running into issues with Gtalk logging out while the device is in sleep mode.
Is this down for anyone else? Generic ones work. Remind me to watch TV works. Remind me to watch TV @ 10:00 doesn't.
Thanks

Weird. Is it on my end or something's up with Google?

account manager 4.0.3
framework 4.0.4
play services 7.3.29
playstore 4.3.10
youtube 10.16.53
Reboot the tablet.
Go to youtube and you should get that normal google account login screen.
Login and presto! There you have it latest youtube apk with sign in ability.

Yes I am aware of that youtube app with the blue icon in the amazon app store but I wasn't satisfied with it.
I haven't tried any other google apps yet with this combo.
I really hope this works for others. I just spent the last 5-6 hours figuring this out and it's now nearly 2am.

Chrome should work regardless of framework (at least it did last time I tried). If not try Opera. Same underlying engine (Chromium) with a different skin.

Is it just me, or does doing this break other apps? Skype won't work properly (no contacts or message history), TuneIn radio won't even get past the initial screen. Why is this happening? Sorry I'm new to this stuff.
I should add that uninstalling these packages then causes everything to work again, so it does seem to be causing it.

Installing Google framework/services/store/etc on Fire OS is always a crap shoot as Amazon has its own set of conflicting services. Many get it to work (at least partially) while others experience problems. Installing framework/services on an unrooted device presents additional challenges....but also adds a layer of safety as you can typically install/experiment/uninstall without serious consequences. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer to your current situation; responding to "why is this happening?". You'll probably get it to work eventually with help from others.
That makes sense. I did manage to get Skype 5.1 working but anything after that breaks. Must have added a new feature since then that gets into that services conflict you mention. No luck with TuneIn, though I found an alternative for that.

If your family is looking for unfettered access to the play store you should definitely look for another device. It will be awhile before alternative roms become available to newer Kindles and most play store implementations are hacks at best. While the hardware is wonderful you really have to be wed to the Amazon ecosystem to truly appreciate the device (or be fortunate enough to have an 'older' model that can be rooted/unlocked and run a Google friendly rom).

I appreciate the frank reply. I was able to set her up with Chrome and Gmail which were her main concerns. The 1Mobile 3rd party marketplace had any of the other apps she was looking for. I also finished moving all her books over so she's going to take it for a spin this weekend when we head to the beach for a night and see how it goes.

If you are comfortable with 1moble (one of my favorite 'alternative' marketplaces) then many of the shortcomings inherent with the Amazon store can be mitigated. Chrome (more often Gmail) can get fussy without google services/framework. Opera is a nice alternative that utilizes the same core engine as Chrome. Gmail is a little tougher to directly emulate; plenty of alternatives if the Gmail app coughs up a fur ball (I happen to like Aquamail). You really don't need root but if you choose to do so Xposed framework adds a few nice touches that can further tame an HDX without compromising native functionality.
Hope it works out for you folks.
You can run Google services framework without root. People have been having issues with the newer builds however. If it does not work for you, try build version 7.0.99.

That will work for now (thanks @lekofraggle for the tip) but be aware Google is quickly adapting apps to leverage capabilities introduced in newer builds of services framework. For now that appears confined to Maps and Google Now (eg: card features) and primarly targets Lollipop.
You are welcome. I know about the impending issue with Google play services. Hopefully they fix the issues soon. Google maps works for now but complains.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, running CyanogenMod.
I don't use google play or any google products on the phone. The phone has no google account associated with it. I use MicroG (microg.org) and Needle (github.com/moosd/Needle)
I use Lyft to get around a lot. This was working fine until recently. Now as soon as I open the app, I see a big warning that it won't work until I update google play services, and then nothing. I can't get past that.

I use Lyft to get around a lot. This was working fine until recently. Now as soon as I open the app, I see a big warning that it won't work until I update google play services, and then nothing. I can't get past that.
