Sorry if I'm just being stupid, but I'm really confused about the Note 3 model numbers. I've seen several places that seem to refer to the "N9000" as the Snapdragon Quad Core phone and the "N9005" as the Xynos Octa Core version. I've even seen articles that refer to the "N9005" as the 4G/LTE version. But my Verizon Note 3 with a Snapdragon Quad-Core processor is an "SM-N900V". So, my question is...WTH?
I want to root my phone and remove some bloatware, but I want to be sure which file to use and this whole model number thing has me so confused. I'm not worried about warranty...I've got total equipment coverage and can just run it over and with my truck and get a new one if I need to. Help a brotha out and shed some light on this for me, please.
Below are a few examples that confuse me:
An article on AndroidPit says:
"This procedure is only for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N900 and Galaxy Note 3 N9005 (4G), please choose the correct file listed below."
This Youtube model comparison
And the following list from Chainfire's Auto-Root Thread:

I'll make it easy for you. Root is not available for the vzw model yet. No current method for other carriers works.

So I guess I'll wait until I see "N900V for Verizon". That article on AndroidPit almost had me thinking that the "N900" covered every model that started with that regardless of the last letter.
Thanks!

sorry couldn't find info on this and i am in a hurry because i am planning to buy one today.
what are these codes? n9005 i guess the snapdragon one but what about n900 n900s or other models where i read this info from phone and do we need an exact match to use roms or cwm or etc. etc.
Hello
I will buy the note 3 today hopefully
So im undecided to get between the 2 versions (n900 vs n9005)
both are available in my country with an additional 80$ for n9005
the question is which is better overall
1 Performance ?
2 Stability?
3 Developement and support?
4 Sound ?
btw i dont need 4g
THank you all :good:
..
Same question here, is it worth the extra 100$ to buy the n9005? Will the difference in performance and battery life justify the extra money?
Personally I wouldn't use the 4k recording and we don't have 4G here just as yet.
Same Scenario Here, paid the extra money and will never buy anything exynos again,
The N9005 has more love when it comes to developement.
There has been some reports of the exynos n900 overheating but as I don't own one I'm not inclined to say this is so.
Sorry to resurrect an oldish thread, but just bought a used Note 3 which was advertised as an N9005 however settings>About Phone tells me it's an SM-N900, baseband version N900TUVUCNB4(which research tells me is a T-Mobile N900), the label on phone in the battery compartment identifies it as an SM-N900.
We have challenged the seller saying it's not an N9005 but he is insisting that the N900 is only a series name and that I have the N9005. Is this correct? It doesnt sound right to me - I have a Note 2 LTE which identifies itself as an N7105, versus the3G model which identifies itself as an N7100.
Can anybody confirm what I should see under model number?
Thanks in advance
It's very easy. If in Settings - "About device" - "Model number" you have SM-N900, it's the 3G Exynos version of the Note 3. If it says N9005 is the 4G Snapdragon version of the Note 3. You can't flash a SM-N9005 firmware on a SM-N900 and you can't flash a SM-N900 firmware on a SM-N9005.
The seller just wants to make you keep the phone.

Hey I'm new to this site so sorry if this is the wrong place to post or if it had been answered before!
What does it mean when people refer to the S4 as the Samsung I9500? I have the US Cellular SCH-R970 and I would like to root it and install a more stock android like rom on it and I've been trying to do some research but I keep getting hung up because I don't see my model listed very much. I do how ever see everyone throwing out Samsung I9500 though. Can someone explain this and possibly point me in the right direction?
i9500 is the international exynos version i think.
i9505 is the international snapdragon 600 version.
i9506 is the international snapdragon 800 version.
there are also other models. you can find a lot more info on gsmarena.com

Thanks for getting back to me. That makes sense. So do you know if the US Cellular version of the S4 is limited in roms I can put on it? Like I said, I haven't really seen much on my version.
Well it depends very much on the number of devices sold.
depending on what you want - if you like a specific custom rom - you should search for it on the forums or strait through google. It is very easy to search for something like: SCH-R970 cyanogenmod 11 xda -> resulting in some useful threads.
good luck! and good flashing!
Any chances? :|

It depends on your Note 3 model.
Qualcomm variants - yes for N9005, N900T, N900P, N900W8, N900R4 and N900V (only the developer version of N900V is supported).
Nightlies available here:
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=hlte
Exynos variants - not yet
There are some ongoing threads about CM11 in this forum. Please search for them.

I have tried CM11 for the N9005 and there is a dialler problem. The screen goes black when dialling. I can't find the solution to this or any mention of it. Am I alone?
Yeah it happened to me to its because of the proximity sensor so all I did was downloaded the disable proximity sensor mod on xposed and now you just have to lock it all the time when calling but it works.

Hi people,
I am thinking to flash a custom rom on my n910c. So still doing my research which rom fits me best.
But I came across some rom specific listing the devices as NOTE 4 INTL, AT&T, T MOBILE etc.
Well, my question is, can i flash note 4 intl roms on my n910c? What is the name for n910c so i can find roms easier? There aren't a lot as far as i found..
Dont recommend me any rom, as I know that sort of break the rule here. I just want to know the code name/name for n910c so i wont potentially hard/soft brick my n910c.

n910c is just a note 4 with exynos cpu, on n910c you can flash only n910c
n910f is a note 4 with qualcomm snapdragon
they are both the NOTE 4 INTL
n910a is at&t
n910v is verizon
n910p is sprint
n910t /n910t3 is Telekom
i think there are a couple more variants of note 4, but you can flash roms only for your device wich is N910C
