Copying files from computer to Note 3 error - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My wife bought the Note 3 in the hopes to be able to copy her Koreanovelas in her device. But every time we copy the files, it's giving us an error that says, "The device has either stopped responding..." before the file transfer is done. We have the latest driver from Kies.
Please help.

[Q] Fascinate driver help!!! Can't install

i need help, i have tried everywhere and can't find anything and any help would be greatly appreciated
i'm on the road to root my samsung galaxy fascinate and have ran into a laundry list of problems. i have rooted many android phones coming from eclair, froyo, and gingerbread, but seem to be stuck at the slightest of problems when it comes to the fascinate.
i can not install the drivers to the fascinate. i have searched through the web for all the drivers and have tried every possible galaxy driver. the driver simply won't install on my windows 7 prof 64bit machine. i have never ran into this problem before with any other phone. every time i try to install the driver it gets to the very end of the install then pops up with the message "windows was unable to install the driver"
It also gave me the option to view the failed windows installation log, which after many successful steps, at the end the log shows this error:
Action ended 1:26:53: ShowMsiLog. Return value 0.
=== Logging stopped: 12/16/2011 1:26:53 ===
MSI (c) (0C:08) [01:26:53:750]: Product: SAMSUNG USB Driver for Mobile Phones -- Installation operation failed.
MSI (c) (0C:08) [01:26:53:750]: Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: SAMSUNG USB Driver for Mobile Phones. Product Version: 1.3.550.0. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: SAMSUNG Electronics CO., LTD.. Installation success or error status: 1603.
i have also attached the entire log
the first thing i did was plug in the phone, which windows sensed this and automatically installed a driver, not sure which. after this i unplugged the phone and then checked "usb debugging" for rooting purposes and plugged the phone back into the computer which windows then installed another driver automatically, then following the steps from xda to root the phone, i downloaded the given drivers which is where the problem first occurred and the drivers were unable to download.
I'm simply trying to get root access to the phone and can't do anything with the phone with crappy drivers...i can't even mount usb sd card now to transfer data anymore. the drivers have completely been shot. i desperately need help. please
also what is the absolute easiest way to root the fascinate? is it with one click root or with Odin? Because the fascinate just updated itself from 2.2.2 EH05 to 2.3.5 EH03 and i'm not sure which program supports rooting which version of android. also all other android devices simply give root access to the stock rom, which is great cause i get to keep all my apps, messages, contacts...etc, then simply titanium backup everything and transfer it over to the new rom. is it different with the fascinate? will rooting the device simply flash a completely new rooted rom? therefore loosing everything? if anybody has any answers to any of these questions, please be my hero. thanks
sorry didn't see what section this was in, also have posted this in the Q & A section, my apologies
This is elementary, but did you unzip the drivers file after you downloaded it? The reason I ask is I had same problem for about 10 mins before I realized my brainfart.
As for root, just flash a rooted rom, either stock or custom. Tutorials and guides are all over this site just dig a little.
Have u try downloading the driver directly from samsung.com ? No way to mess up that way.
Backup everything if u dont want to loose it. Sms backup from Market let u save ur text to your gmail account. Save your contacts to the SD card, by exporting it as vcard. Then titanium like u already know.
Once u flash new rom u will loose everything. Flash new custom rom will berooted already.

Hello,
I recenlty started having this issue. Not with any error message but copying would just skip TWRP backup files especially the larger ones >500Mb.
I found this threat here have a look.

