32 GB version 100 € premium? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I live in Germany and I've been able to find the 32 gb version just on Amazon, but it costs 100 € more , how is it in other parts of the world? does it really cost 100 € or 100 $ more?

I only get the 32GB version where i'm at. We have it at under 450€. 500+€ is silly high here.
This store does international shipping if you're interested. No warranty though, and you'll have to "discuss" the import tax situation with the seller.... The usual, not affiliated and all that. Only a previous local in person customer and thought that the owner was a nice enough guy.

And back on topic, no it doesn't cost 100 to add 16GB of storage, but since the user can't add their own, why not charge 100? I'd certainly try...

It costs 725 dollars = 535 euros + 14% taxes (73 euros) + shipment+ no warranty... is way worse for me , I'd be better buying it here :crying:

Woah there.. Those are singapore dollars. Not USD. 450 euros should be about right.
As for the 14% you should try to contact the seller. He might be able to help.

So what is the lowes price so far?

There were a number of topics on this but they all have been pushed far down.
So what is the lowest price at the moment? And from whom?
Here in the Netherlands, you can get one for €470 total, by using a 0-minute 12months subscription from KPN. That's a one-time €320 purchase and 12 months of €12.50.
Not bad eh?
But you probably don't live here anyway...

Just been told by an HTC dealer in London they are about to increase to £549 sim free due to the dollar. I paid £529 last week.

Nop... I'm looking for sim free and those that can delivered to the US.
Paid 505 pounds including shipping for mine. Getting it tomorrow
Paid £450 for mine.. then again I managed to get it at cost price due to 'connections' (no not dodgy)
But the cheapest OFFICIAL place is via play.com if you use a 5% off code = £475 delivered
£120 + 12 months £30 contract, minus £40 quidco = £440
Needed a new contract anyway, so pretty good timing.
I'm in the UK and got it sim free for £506 (about 605 euros) incl del from www.insight.com/uk
Got mine from X1838 on Ebay and it came to $650 shipped to the USA when I used the live.com cashback. And it arrived really fast, ordered on thursday, received monday morning.
If you wait a little bit I bet using the same kind of deal i'm sureyou can get it for $600 shipped. Not too shabby, eh?
I got it for $470 after 25% live.com cashback and 10% paypal coupon.
There is a seller on ebay who is putting them up for 722.45, which seems to be the cheapest of all vendors.
Only £474.99 Delivered (Sim Free)
http://www.laughingdeals.com/all-de...cked-mobile-phone-pound-549.99-delivered.html
Play.com have changed the price of this handset a few times - it was £549, then £499, then went back up to £519 before coming down again.
£474.99 is the price you pay after the RAC discount voucher.
Got it for €545 sim-free (italian rom) on nanolandia.net
That would be £455 or $686.

well that was easy, did your cashback showed up in your MS account right away or after some time?
I got my HD for 475 pounds including tax and delivery. If that is what we are talking about.
I would coinsider selling mine at cist if anybody here wants one.

Please provide more information, like
does it include the keyboard dock?
what is the memory size? 16g or 32g?
it's the 16 gb version without keyboard.
In a shop? Still boxed and untouched? A steal IMO!
unfortunatly the 16gb version are the ones being exposed (so not totally untouched) and hardly available, tomorrow i'll try to see the last shop because today is closed.
In the meantime i found the 32gb discounted to 399 euro and this is unboxed and untouched....is it a good deal the 32 gb?

Not a good buy at all, your best deal is with Amazon which is cheaper and with 32g storage capacity. Here's their prices:
Amazon prices tablet only (forex 1 euro = 1.32 dollars)
Brand new 32g 340 euro
.................16g 292 euro
Used like new 32g 258 euro you save 42 euro
.....................16g 218 euro you save 82 euro
Your best buy is the 32g used like new for 258 euros if you can order it from Amazon. The Transformer I bought was a 32g for 240 euros and it works perfectly upgrading to ICS. Good luck!

