[Q] Please help - Bricked 2012 N7 - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone - long time listener, first time caller...
I have a 2012 rooted N7 that has never given me any problems. It gets extremely limited usage. I recently updated to 4.2 successfully and it's been sitting on the shelf for at least a couple weeks since, battery dead. I charged it last night with the hopes of getting Ubuntu Touch installed this morning.
The N7 is stuck at the "X" splash screen. I've had this happen before and I've been able to boot into recovery, factory reset, and all is good in the world. Not this time...I've tried factory resetting with no luck. I thought hey, I can just flash it anyhow...no such luck...
adb devices from the bootloader comes up null. adb devices from recovery mode shows the N7 but also shows it as in recovery and I can't seem to do anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the bootloader (fastboot), adb is useless. You must use "fastboot devices"
If your N7 is recognized, you can restore it with factory images from Google, or a toolkiit.

Bootlooping LS980, previously rooted, stock recovery.

Ok, so i rooted my LS980 from day 1. A week later, I dropped my phone and cracked half my screen Regardless, the phone was working fine for a month or so. Then..... Along came the LS980ZVA update.... My phone kept telling me that the update was downloaded and ready to install. I kept ignoring it of course.
So one day, after work, I pull my phone out of my pocket and it begins to boot, stays alive for a minute or so(with zero signal and no touch input), and then begins to boot loop. I assume that my phone managed to update in my pocket, so I tired to boot to TWRP and restore a backup. This only sent my phone back into the bootloop
Next, I tried restoring my phone back to stock with the LG Flash tool. Long story short..... Half the time while in download mode, my phone will say it's rooted and the other half will say unrooted. And now im STUCK WITH STOCK RECOVERY!!!! I managed to get usb debugging enabled and can change my PC connection mode before it loops, but so far no rooting method works and I can't get any ADB commands to work.
Every time I issue an adb command it returns "error closed."
I can get into download mode, stock recovery, and can manage to get the phone to stay booted for a maximum of around two minutes or so...
What can i do!!!???!?!?!?!? My software still says i'm on on ZV7 firmware.... What can I do with stock recovery, no remaining nandroid backups, no adb, and a bootloop...? Maybe there's a solution utilizing linux...?
Any help would be sooooooooo appreciated!!!

[Q] Nexus 4 dead day after 4.4.3

So i updated my (not a year old) nexus 4 yesterday and today it died.
First off:
Ive never done any rooting, OCing or anything else fancy with my nexus, nor has anyone else.
Now, some time today the nexus got stuck in a bootloop, it was freshly recharged so it kept rebooting.
In the beginning full boots, after a while it got stuck at the 4 circles, later at the google logo, until now: completely dead, i suspect because of a drained battery.
I've been recharging the device for a few hours now, the red notification light keeps blinking and there's no hope for a (safe) reboot (yet)...
Any advice?
Do i keep charging it or is it a lost cause?
I'd rather not tinker with the device's internals, in case i would void the warranty.
Is your bootloader unlocked? Charge it up and then flash the factory image with fastboot.

My guess is that some files must have been corrupted during the update. Can you boot to fastboot mode (hold down both power and volume down)?.
My phone is acting similarly since yesterday. Stuck at bootloop even after reflashing the whole 4.4.3 factory image. Even recovery works fine, I just can't get past the boot animation :crying:

[Q] Nexus 7(2012) stuck in fast boot mode, bricked?

Have a standard Nexus 7(2012), 18m old. OTA upped to Android 4.4.4. a month+ ago. Never rooted. From then on it has lasted a week or less before freezes/reboots while using apps or even nothing at all.
Have undertaken boots to fastboot mode (android on its back, door open but no red triangle) and then entered recovery mode to wipe system cache and then do a factory reset. This sometimes progresses thru startup restoring apps ok. Sometimes it crashes part way thru. Often get background Chrome and Maps crashes of late as it redownloads my old apps.
Google HW support line recommended this course of action until last time when desperate Indian woman out of her depth tried to say it was a hardware fault and palmed me off on Ausus(uk) saying they did a 2yr warranty... which I think they don't. Still to investigate that one.
The reboots kicked off again today. So did the usual: did a cache clear then factory reset and it restarted. Now it crashed while the Android coloured balls still rotating! And forcing into fast mode to do a 2nd factory reset failed as when I select Recovery Mode it now says "Booting failed" in small letters at the top and dumps u back in Recovery mode, though less the Android logo on its back. Cannot restart bootloader either, same error. Rebooting just freezes with "Google" displayed.
Have I "bricked it" somehow. How to I get past this?
As a novice, I have got Nexus Root Toolkit v1.8.5and tried to reflash to stock 4.4.4 rom on it. But bootloader is locked, as it is delivered, and it will not unlock it. (read from The Definitive Guide on How to Restore Your Nexus 7 Tablet (Even if You've Bricked It from nexus7 wonderhowto site)
Anyone got any info on what to do here? Better reflash tool/instructions? Is it hardware problem? Do Asus uk do a 2yr warranty that I need after 18months? Is this tablet permanently a dead parrot?
Any help, I am desperate here. Thanks

Gets stuck during boot up(unrooted)

I've been on my way to turn in my Nexus 7 were I originally bought it in July 2013 due to several issues: the famous screen problem where the tablet seems to live a life on its own and where your only option is to do a hard reboot and also that it's been charging awfully slow the latest months.
Hower, a few weeks ago, it suddenly wouldn't start up normally. It always gets stuck on the Kitkat animation.
Just half an hour ago, after managing to charge it full via my computer, I booted it to recovery mode and emptied the system cache partition. That didn't solve the problem. I'm not even able to get to the recover menu anymore.
The reason why I'm not turning it in is because i'd like to do a backup on my files that are on it. Oh, and I should mention that the tablet is completely original and not rooted.
Any ideas? It'd be too bad to loose images etc...
Anyone?

LG G2 D801 Bootloop after flash/reboot

Hello,
I'm currently experiencing a bootloop on my phone, it gets to the resurrection remix logo screen during boot then restarts. I've tried booting into recovery and download mode. When I try to boot into recovery it loads the factory reset screen as usual but when I say yes to the reset in order to launch TWRP it just goes to the LG logo, then remix and restarts all over. I got into download mode one time since this started but since then I've made countless attempts to boot into it again and can't.
What I was doing right before this happened is, I recently completely wiped my phone, flashed stock firmware, wiped, then installed resurrection remix. Everything was going perfect, it started no problem, I went through and cleaned up some apps I didn't want etc normal setup steps then I used the power menu to boot into recovery instead of just using the hardware keys and the bootloop started.
Besides the not booting, the other major issue here is that it never stays connected to the pc via adb long enough to do any actions or flash a single file. By the time the pc sees it and adb sees it, I have roughly 2 seconds before it restarts again.
I really really really need any help I can get please ASAP as this is my mom's phone and she needs it for work in 4 hours. This issue started about four hours ago and I've been trying to fix it ever since. I feel like I have looked everywhere on here and through google but probably missed the solution. Before you ask, I'm 28 not a teenager and work in IT as a career for the last 12 years so don't get the wrong impression. She asked me to work on it because I had set it up a few months back with a lollipop version of resurrection remix and magisk, but in the last month or so she was having really poor performance and issues with settings crashing and a few other apps.
I hope you don't need any more info from me, if you do however I'll be here trying to fix it until she goes to work at least. I really could use the help and would greatly appreciate it.
Thank You
