Unlock your Samsung Galaxy Express AT&T i437P FREE!!
This is for who have 4.1.2 firmware ONLY and can´t unlock using unlock code.
Took me a long time, but now a have my i437P unlocked.
Just follow the steps.
root your phone follow this
Don´t install CM10.1 or CM10.2 now. You are going to do this later.
Create a backup.
Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition and dalvik cache (found in advanced)
download 4.0.4 firmware from sammobile.com SGH-I437 USA (AT&T) 4.0.4
This firmware is for the model i437, not for i437P, but works.
You goin to lose Wifi and Bluetooth but don´t worry.
Use Odim and put 4.0.4 firmware. You goin to lose root, but no problem.
Don´t use any sim card for now.
Lets unlock the phone using this code:
Just dial the following keys *#197328640#
Main Menu
[1] UMTS
[1] Debug Screen
[8] Phone Control
[6] Network Lock
[3]Perso SHA256 OFF
(after choosing this option, wait about 30 seconds, then go back one step by pressing the Menu button then select Back, now you are in
[6] Network Lock then choose
[4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ ..... wait for a minute then reboot your phone
put your sim card and your phone is unlocked.
Now lets go back to 4.1.2
repeat the steps to root your phone.
Restore the backup made by clockworkmod.
Follow the steps "You will likely run into issues with non functional WiFi. To resolve this, after flashing the ROM, follow these simple steps:" in this
Than install CM10.2 that works FINE!!!
Thanks jt1134 for CM10.2 and AwesomeTurtle that help me.
Sorry for my bad english.
It's really a shame that ATT got samsung to remove this trick in jelly bean. Such a hassle to flash twice for something which should be as simple as a phone unlock. Not that I'm surprised that they pulled this, but it's still annoying.

can you find the 4.0.4 firmware so i can downgrade to unlock my device
Interested in locating that 4.0.4 firmware myself (I437UCALI6_I437ATTALI6_ATT.zip) as SamMobile's site no longer has it, and a cursory search online provided absolutely no viable sources - last one was Hotfile and they're long gone now.
Surely someone has that archive stashed someplace... right?
Right?
Now lets go back to 4.1.2

how to you go back to 4.1.2 after you put the 4.0.4?
same way with odin?
Problems...
Ok. I did everything you guys said, except i had to find a new 4.0.4 download, cause the one provided here was gone already.
Found a 4.0.4 download, flashed it to my I437P through odin, it works, i unlocked it, works perfectly BUT, now when i try to write the CWM backup to my sdcard (saved it on my computer, instead on phone) it just reboots the device and doesnt let me copy anything, says its write protected or some ****.
Anyway, i need to put the backup back into the CWM folder, but cant!
Should i root it again?
Easy way using NSpro *** tested working ***
Hello, I found a better way using the NSPro box....
after spending hours and hours or headache,,, finally solve this mystery
NO ROOT
NO CWM
NO EVEN DEBUGGING
tested in 2 x SGH-i437P, both working flawless now
from the stock i437P 4.1.2 use odin 3.07 to downgrade to i437 stock 4.0.4 (select PDA)
VOL DOWN + HOME + Power when your see DOWNLOAD release all buttons... the press VOL UP
when complete, restart and if the phone get stuck in the rethink att, just go to recovery and do a full reset, wipe data/cache
select i437 in NSpro 6.7.1
choose unlock
after successfully unlock
copy the i437 OTA 4.1.2 in a microsd
turn on the phone in recovery mode VOL UP + HOME + Power when your see recovery release all buttons...
select zip file
choose 4.1.2 update, wait... long time....
after complete, you have a unlocked i437P with WIFI and 4G fully working.......
that's it...... thank's please!!!!!!
I'm too new posting then I can't post links, I uploaded to 4shared if you can look for the files they are:
I437 4.1.2 update.zip
Odin_v3.07.zip

