Tethering may be disabled on your carrier. Btw you might want to try and give us some more info. .. did it work before? What did you do to make it stop working? ..

Yes it did work fine . but after trying dualbooting Ubuntu touch I tink I broke somting olso I changed the modems and a couple of kernels same problem
I switched to cm a couple of days ago and just happend to press the teather button I had in quick toggles. Similar error.
Also Wi-Fi wouldn't turn on until I rebooted.
My carrier doesn't block tethering.

My phone is technically hooked to the network atleast it is when im at home and the wifi is hooked i havent really caught it away from home cause I Wouldnt know anyway but i do notice sometimes right after i get home ill get like 5 text one after the other. Also if i go to mobile network options and choose either access point the simple or the T-mobile and then go to networks and search i get error while searching for network every time and it has yet to find t-mobile or att or cent or anything, just error. Is anyone else having this sort of issue?

have several times including wipe data, cache and dalvik. using cm6.1.1, same results with cm and pershoot kernel.
doesnt seem like i easily find the answer so if someone could even recommend the best area to start looking foe issues that would be great. Or would it help to somehow get an error log from it if that possible? thanks, veritas
Try turning off 3G for a whole day and see if you have the problem. It could be the 3G.

Happened to me. Had to replace my SIM.
Just flashed to new rom, [ROM][PORT][JB]Codename Android port (9/2/2012). And I understand Wifi Calling doesn't work but everything else is flawless. Why isn't my phone connecting to wifi?!
More details. Do you get a wifi error? Does it fail to see networks? Does it refuse to connect? Have you tried different types of encryption or none at all?

So I got my nexus 4 about a week ago, i havent flashed any roms or anything, everything is stock.
Im having this issue where every time i want to use the internet/facebookapp/anyinternetapp i have to toggle the data on and off for it to work again otherwise my data doesnt work.
What can i do to fix this? This is extremely frustrating

Make sure your APN protocol only has the value "ipv6". Perhaps you see this mentioned in a recent post...

Uk here.. dial *#*#4636#*#* set phone network from wcdma prefered to LTE/GSM-PRL, turn radio off then back on .. now even though they are the wrong settings it's the only way i can can decent 3G(H) speeds and not have the minute or two 3G lockups... shrugs.
I have the same issue and I'm with Tmobile. I was on stock ROM and now im rooted on xylon ROM but still data wont connect sometimes . I made new apns too. I have to toggle data or power cycle to connect

This is my first post ever on xda and I am in desperate need of help. I have a droid razr M that recently recieved an OTA update to 4.1.2. My wifi would not toggle on after the update. I thought I might have gotten a virus or something so just to be sure I unlocked my boot loader, flashed 4.1.1 stock back onto my phone, wifi worked just fine. OTA update again to 4.1.2 and it immediately quit working. My sister and brother have the same exact phone and this did not happen for them. Please help, my phone has basically become useless to me since I cannot connect to wifi. Thank you to whoever can help me with this problem.
How much do you care about losing user data? You could wipe user data and see if that would fix it...

Your WiFi settings could have reset after the update. Check the settings to ensure that you have unchecked ignore weak signals.

Also make sure you have Wifi switched to "Always" in advanced settings. Keeps Wifi from turning off when your screen turns off.

hey
since a few days ago i started being unable to access the play store at all - 3G AND WIFI.
now i have tried force stop delete cache etc - no solve. ( i had CM)
i went stock rom, then i unlocked it and rooted
i tried to access play store via wifi - no success. 3G is now working
i've tried force stop cache etc no work. tried to go airplane mode and wifi no work
i've out of solutions
would very much like help about this thing

Did you recently change any setting in your router? Also what WiFi setting u using? I mean is it WEP or WPA or WPA2?

where did you use your device? i mean which country. have u consider some country firewall reason that ban google 's service ip?:laugh:
