Anyone else have an ac router? My gs4 gets a 400+mbps connection and is n only I believe. But the n3 carries a much slower connection. 200 something mbps

S4 also has AC. My Note 3 is almost always connected at 433, but performance (page load time) is still a bit lackluster even for Tapatalk or simple Google searches. I'm on Sprint, but trying to get more opinions on this. I hope it's simply a driver issue that can be updated.

Same, and it's sluggish on 2.4 and 5. I tried resetting resetting etc, and it's not crazy slow, but compared to my note 2 it's much slower to load anything.

Same, my S4 is fine and I should say the Note 3 browsing experience is less smooth rather than sluggish. Regardless, I'm still disliking it as it makes the overall experience feel slower than my Note 2.
Edit - I just did a manual firmware upgrade to 3.0.0.4.374.979, which mentions nothing about performance. It feels a little snappier, but it's too soon to tell. Will post back after more use.

It's still inconsistent imo. I have three AC clients; S4, Note 3, and WD AC bridge to our Samsung smart tv via Ethernet, but that's not on very often.
Edit - Can one of you download Signal check? When I turn data off, it stays on regardless if it's LTE or 3G and I feel like this may be the culprit.

That's weird, I was just thinking about posting this issue. I also have a ac66u and on my HTC one the ac wireless worked great. It's barely working on my Note 3. I'm upgraded to the latest fw and everything.
As long as you're on your 5ghz ssid and have default settings (80 mHz) you'll be connected through AC wireless.

I just bought the Asus AC68U, I'll post if it has the same issues once I get it configured.
I'll check when I get home. With signal checker do you guys have the auto switching enabled on the phone? It wouldn't allow me to connect to Wifi with what it deemed "slow" Wifi in an area where I got no reception. LOL

Change channel to 36 or 44 (Samsung bug that goes back to the S4), don't use spaces or underscores in the SSID name, and disable explicit forcebeaming under the professional tab. It's only been 24 hours, but I haven't experienced any problems since.

Do you keep your wifi on constantly? That's what drains my battery every other day.
setup your wifi to go to sleep when not in use, unlock and root it, install a custom rom of your choice and flash a good kernel so you can do more tweaking and downclock/undervolt it.

I've actually found the battery life outstanding with standard ROM. My stats as of about an hour ago is 3 days with WiFi on constantly and running audible app the whole time, battery was down to 58%. When I compare this to my hox which needs twice daily charge just on idle.
Leave the machine on standby for a couple of days and see if there is a problem with the battery.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I'm currently at 2 days on this charge and still at 60% with 4 hours screen on time. Usually I get about a day and a half per charge by turning off WiFi when I'm not connected and having it turn off WiFi in sleep mode. I also don't keep auto brightness on, I adjust it myself. I find with auto my battery dies faster.

Thanks for your suggestions guys. I don't feel like crackfkashing yet lol. I already flash the hell out of my nexus s. Will try tomorrow and see how it turns out. Today I got 5 and half hours of screen time. Played a bunch of games though.

Agreed; i'm on aokp build 1 with no apparent bugs & awesome battery life. Seems much smoother than stock imo. I also had a couple of random reboots on stock, however have had none on build 1. All its missing is a bunch of rom control options that will no doubt come with future builds.

Hmm looks blurry if looking from mobile app. Works fine on computer browser. Anyways, the screenshot shows battery at like 4 days and 5 hrs. 5 and half hours of screen on time with 7 percent battery left(which will last a good bit still). So either something is wrong with your n7 or maybe custom roms and kernals make that much of a difference.

It may be an app keeping it awake to sync or something. If it's a repeated issue I always look at what was installed that is similar or any changes I've made that are common between both devices

Look at the battery info screens. (Settings > Battery) That should give you some idea what's using so much battery. For most of us, the screen seems to be the main thing. For you, you'll probably see something else.

Ok I'm editing my post now that I understand the problem more. Yesterday I was using slacker and voxer and both services suddenly stopped working. I uninstalled, and reinstalled them and couldn't log in. I initially thought it was facebook authorization that was failing but then I realized I couldn't even get on their sites in chrome. After meddling with the 2 apps for hours I decided hey might as well get on wifi and waddayaknow? Both services worked fine. That got me curious so I switched to the default 3G apn thats built into the nexus 4, and again, both services worked fine.
After posting on Voxer, At&ts, and slackers facebook pages, and getting nowhere, I remembered the community support forums on AT&T. And several other people are reporting that issue with not only these 2 sites, but ebay too. So I tried ebay out and yep same issue. So now I'm thinking this is an issue spanning many sites and services. So I'm curious, who else is having the issue?
And the problem gets even weirder.... My nexus 7 connects to both services just fine. I didn't even initially have voxer installed. And on my 4, I can't even bring up the websites in Chrome. It as if my phone is blocking both services.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
I'll get it every so often with haxsync, but it does let me sign in again and it's fine for a few more days.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Yeah my issue is really really weird. I can't even get on their sites. I thought maybe slacker and voxer were down but I can both bring up the Web pages and use the apps just fine on my 7...ahhhhhhhh I'm going nuts!
I just spent my whole lunch trying to figure it out. I uninstalled voxer, facebook, and slacker and reinstalled and rebooted like 3 times with no dice. Dammit I need these services!
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
You have got to be kidding me! At&t is blocking them! What the hell? As soon as I connected to wifi, everything worked. Wth I'm a slacker premium subscriber and pay through my at&t account
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Another update, narrowed it down to my apn which is the hspa plus apn posted here, and it's weird because I've been using that apn since I got the phone, and weirder because every other app that requires data works fine, it's just those 2 apps

It not facebook as I have found out. It the AT&T 4G apn. Doesn't make sense, its like those 2 services are blocked. I can't even go to their websites on chrome when I'm using that apn. However if I switch to wifi or the built in slow apn, everything works fine.
Tried my wife's nexus, same issue. What gives? I'm about to break contract and go to t-mobile over this crap.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
I'm telling you it's related to the FB API changes, the carrier will resolve it give it time
1 day later, still same issue. Fwiw from posting on at&ts, voxer, and slackers Web page seems I'm not alone.
So messed up... And probably won't ever be resolved either because it's such a conditional little issue most people won't notice.... Sigh

I did send like 3 pics to my sister's phone who has a Galaxy s6 and was fine but like mentioned above it doesn't happen all the time......its only done this with my note 7 none of my other phones did this.....so I'm thinking (and wont admit this to the wife...lol) its possible a note 7 problem.

I think it is too. The iPhone proves my theory. Do you have advanced messaging enabled?

I think it's only for the advanced series of Galaxy 7+ and maybe devices with nougat. Don't know if it works with iMessage.
I was wondering if I disable this if it will still happen.

I should download an aftermarket messaging app and see if the distorted pics happen.....there was one i liked handcent I believe it was....think I will.
I used to use that messaging app all the time cause it had so much customisation to it....and it had emoji before the stock Galaxy one did.

I remember seeing others "typing" with my note 5. I know it's not happening with my 7
If the people who are seeing the broken pictures are using an iPhone or sending the picture from an iPhone it is a known imessage bug. It has to due with apples icloud and how it processes the pictures.
If it's happening from your note 7 it could be a messaging app problem, or a connection problem. My suggestion is to use Hangouts as your default messaging app and see if the fixes it.
.... Or try to get the whole world to switch to Allo.
Happened on my Note5 when getting pics from my wife's S7. Happened again today on my Note7.

Do you have a note 7? Or just your wife?