Hi I have a SGH-I437P unlocked by imei. It Works OK except it does not get CDMA (only EDGE).
Android 4.1.2 BASE BAND I437PUCBMG3, KERNEL 3.0.31-1304283.
I have another SGH-I437P 4.1.2 Android 4.1.2 BASE BAND I437PUCAME2, KERNEL 3.0.31-1184741 that Works perfect with 3G (HSPA)
Can you help so I can get CDMA or 3G (HSPA) with the Android 4.1.2 BASE BAND I437PUCBMG3, KERNEL 3.0.31-1304283.
Thanks
The Galaxy Express isn't a CDMA telephone, it's a GSM device - it can operate on WCDMA which is an offshoot of CDMA but they're not the same exactly technology. You can't use the Galaxy Express with a CDMA-only provider like Sprint, Boost, Verizon, Cricket, etc or some other CMDA-based carrier around the world.
Gotta be a GSM carrier (with WCDMA support, if needed, for HSPA/HSPA+). Use PhoneInfo (an app) to get to the service menu and set it for WCDMA Preferred if needed since the 4.1.2 update took out the *#*#4636#*#* code to do it - that code works with 4.0.4 however but you're on 4.1.2.
HSPA not working

I tried PhoneInfo (roys program) but it didn´t work on the cellphone, the phone info from vndnguyen has no way of changing the baseband.
I tried also with the 4636v2 with no result.
If I use the *#2263# command it enters in baseband menú but when I choose wcdma I miss the Internet connection.
Do you have something to suggest, so I can have HSPA connection? I have another SGH-I437p that recognizes HSPA with no problema.
check my earlier post!

Yah, I finally did locate it, thanks. In fact, I got a second Galaxy Express in early May, an I437P model (the GoPhone model), and it crapped out on me a week later so I registered it to me since the previous owner hadn't done it (which started the 1-year warranty period), made a service request, sent it to them, and they replaced the mobo and the frame (which had some nicks in the finish); the one they sent back is an I437, not an I437P so, although it shouldn't make any difference(s) overall I now have an I437, I suppose.
Anyway, I found the ROM in early May, I can stash it on Mega if anyone needs it, not sure if I have the 4.1.2 update file around anymore.
Now I have been stuggling with this for a while now. I have been able to dowgrade to 4.0.4 and unlock the phone but now I don't know how to go back to 4.2.1. I tried to settle and said if I just fixed the wifi and bluetooth that I'll let it be at that but that is not the case. I have rooted it, put supersu on it, installed clockword mod, but I can't seem to get to the boot screen to install the fixes. I've been trying to find a 4.2.1 firmware that I can flash threw odin but I have been unsuccessful. I really need help finding this firmware so I can go one more step forward, at least. Trying to reboot in recovery from clockwork doesn't work, and same with doing it manually from power down. I really need help!
Nevermind! I didn't realize that if I wiped everything, including the jailbreak and then flashed it with the 4.0.4 that it would let me go to boot recovery. I also didn't know that the 4.2.1 had do be in a zip in the SD card. Hopefully me adding this will help anyone that may encounter this problemQ

Hello everyone,
i am fairly new to the world of rooting and recently encountered a problem while flashing a rom
i have the at&t samsung galaxy note 3 N-900A running 4.3 jellybean (2 year contract expired and i got and used the unlock code)
i rooted the phone using the kingo root app, because i could not update the phone (I recently moved out of the USA so i cant connect to an at&t server to update)
i installed safestrap recovery 3.71 and it was running fine
i found a tutorial from galaxy note 3 root for the knoxraid ro
(put youtube. c o m here) /watch?v=8HDHt4xSnQY
according to the tutorial i had to install the rom over the stock rom file
so i copied the stock rom to rom slot 1
this is where i messed up, i installed the knoxraid rom over the stock rom without wiping/data factory reset first. But it gets worse, i realized i forgot to wipe the data from safestrap so before the install was even halfway completed, i pulled the battery out.
now whenever i turn it on it will go straight to recovery mode
it wont even turn off. i have to pull the battery out.
i can get to download mode and recovery mode but thats it.
im not sure about the build number because it wont boot up
all i can tell you is it is a at&t note 3 running 4.3 jellybean
please help if you can
btw: my computer wont recognize the phone because it says the PHONE does not have the correct drivers installed
however odin still recognizes it with the blue box with 0:[COM6] if that helps
so yeah please help me the phone is fairly new and i dont want to waste $600

