[Q] LG G2 3 button Headphone compatible? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just Switched over from an iphone, which has its own 3 button "ear pods", had a nexus 4 before that. My issue with the nexus was that it wasn't 3 button compatible. And today i tried the iphones ear pods and another brand 3 button headset, only thing that worked was ability to pause/play and skip forward. is the lg g2 have the same issue as the nexus 4 where its only single button compatible?

Hi the g2 comes with a three button headset it also has a mic.

i guess its a t-mobile thing then...ours didnt come with headsets

I have the T-Mobile G2 no headphones either, I'm pretty sure it was only the international phones.

Yea can confirm the international version comes with the headsets

my question is though are the U.S versions 3 button compatible cause so far ive tried two 3 button headsets and the volume keys dont work

Get the QuadBeat 2. Just got mine in the mail yesterday and it has the three buttons. HSS-F530 ordered on Ebay.

Again im asking if the "U.S Version" is compatible with a 3 button headset so far ive tried 3 different headsets and they havent worked, only the pause/play option...I am NOT asking if the international version is!

just bought these and they work, headset has its in built in voice command JayBird BlueBuds X Sport Bluetooth Headphones http://www.amazon.com/JayBird-BlueB...dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

I have the t-mobile's version and the earphones that come with the Note 2 and Galaxy 4 work correctly. If you're having issues you could try to edit the generic.kl file. You can remap the earphones controls. Here's a link to a thread I came across http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34249536.

had s4 headsets lying around they worked thanks! ill wait until the quadbeats 2 reach states side and get a set

Maybe mess around with headset droid or other apps that allow customizing buttons. Might work.

Don't you have problems with controls and mic with those headphones when connected to LG G2? I get the feeling that not every time I am heard through mic in headset and also controls actually works very rarely...

Mine came with headphones that have three button remote. ...they are the LG headphones that came with the phone

So, which wired aftermarket ones work with G2? With or without an app..
I just want to pick up one because it sucks that pressing and holding volume button up/down does not skip tracks on the phone. I can't believe AT&T cheated us all out of the headphones.
Did you receive the quadBeat2's yet?
They are available both on Amazon and on ebay and on Amazon they are labeled as "LG Electronics HSS-F420B" which shows as QuadBeat, not 2.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=QuadBeat2
http://www.amazon.com/LG-Quadbeat-Headset-Optimus-Universal/dp/B00EL1PGFS/ref=pd_cp_cps_0
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-HSS-F530...16092080?pt=US_Headphones&hash=item33877790b0
I guess single button ones should also be OK since double tap can also add functionality as well as 3 tap, etc..
What about this:
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Headset-Microphone-Controls-Packaging/dp/B00DNK9WR6/ref=pd_cp_cps_1
This is Samsung headset and it is only $7.
As I search, they keep getting cheaper:

iPhone headset on gs3

My wife called me saying her iPhone headset doesn't work on her new gs3. I haven't had a chance to see her yet. Anyone know if this is true?
More than likely it is. Most iPhone headsets don't work. She doesn't like the included headphones with the gs3?

They are in ear noise cancelling and not safe to use while driving and uncomfortable fit for her ear. The stock iPhone ones are great or she just got used to them. She had the evo4g and they worked great so I know it's ot a droid thing

Aren't ANY headphones in your ear while driving not safe?
There are apparently two kind of wiring in the head phones. All headphone with mic connectors have four terminals, however the order they are wired up is different.
I know this for a fact because my captivate headsets did not work on my Sony X10.
In fact if you try to press and hold the accept call button on the headset while playing music you will realize that they quality of music suddenly improves.
Solution either get some different headset or get http://www.meelec.com/MEE_TRRS_Adapter_for_P_Version_Headphones_p/adptr-trrs-35.htm
The above product worked well from captivate => X10. I probably would in your case too

urbeats + galaxy S4?

Is it possible to get the Dre Urbeats working with the S4? I wasn't able to get them working with my HTC One, but I figured it might work on the S4 since they work fine on my S3. (Volume, etc all works) I haven't been able to get them to work with anything on the S4 yet, any ideas? Thanks.

I also have a pair of urbeats and the volume buttons do not work with my S4. I have tested them on my iPhone, iPod and other mp3 players and they work fine. The middle button lets you play/pause/skip track and use S - Voice, but the volume buttons dont work. I've pushed them in as far as I can and it still doesn't work. Any one got a fix?

Compatable headphones

The original samsung headphones have no issues whatsoever. Its just my expensive ones like klipsch and monster that seem to pop and crack at high volune when they work flawlessly on other devices... does anyone know which headphones with the 3 buttons are compatable with the gs4. So far volume controls refuse to work on monster dna earbuds and klipsch s4i headphones. Is there a certain ohm or impedance the gs4 uses. Never had this problem with my atrix... a compatable list of 3 button headphones would be greatly appreciated.

Count me in too. My cheap $10 headphones which work flawlessly on every other device crackle and pop on my S4. When I use my auxiliary cable in my car, I do not experience this. I'm going to try the Samsung headphones.
Appreciated. Ill post a compatable list after I find the correct impedance number. Also what about the volume up and down anyone know? I the only ones I know that work are the beats ear buds with the remote. They work flawlessly. Unfortunately I do not own a pair....

any units with impedance of under 15ohm will have issues; look up the specs on your buds or cans.

Dre Beats control talk not working?

Ok so I've got a pair of Dre Beats Solo headphones with the monster control talk (hands free kit) cable.
Hands free mic and play/pause switch work fine with HTC phones, but on my Nexus 4 I get no response. I can't answer calls through the cable buttons either. If I do manually answer a phone call with them connected, I can hear the call through the headphones but I cannot reply through the mic in the cable, nor the mic in the phone so I have to disconnect. Anyone had this issue or knows how to resolve it?
Maybe my phones headphone socket/hands free mic connection is faulty? I doubt this because I tried them through my sisters Nexus 5 and had the same outcome.
Please let me know guys. Cheers.

Take them in to where you got them maybe they could help? On my Beats Tour headphones w/ Monster switch thing play and pause work. I don't use calling often though so I can't test that..
The Nexus 4 lacks the hardware for your hands free control. HTC and Apple products have the hardware, mostly because they have somewhat of a partnership with beats (as does HP).
I Sent from my M-BBQ'd Anarchist N⁴
Hmmm yeah I guess it is the hardware. How lame! So if I want to use a wired hands free kit I'll have to get the official nexus one, or even break the bank and get a Bluetooth one? I think I'll carry on living with the minor inconvenience lol, unless anyone could point me to an awesome product that would solve my issue?
Thanks for your replies guys.

Q anyone carrying a good 3 button headset alternative to stock?

If so do all buttons work on g2. Would you recommend it or a different headset?
my stock ones gotten wet and sound tincanny, otherwise I would not be looking for a replacement.
Speaking of which, anyone has compared with stock ones?

I have the klipsch s4a ii. There is only one button on the headphones... One click play/pause. Two: skip. Three: back.
I would recommend them highly. I've used the s4 ii, s4a, and the s4a ii, and they are all good.
I really don't think you can go wrong with any similar headsets in the same price range. There is a huge selection of very good headsets on the market.

I still use the UR beats that came with my HTC One X a while back.
The remote works like this:
- fwd/bwd buttons >>> volume up/down
- Center button in combination with Head Set button controller > start/stop, next/previous title
