Factory Unlocked LG G2 ? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

do you know where I can get Factory unlock LG G2 ? and also will factory unlocked LG G2 can get 4g or LTE network using tmobile or at&t ?
I like this phone but I hate it when the carrier apps or bloatware goes into this beautiful phone.
and honestly is bloatware from carrier apps inside smartphone is really affected to the performance from the phone itself ?
there's a guy from ebay they sell Factory Unlocked LG G2 but it's from Verizon, but is it true the phone is unlocked from verizon itself or unlocked by the guy him self that sell those phone through ebay, you think ?

Sir if you root and put twrp on its Loki hacked so the locked bootloader means nothing. I'd suggest Malladus rom it is deodexed and free of bloat.

[Q] Unlocked Atrix

Hello my friends,
i was in vacation and a I bought a unlocked atrix 4g. My phone have AT&T logo at the back but it is unlocked for any GSM carrier.
OK ! I returned to Brazil and now i want install the homebase ROM.
My doubt is ..... which kind of ROM should I use ? International or AT&T ? I dont know which group my phone belongs. Because it's unlocked but he has the AT&T ROM.
Thanks for the support.
So it is an at&t phone right?
Lets try to find The logical thing to do here...
Its an at&t phone with at&t ROM... Uhm What do you think?

Thanks for your reply.
Yeah, following the logical though I need install the AT&T ROM. But my doubt is:
The cellphone is unlocked and I use it with other GSM carrier than AT&T. If I install the home base ROM for AT&T smarthphones there is some risk to have my phone Locked again to AT&T carrier ? Or, for the reason I have a unlocked cellphone and use it in international area, I should install the international ROM ?
Thanks for your attention
I own an unlocked at&t atrix with my carrier in México wich is Telcel. With an at&t ROM. No problem at all.
Doesnt lock again

The phone won't be locked again once it's carrier-unlocked (sim unlocked).
It's totally unrelated to the ROM you use for your phone. You can install any ROM you like on your phone. This is from my own experience.

[Q] Best model to get? Stopped into AT&T got the 900A...

So, Was not in the market for a new phone, stopped into at&t, great salesman added a tablet line and set me up with the phone for the contract price plus 10$ a month. good deal.
I Love this phone!! but as I'm moving from apple, want to be able to have absolutely full control over it including custom roms.
From what I'm reading I have the model (900A) which has the bootloader locked.
I am going to order another Note 3 right now and sell this one. What model is Best and will be fully customizable?
I'm sure this has been covered a thousand times. Please simplify this process for me as I continue to research. Thanks!
The one on ebay I'm considering is entitled:
New Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 Quad-Core 5.7'' 13MP 4G LTE 32GB Black Phone
It doesn't matter if the bootloader is locked... You can still customise till your heart content. .. my bootloader is locked. .. hadn't speed me.
To be fair. . There seems more roms available for the n9005 but I'm sure with time they will all get lots of development done

You can load custom roms with a locked bootloader? forgive me, I'm learning as I go
So if I have the 900a.. if I root it am I able to change the color themes etc throughout the system and modify it fully or should I go with the 9005?
If your rooted you are able to change just about everything.

Once you root it and put a custom recovery like cwm or twrp... Flash what you like lol
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
So what specifically are the disadvantages of the 900A vs the 9005?
Thanks for all the help!
Until you root and put in a new ROM the only difference is the ATT bloatware. I know becuase I also have a 900A and have two pages of Apps from ATT that I never will use and can't rid of. In a nut shell the 900A is just ATT variant of the 900.
If you want to see all the difference between the 900A and the 9005 head over to gsmarena and compare the 2.

What can you do with a bootloader that you can't do with a locked bootloader?
Will I be better off with a phone with an unlocked bootloader.
Explain it to me like I'm a child. Like I said earlier, am moving from apple so it's all new to me.
I don't want to get deep into it and realize I need an unlocked bootloader to do what I want to do.
If it is a non issue tell me why.
Thanks for the help.

With a locked bootloader you can still root, but if you try to flash a recovery/kernel/etc the bootloader will refuse to boot it because it is unsigned. That means no recovery, no kernels, no ROMs...only stock ROM tweaking. The N900A, N9005, N900T, and a few other models are all essentially the same phone with different bootloaders, modems, and stock ROMs. I'd recommend the N900T (T-Mobile) which has all the bands needed for AT&T LTE ready to use after you get it unlocked. The N9005 (international Qualcomm) version lacks the LTE bands for AT&T/T-Mobile I think but you might be able to flash a T-Mo or AT&T modem file to enable them as I think the hardware is actually the same inside.

[q] urgent help!!!

So i just bought a Verizon LG G2 since the guy said it was unlocked for TMobile, but it wont work and Verizon and Tmobile said they wont unlock it.
People have stated that theyve unlocked it with the unlocked code site, but i tried to put my imei and it says that its cdma and wont unlock it even though it has a sim tray. Even reports saying Verizons LG G2 say that its unlocked but for some reason it wont work for me.
How to i unlock it?
Can i ?
It's unlocked... pop in a T-Mobile SIM. Also, backup efs.

[Q] Can you make Verizon LG G2 work on MetroPCS?

I have an LG G2 and want to give it as a present to someone on MetroPCS. Is it possible to flash it or configure it to work on MetroPCS network?
I couldn't find an answer anywhere on google so I came here.
Thank you so much!
Please help..

Im about to do the same thing, ill let you know how it goes..
MetroPCS is under T-Mobile's network so it should work. I'm using a verizon Lg G2 on T-Mobile and it works fine. You just have to root it and load a custom rom like CM or anything like it. The stock rom of the verizon G2 won't recognize a T-Mobile sim card so that's why you have to load a custom rom.
Just wondering if you were able to make it work? because I got a Verizon G2 with Cloudy G3 ROM and it wont work on Metro.
Try choosing the T-Mobile variant. That's what I did to get simple mobile Sim card to work, but do not do it if your scared it's going brick your phone. I don't have the vs980 I have the ls980 and it worked.

LS997 Oddities

Hello Everyone,
I have two different LS997 that I purchased from ebay (but from two different sellers). The first one I purchased simply won't activate on a Sprint MVNO (despite the IMEI and SIM being clean). The second one activated without any issues whatsoever.
I didn't notice until this weekend, but the one that activates cleanly has the Sprint logo as a bootsplash. The one that does not activate has the LG logo as a bootsplash.
I'm really not sure what to make of the one without the Sprint logo. It won't activate, but it will update (I originally updated it from a pre-ZV8 release, before I knew about that restriction).
Is there an LS997 variant that is non-Sprint? Is there something else I should be looking at, or other reasons I'm unable to activate this phone? Even the Sprint FE check comes back clean, so I really don't know what the difference is.
Thanks in advance.

The LS997 is strictly sprint it is possible that the phone had the bootloader unlocked and rooted with dirty santa before arb was incremented so they may have flashed a 996 rom on the phone.

Go to settings /about phone, then look under software and see what it says.

It shows as an LS997, and the software version looks as expected. However, the behavior of the phone doesn't match the other V20 (which activates fine). If I have an unlocked bootloader on this one, is that any use at this point? Given that I can't use fastboot mode, and I understand that booting to LG software wipes the recovery (according to the threads I read), how do I use the unlocked bootloader?

If the bootloader is truly unlocked, you should be able to flash twrp and then root the phone, why can't you use fastboot?