Hey all! so.. my friend came from U.S and he got me a used Galaxy 4 from AT&T, and the Wifi is just stuck on a green grey situation, its not on or off
i tried any solution online that i could find. i don't know what to do anymore. nothing helping the things that are only helping was changing the router settings to a different encryption mode from WEP and then its worked but when i connected my gs4 to a different wifi connection the problem happened again
the wifi can work days if I'm not switching wifi spots.
my only solution by now was just to change to a whole new custom ROM
the problem is, that i have NO IDEA how to do it due the fact that i have a mac and i couldn't find a Proper noob guide from scratch to do that. please help me! i am a graphic designer and an artist with a MA in fine arts and i would love to help u guys too
Thank you so much!

This is what I used to get adb/fastboot on my iMac. I am on MDL build, early version phone.
You will need to find you build number first. Under Settings/About Device to determine how to flash roms on the phone--a screen of that page may help also--

hey thanks i added a photo but apparently i need 10 posts at least so just add www i58.tinypic.com/v41bue.png
the wifi is working cuz i restart it to manufacture settings again but soon as i will disconnect him and join a different connection he will go grey again
From the PM photo you are on NB1 build--
If you are going to root to flash a custom rom you will need the below two links--
Read Op page of first link, I think it depends on how the phone got to NB1 as which steps you need.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2616221
You will need SafeStrap in below link. So, read up on that.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448925
These are if you are going to root to flash a rom. You can only flash Touch Wiz roms and no custom kernels or recovries.
If you want to get back to stock status you will need to flash the appropriare firmware and use Odin on a PC and Heimdall on Mac. Will have to research that.
What carrier are you on and where you are at?
Was the phone ever rooted--
I never returned to stock or used SafeStrap, so someone with hands on experience will have to help on that.
Hiii....I am also having the same problem. My phone was unlocked by a guy and everything was working fine then. From next day the i could not turn on WiFi(It would go grayish for some time and then return to normal).I tried searching for it online and found the following soln
1)Reboot and check(Didn't work)
2)Factory Reset:After doing this it worked for that initial scanning but again was back to normal once wifi was switched off
3)Factory reset and installed root browser(my phone is rooted as i was able to install root explorer) and tried renaming the wpa-supplant config file
.This was worked for me for like 4 days.
After that again the problem is back and its even worse. It is immediately turning off as opposed to delay in previous case. When i tried to follow the same procedure the config files are not present.I could not on wifi even after factory reset even once
As i am a new around here detailed help would be appreciated;
My Device Features:
1)Andriod:4.4.2,SGH I337
2)Baseband:I337UCUFNC1
3)kernel Version:3.4.0-1125940
4)Build No:KOT49H.I337UCUFNC1