For me a pull command from adb while the phone was in recovery mode did the trick. Let us know

[Q] A device attached to the system is not functioning Note 8.0

hi,
I've connected my device to my laptop via USB cable that was supplied. so I've been using my device a while and copied music on and off it etc.
The past few days when I try to copy music or pictures to and from my device i get a error messages. I get the message a device attached to system is not functioning.
when i open the device folder under explorer i can only see folders and when i open the folders it says 0 items in the folder. but if I go in on my device there are files in the selected folder.
now I've searched the web from left to right and only get solutions for the note II mobile device that has a USB mass storage function, which the galaxy note 8.0 does not have.
I've downloaded Kies and USB drivers and it still did not resolve my issue.
i have a HP Probook 4540s running windows 8. I'm not very good with these kind of stuff at all.
any help would be greatly appreciated
For me that happens when there a problem with driver or kies .. I'd recommend reinstalling

File transfer on Linux

I am having trouble with file transfers on Linux (openSUSE 42.3). The phone is the Verizon version of HTC 10.
(To score some sympathy points, I just ordered and received this phone from ebay. It unfortunately was already "upgraded" to version 2.41.605.36, so until someone makes a hack available I am stuck with Verizon software.)
Initially when I connected the phone to the computer, the device notifier came up with "Camera" only. In this mode files cannot be uploaded to the phone.
I then edited the "libmtp.rules" file to include the vendor id and product id of the phone. After doing this the device was recognized as "Android phone". There were two options to open a file explorer---one which opened it again as "Camera" and a second which should be a file explorer in "mtp" mode, however clicking on this icon led to a error message:
HTML:
The file or folder udi=/org/kde/solid/udev/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.0/usb1/1-1/1-1.1/ does not exist
.
I realize this is more of a linux-specific question, and I haven't yet tried posting it on a linux forum, but I thought I would try here first to see if anyone else had this sort of trouble with this phone on this operating system.

Yes!! camera:/USB PTP Class Camera is what you initially see when it is plugged into the USB port. (openSuSE 42.3). You click on that and you get to folders: store_528b0001 and store_00010001 along with two text files: about.txt and summary.txt. The store_528b0001 is the external SD card and store_00010001 is the internal storage.
Now then, I have had trouble finding all my photos EVEN THOUGH they are supposed to be in DCIM/100MEDIA in the internal memory. I can see the pics on the phone but not from my PC when connected. At least not all of them. Just took some 'recent' pics and I can see them from my PC. ??
As for the write... you can not copy a file from the PC to the camera with SuSE Linux -but- you can with Windows. I use VMware and have Windows 10 installed. You can use this Windows to copy a file from the PC to the Android Phone. At least I have.

Sorry to neglect this thread that I started, but actually the problem turned out to be the mtp version that came with Leap 42.3. Updating this (libmtp9) from version 1.1.13 to 1.1.14 fixed the problem. I can now access internal storage as "read/write".

Help needed with TWRP file manager

Hello everybody,
since i am new here i hope this post is in the correct category...
I have an old Galaxy S5 with custom rom, TWRP and Magisk Root.
Since a few months the phones screen starts flickering if the brightness goes below the value 20. So my idea was to set the minimum value to 25...
I found a tutorial on how to set the brightness minimum value and followed it. I edited the framework-res.apk and after that i copied the new one to system/framework. That was a mistake. The phone instantly rebooted and is now stuck on the Samsung screen. Because I have problems to connect the phone to a computer (since the last windows 10 update the phone doesnt get recognized because of the driver (i tried everything to install it but no solution in sight)) i tried to move the new framework-res.apk to a sd card and then copy it via TWRP file manager over to system/framework. Sadly everytime i get an error 1.
cp "external_sd/framework-res.apk" "/system/framework" process ended with Error: 1
I am happy about every hint on how to get this phone running
Thank you very much.

No issue here to connect my Samsung S5 (SM-G901F) to the PC (Win10 Pro 64-bit) and in turn to use Odin. Did you try to install the latest Samsung Android USB Composite Device Driver (e.g. from here)? Alternatively, you can install Samsung Switch on your PC that automatically also installs the driver. Afterwards, simply uninstall Switch; the driver remain installed. If you keep Switch installed ensure it's not running when you use Odin.
And regarding TWRP: Did you mount /system prior to the attempt to move the file?

After the last Win Update it worked. Windows found the driver instantly. I think it was a temporary problem.
I connected the smartphone via ADB and pushed the file to system. Since the space of system was full i deleted a font and pushed the framework res again. Now its up and running. Thank you.
