there was an app posted here on xda that let you use mass storage mode, i have no idea if it works on the note 3 or if the dev even supports it anymore but you can try searching..... personally i prefer MTP

USB Mass storage was removed from Android somewhere between 4.0 and 4.1.
Only options are MTP, Photo, Kies and USB3.0 (only on a 3.0 port, and this is MTP.)

I am having trouble connecting the tab to my PC in USB Storage mode, I click on mount but the storage is still not showing on my PC. I have already enabled USb debugging mode.
I also happen to use an HTC desire which I happen to connect in USb everyday so I think i fairly know what am doing.
Any suggestion please
Try installing the software for the Gtab from samsungs internet site...
I had the same problem, but solved it with the samsung kies software package...

For mass storage mode, turn off USB debugging.

Shouldn't be required - I have USB debugging on almost permanently and have no trouble connecting via mass storage.

Dave
I too, have had issues when attempting to use the sd card as mass storage hooked up to my PC. I fixed it by turning off USB debugging, when I wanted to copy files to the Tab, then turning it back on after I was done copying files.
Hi,
I installed the voodoo lag fix, but now my phone is in read only mode. I cannot delete or put files on it, using my laptop. My laptop now recognizes my Galaxy S as a cd drive instead of a usb memory drive
I disabled the lagfix, but problem still appears
please help
Try Samsung Kies mode instead of usb mass storage, this helped me
Yep get kies to recognize the phone in usb kies mode then try usb data mode again

I have my Samsung epic installed to my computer.
-SAMSUNG Android Composite ADB Interface: installed with Samsung drivers.
-SAMSUNG Android USB Composite Device: Installed with Samsung drivers.
-Android UMS DISK USB Device: installed with two Microsoft drivers.
No matter if usb debugging is on or off, when i click to mount/transfer sdcard files nothing happens. When usb debugging is off it says autoplay, but no folder opens after that. Should their be a google or android driver signed with the ums disk usb device.
Im running 32 bit windows xp. Please help me, i cannot transfer any files, and ive been wanting to learn how to root but i cant do anything If i cant even mount my sd card properly
I have Xp too and idk when but i used to have 0 problems using USB Mass Storage Mode and all of a sudden, idk , what i did but it doesn't work anymore. I know it's my PC /setup because I take my phone over to my friends Vista PC and it goes into USB Mass Storage Mode just fine. Everything is already installed on their PC cause they have an Epic as well. A tmp solution that has become a permanent one for me is to download the Dropbox app and create an account and well there you go. Mass storage mode in the "cloud" for ya.

I had the same problem with my desktop. Only connects with USB ports from back of computer. Try some other ports maybe.
I had the same problem for about 2 months, best solution is to buy a different cord, I use the Evo's and it works fine
Assuming you aren't using the ghetto cheap cable that came with the epic, i would use another port. I had the same problem with one of my pc's.
i just got my epic fri and am experiencing this problem. i also went and bought a new usb cable and nothing i seem to do works.
it also interferes with my usb wireless adapter. when i plug it in my internet just comes to a halt and then comes right back to life as soon as i unplug it...

Hello.
I have Samsung Galaxy Note 3, SM-N9005 Snapdragon version.
I bought USB OTG cable from dx.com, with microUSB 3.0 for S5/Note 3.
When I connect mouse or keyboard, it works.
But when I connect USB flash drive, or external HDD it mounts, but after 3-5 seconds it un-mount.
Is there any way, fix or some xposed module to have it working?
I have rooted my phone and I am running on custom ROM (CRASH ROM v16), based on stock XXUGNG1 PDA, Ultimate Kernel v55.
Thank you for your help.
It won't mount NTFS drives. Try a usb drive on fat32. It will work.

Well, I found something on google saying that you need an app called SG USB Mass Storage and root.