First of all this is my very first post on the community, i dont usually post here but since i have been on here since the times of the motorola droid 2 i might as well post this thing that i did to help me sort the problem with the data on the galaxy s5
Things that i used:
TWRP Recovery installed via TWRP Manager from playstore
Galaxy s5 4.4.2 already rooted via kingoroot ( You can use any other method that you prefer)
Shohat ROM V5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2719386 (All credits go directly to Shohat for this amazing rom)
Build prop editor (You can get it from playstore)
cm-11-20140919-UNOFFICIAL-klte (This is available for download at androidhost here http://d-h.st/niU , all credits go to Albinoman887 for uploading that file and to cyanogen for making that build)
SSU.APK http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...print-samsung-unlocker-unlock-sprint-t2928250 (All credits go to aalyatim for making this wonderful app)
Patience
Lets begin
First off all you got to root the phone , i used kingoroot as its one of the fastest and easiest method to root your device , it even gives you on screen steps for doing the rooting process
Next once the device has been successfully rooted we are going to go on ahead and download TWRP Manager from playstore, install it and install the recovery on your phone ( If you already have it or if you have a diferent method to install it theres not a problem)
Next once the recovery has been installed we are going to unlock the phone by using SSU.apk and just installing the app and running it (If you have already unlocked the phone there is no need to install the unlock again)
Next once the phone has been successfully unlocked we are going to be doing the next step, download build prop editor from playstore , give root priviliges to it , go to the edit option ( Small pencil located at the bottom right of the screen ) and scroll down all the way to the bottom, once here type in the following:
ril.sales_code=LOL
ro.csc.sales_code=LOL
Once you have that in , we are going to save it by going to the top right and clicking the floppy disk and waiting for it to save build prop
Next step will be turning off device and entering recovery mode ( You can google how to access recovery mode ) , once inside recovery we are going to be doing the following , since im using TWRP i went to WIPE, then FACTORY RESET , after that i went to ADVANCED WIPE , and checked dalvik cache , system, data, cache i got an error on trying to write something but thats normal
Next step was installing the cm-11-20140919-UNOFFICIAL-klte that you previously downloaded on the steps below , install gapps if you want but it wont be necessary , once thats install and the phone boots you will be able to see the H+, 3g or the connection that you have on your area based on your gsm provider
Now in case you want to stop here and stay with cyanogen you can do it , but if you want to have the stock fresh look of S5 TouchWiz then we are going to do next steps
Once thats done we are going to be accessing recovery once more , once inside we are going to be doing the exact same process that we did before i went to WIPE, then FACTORY RESET , after that i went to ADVANCED WIPE , and checked dalvik cache , system, data, cache i got an error on trying to write something but thats normal
Next we will be installing the rom Shohat ROM V5 once it begins, it takes a while for it to finish , do not restart your device until its done even if it appears its not doing anything , once install reboot the device , you will wait a moment for it to load, once loaded you will be getting the samsung galaxy welcome screen , complete all of the steps to finish the setup and youre done , if you dont see the H+ sign or the signal , just check that your apn are there and were done
I Have tried with AT&T and with a foreign carrier in mexico and it worked great
I have attached pictures with proof , i took it with my camera so it doesn look edited or anything , i hope this helps you out as it helped me

Are you saying the phone picked up signal with an AT&T SIM here in the US...?
As far as I know, this doesn't work on the G900P for domestic use. It probably worked for the OP because he's in Mexico (or I've just molested my G900P so much it's not picking up any GSM networks).

Your Solution Worked!!!
Thank you so much.
I can confirm that this WORKS!!!
I was heart broken after I unlocked the phone and could not get data on Digicel Dominica (in the Caribbean) even with the correct APN settings. I googled for some time until I found your post. I got on it. Restored the efs data partitions And performed the note 3 domestic unlock steps and dest's (sorry buddy, I only remember your original username!) international unlock app. I then modified the build.prop as much as I could to the Verizon build (G900V). I can see T Mobile and AT&T networks when searching with a valid T Mobile SIM in, but cant connect obviously. The invalid SIM notification would have to be legitimately removed before one could even consider registering onto the network. I...just want to take a peek at nv item 10124

Yeah I remember seeing 10124 mentioned. It'll be interesting to see what form DSU takes. It's obviously still an OTA process instead of a code but I'm curious as to how different it is from the current international method

Its just another IPC command called over RIL I bet. If you followed the ORIGINAL author of the international unlock's post he drops the hint on what IPC command was called. I was able to decompile his app, change the IPC command and relock the phone, confirming that the phone is indeed locked using this method instead of directly accessing the nv items over the QC diag port. We are able to log the international unlock process if you know how to set the debugging levels high enough. With a domestic unlock on the horizon via OTA, it shouldn't be long before the domestic unlock back is public.

