Ok so I was using the camera yesterday and decided to test the slow motion feature which looks awesome. The only thing wrong was that there was no sound during playback. Can anyone confirm this or test it?
Cheers

Hi !
Before being a gardener, I was a cameraman and as far I remember, there was no sound in slow-mo shoots. In my experience, even in an video editoring software (sorry, maybe I speak English with my french thoughts), when you change a regular motion into a slow one the sound disappears because of the time expansion - then you can put it back and stretch it, etc.
Sure, did another one just now, simple ball falling! Quality isn't that great but still no sound

Hey man, thanks for the input! The reason I asked is because my lil bro has an icrap and he was showing off his slow motion so I decided to fiddle with the note to see what it could do. The end result is a better video shot but no audio. Iphone had a quicker framerate, so not as slow as the gn3 but it also had audio.

Tell your brother that's not "professional" to have both audio and video shooted in slow-mo at the same time !
Haha, I know! Still looks cool tho. Need people to have a look and see of its available to have both together! Plus everything sounds so much funnier in slow motion!

I tried and I get no sound on slow motion videos. So it will make your brother and his ''phone'' treat you as a joke, you and your ennemy's device... for a looooong time !
Like we say in France : Courage !

I'm sure you "can" hack it to allow sound. Why would you want sound in slow mo though? It is choppy since its recorded in real time then slowed.
No Sound!?

Just incase anyone was wondering it has a great slow motion video feature allowing you to film in 1/2 1/4 or 1/8 speed (I believe its actually recording in high speed and playing back in slow speed) but its smooth and decent quality and great fun to play with. It also has a fast motion setting.
Im sure you probably knew already but I just found the settings and was chuffed and thought id share it with ya.

I guess it's understandable that the Slo-Mo is at a lower resolution (gotta sample more per second) but I don't understand the fast-mo being lower resolution... just take 1080p 30fps and then play it back at 30 fps while dropping every other frame...
I'll post mine when I'm allowed (after 5 more posts, I think)
Stay tuned.

Did you make that video using ONLY the Galaxy Note 2 or did you use some additional editing software?
I did a video of my dog jumping in slow motion.
(I'll post the link when I'm allowed (after 10 posts I think))
But I wasn't very pleased with the quality, and specially with the blur (ghosting) of the camera's software.
I'm still doing more tests. Stay tuned.

I managed to get some hands experience on the note 3 at work the other day but I forgot to check if slow motion play back was available. Has anyone heard of this is a feature? Or will an app or rom have to enable it?
Ps. The 2k stream via HDMI was really smooth as crystal.

This also interests me. Having 120 fps at 720p means good opportunity for slow motion videos - like on the iPhone 5s.
Is there a good video editor app in Play store that can make multi parts slow motions?

Yeah. It's 720p at 120 fps.
I with the Note 3 could do 250 FPS at 720p. Since the Note 2 does 250fps at some low res. I guess we'll need more hp.
Thanks for the input, I'm just confused to why this wasn't mentioned or any camera features from the outset tbh. I guess the pessimist in me reckons there won't be any slow motion by default.
I would love to be proved wrong however.

The same problem
Heres a question.
Can you toggle 720 video in 120fps to be on all the time by default?
Heres my reasoning for this.
Something is going on, its ALWAYS good to be able to go back later on and play it back in slow-motion.
an accident about to happen, someone about to step on a Bananna peel, etc..
if you need to access the video camera very quickly, it would stink to have to navigate to turn on 120fps
and miss that important shot.
How do you enable the 120 fps feature?

- Load up the camera
- Cog icon top left will expand the list of options
- Icon of a videocamera (3rd from right)
- Slow motion
- Another videocamera icon appears with something like 1/4, 1/8 in the corner
- Tap and choose what you want, i prefer 1/4 as it records at 120fps and plays back at 30. The 1/8 still records at 120 but plays back at 15 i think
Thanks

hello:
I have a question and i can´t find a answer.
is it possible to record slow motion videos and edit them in order to make some parts of the video in normal speed?
This is something possible in Htc One.

Open the camera app, click on the menu gear wheel, then click on the video camera icon and select "slow motion" from the recording mode list.
Thanks edwmsjr. But is it possible to edit to play few seconds in normal speed and few seconds in slow motion in the same clip?(just like they show in iPhone 5s ad) Or is there any app to do this?

I use Adobe Premier, but it's pretty expensive. A quick look through the App Store revealed a pretty well rated app here. I just don't know if you can add the slow-mo effect to just a part of a video, but it's worth a download to try.

If you are not a developers as i can see it seems a good answer.

hi,
is there a solution ?
I have not done it myself yet, but wouldn't just simply recording portion in high speed, another portion in normal speed etc. and join the files together work?
So the video camera app is pretty useless due to the horrible auto focus on speed, so I need a new one - any recommendations that works well with the G2. Has to be able to record [email protected]

Try ProCapture. I've used it for a long time, it's even better on the G2 and does [email protected] Just tested it and focus seems to be fairly good.
I have the paid version, but they have a free one to try before you buy.

Install lgCamera from the Play Store. It's the best replacement I've found for the video issue. I've been using the free for a bit, seems to work so I'll likely shell out the dough to buy it outright.
I've tried several apps (Lenovo Super Camera, Focal, a few others whose names I forget) and none of them worked as well for me as the lgCamera did. Good luck.