I dropped to NE (4.4.2) to get it to work. It has everything I want expect wifi calling. I have the same question if there a 4.4.4 touchwiz rom (or 4.4.2 with wifi calling) that works with this.
Thanks OP!
is fingerprint working in shohat rom? mine is not working, NFC either...
Thanks!
shohat rom working on 4.4.4 ( NK4 ) ? i only got black screen ...
I can confirm that this really works.
Thanks bro for this wonderful job.
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app
This really works, thanks. I can confirm that the method work in 4.4.4 using cm11 but shohatrom don't work so if you want touchwiz you should use xtrestolite rom (that one works)
Anyways as my title says, i don't have wifi. I had first rooted my phone, but then I unrooted my phone by flashing some unrooted os on the samsung which caused two problems. My wifi and mobile data didn't work at all, but after I took it to a repair shop they fixed the mobile data and got it working again and rooted my phone but not the wifi part. According to the person that tried to fix my phone, the current android os, 4.3 - jellybean, that i flashed via odin is preventing the wifi from working. I don't really know whats wrong with the phone but can anyone help me? Also by baseband version is 1337UCUFNJ4 and the build number is JSS15.1337UCUEMK2. Should i try to find a ROM that matches my baseband version and flash it via odin? Thank you in advance!
P.S. This is my first thread, so please tell me if i violated any rules.

im having the same problem and i think we both have knox stupid security back on the phone that's blocking the wlan to start from bad permission or encryption
so personally yeah i will install back the original firmware (before 4.3) from factory reset (or via odin if i have to force it) then im gonna re-root the phone
having back permission ill remove knox (probly with titanium) lock and box bs from base firmware and probly remove root right
then im guessing ill have my internet back now will i go full rom again or basic function thats a good question
so many freaking remote exploit lately
ill let you know if that fix it
I also just found this
om22 said:
1. untick "Auto reboot" in odin
2. flash the stock rom again
3. reboot your phone to download mode again (by holding the power and vol down button for 10 sec)
4. flash the stock rom a second time with auto reboot ticked
This will fix your problem.

seems that clicking auto reboot might be the cause
so would i install the I337_NJ4_Stock_Kernel.tar.md5 file following that method or would i have to find another firmware/rom/(i don't know what to call this) unrooted

official did not work for me
i the flashed / reset to factory for Galaxy S4 SGH-I337M VLUAMDJ
rebooted and prayed but no luck
finally found a solution but that did changed my PDA version to 9505 but got everything working again
so if you dont mind the 9505 change (more rom and solution for 9505) id go with echoes for all in 1 fresh install solution and its a nice rom
Instruction can be found on this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2372286
knowing the problem was modem i did also found this solution to re-flash and fix wifi on i337 without changing to 9505
Follow these instruction to stay i337 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46762296&postcount=1
but i have not tested for i337
in the end i got this setup
rom echoes illusion kot 49h
kernel : 3.4.103-aelkernel-v6.2
bootloader and baseband i337mvlufnc1
pda :i9595v jughn2
hardware/ board : qcom/msm8960
platform / chip : msm8960 / apq9064
modem /board : mdm9215m
hope that help
and sorry for bad english http://cdn4.xda-developers.com/images/icons/icon8.gif
EDIT PS: These solution require basic knowledge with odin flash and cwm recovery or twrp recovery
Hi guys, thanks for taking the time to read and respond
I got a Verizon sm-g930v Galaxy s7 and my service is through T-Mobile.
I currently have Verizons very recent nougat 7 release with security patch of February 1, 2017 and baseband G930VVRU4BQA2.
I have 2 issues which might be related and I'm trying to figure out what's the best way to do it and if it is at all possible.
1) my lte speed is crap and service inside buildings is awful. I read that there are ways to unlock the bootloader but couldn't find how to do it on my phone.
2) no ussd codes work even after factory reset, every single ussd code I put (even the one to view imei) says ussd running and then says connection problem or invalid mmi.
Is it possible to flash T-Mobile nougat firmware on my phone? Will it unlock the bootloader to allow me to unlock all lte bands?
Is there another better way to solve the above issues?
Thanks for your help!

hi, not bootloader unlock yet for the g930v, you can dowload and flash the g930t firmware G930TUVU4BQB1.
Thank you

1. find/download the firmware you want to install on your phone (can find at updato.com)
2. extract the files from the firmware file to a folder
3. download/install Samsung Smart Switch
4. backup your phone settings with Samsung Smart Switch (if you have a memory card, maybe be good to remove that and back it up on PC, probably faster this way than thru Samsung Smart Switch)
5. install the latest version of Odin on your PC, open it
6. select BL/AP/CP/CSC buttons then select the matching file (BL for BL_xyz file, etc) - if you use the HOME_CSC file you will NOT have any tmobile specific features (Wifi Calling) enabled/appear, you must use the regular CSC file to add/enable these features
7. in Odin, select OPTIONS and make sure that only "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" are checked
8. put the galaxy s7 phone in download mode (turn off....while off press VolumeDown+Home+Power until a blue screen appears, press VolumeUp button to enter download mode)
9. connect the galaxy s7 phone to the PC (you should see a blue icon appear under ID:COM afterward)
10. hit START in Odin to begin the process
11. when the process is complete (PASS appears in Odin status window) the galaxy s7 will reboot and begin to install the update
ISSUE - if the phone boots to recovery mode, dm-verity verification failed....DO NOT PANIC....simply put the phone back in download mode, connect it to the PC, and in Odin ONLY select the AP file....install only that file and let the device restart, it should boot to the user menu)
NOTES - while the device is booting to the user menu, it may sit at the Tmobile splash screen an extended amount of time the initial time - please let it sit for a few minutes, and it will boot to the user menu (subsequent restarts don't have a long delay at Tmobile screen)
12. after it boots to the user menu, connect the galaxy s7 to the PC, and restore the phone using Samsung Smart Switch

Thank you so much for taking the time to write all this!! Will it let me go on T-Mobile lte bands after or that won't be possible until there is a bootloader unlock for the device?

Well... no bootloader unlock to free lte bands, and give a try on this rom to find if you can use your lte bands
There is a thread here related to your issue
Take a look at this thread and you may find your answers.

Thank you, I finally got to doing it. It was easy and I now have T-mobile OS on the phone, all Verizon stuff is gone and USSD codes now working. It seems like I was able to select all LTE bands, speed is a bit better indoors but not amazing.
Is there a reason to fully root the phone? and can someone explain what benefits would I have from rooting at this point?

Rooting gives you full control over the phone. Think Windows "Administrator" account.
Some things that a rooted phone can do is fully disable and uninstall stock & carrier Bloatware, install true ad blocking services, firewall control.
But, with that kind of power, it's way easier to brick your phone, or kill the performance of the device if you start changing things that shouldn't be changed.
Thank you

This is an old thread, so I am hoping on some newer information. I have been using a Verizon Galaxy S7 on T-Mobil for about a year. This past week we were in the Lake Michigan area and I found that my wife's A21 got much better reception in several areas. I have been reading here about the g930U firmware as well as the ability to flash to the current T-Mobile ROM.
I do not need to revert back to Verizon, but I need wifi calling and all the bands that are available from T-Mobile. Can just flashing to the T-Mobile for Android 8 work for me?

Just flashed to the most recent t-mobile firmware on my Verizon phone successfully. Thanks to information on this thread!
@dlbeaty what did you use to flash to most recent t-mobile firmware? I have G930V Oreo I am trying to use on T-Mobile and having same issues. Would like to try to flash to resolve as well. Thanks!