It costs 54 euros more than the current prices at Amazon, but since your max limt is 400 then it should be ok. Much, much better if you can order from Amazon though because you can return easily if something is not working or broken.
thanks tedr44, i checked amazon but unfortunatly the only one who ships to Italy it will cost 399 dolars so 305 euro without shipping (transformer 32gb used) and i'm keen to buy it. Is it safe to make such purchase in case the tablet is damaged during the shipment?sorry for my boobness but it's first time purchasing from amazon.COM.
EDIT: the price of the 32gb used with shipment is 365 euro and without taxes....so not convenient.
Get the one that is in the shop near you, if anything would be wrong with it after all you can return there. It´ll save you a headache

Amazon has a very good record when it comes to customer service, if you have their phone number you may want to call and inquire about their policy on returning damaged shipments. But in my experience, Amazon will always try to correct any problem you may have because they want you to come back to them for future business. Why don't you try so you have the experience to order online for the first time with Amazon?
Amazon's customer service is amazing. They also have the most lenient return policy I have ever seen.
If there is even a slight problem with your purchase, they will take care of it.
i know that amazon is a good service, i purchased lots of things from amazom.IT, but was concerned about buying used goods. however i realized that buying from USA is not a good deal after the shipment cost and taxes (in italy you have to pay 21% of the price), in fact the 32 gb used will be over 400 euro.
so i'll try the last shop which opens in 2 hours, otherwise i'll wait for new discounts or buy it for the normal price 338 euro....
quite indecisive because i don't know if it's better to wait later or not to buy a good tablet for less than 400, i've read about google tablet but i prefer a 10 inch one.
thanks you guy for your advice
300 bucks is a good deal if you can't come up with the extra 200 for the prime.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717
unfortunatly all the transformer 16gb were sold. now i'm indecided whether buying it at 340 euro or wait..what do you think is better?
I would wait, the price of the transformers is dropping fast. I was able to pick up a 16GB model over here in the states with KB dock for $250. This was probably an especially good deal, but I can't see the price going anywhere but down.
Does Europe have a Craigslist or similar online classified listings? That is where I would look.
for italy there is ebay, where i found the transformer 16 gb for 250 euro, hoping no one raise the price higher in the next 24 hour....if the price will be under 280 maybe i'll buy it even though is used.
sorry for the double post but wanted to bump the post for attention.....i founded an acer iconia tab a 500 for 299 euro with 32gb, what do you think?

I'd really recommend purchasing through a vendor who will handle issues for you, or offers their own warranty if you are going with ASUS.
My current RMA has resulted in:
Receiving another customers tablet.
Receiving back my tablet, without the charger they asked me to send in, and with the same issue it was sent in for.
Receiving a charger without the adapter to plug it into the socket.
This is still ongoing, and when you call support, they just say, we'll escalate, and someone will call you in 2 days if you ask to speak to a manager, or have an issue.
The device was great while it worked, but I'd personally look for a vendor who is good with returns and/or offers a 3rd party warranty.
i'm sorry for the problem your facing michiganenginerd and i heard the same thing for the transformer prime (was going to buy it a month ago). I'm quite settled to buy the used iconia a500 (32gb) for 299 (with valid warranty) because is perfect fo my purpose (reading and surfing thenet).
IS it ok?

[Q] UK price?

I have a total of £260 to spend. According to the wiki page the 16gb version is $400 = approx. £250. But I'm not sure if this applies to the UK?
I"m afraid its listed on the Google Play store as £319 for the 16gb one in the UK

Yeah out of luck i'm afraid, here's the link to the Google Play sales page:
https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_10_16gb
But you are correct, the price "should" have been closer to £250 as the current conversion rate of $399 is £248. So its £70 over priced
The 32gb Nexus 10 "should" be around £311 in the UK, but again its had its price bumped up and its showing as £389, which is £78 over the US price.
Usual rip off, for no apparent reason.
sure sucks.... thanks though

Yeah but surely that $400 is before sales tax right? The UK price is inclusive of VAT, which is what 20%?
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
I'd forgotten about sales tax in the US, but that varies from state to state from 0% (very few places) to 11.5%, with most about 5-7%, so its still quite a bit cheaper in the US.
Don't forget there's 2% import duty THEN 20% vat. So it's about right.
$399 = £248 * 1.02 * 1.2 = £303
Add a little for shipping and it's pretty close to the £319 we're going to pay.
What's a VAT? Sorry, I'm only a teenager.
(saved up a lot of birthday/earned money for about 2 years )
You could have Googled VAT quicker than writing that reply!
Wiki phrases things so unclearly

Explain this to me........

Allright now the canadian dollar is worth more than the american dollar so why is the nexus 4 more expensive. Shouldnt it be cheaper? Now its 359 for the 16gb version right and fricking taxes and shipping make it 416$! so pissed.

Don't care? Check.
Ask your government, it probably costs extra since it comes from the US.
Either that or Google doesn't like you guys.
Because Cell-phone market is more stable than Stock Market.
Also it doesn't matter how much the cell-phone cost is in one country and compared to other. There may be extra charges like custom duty, tax, and VAT. Thus the price may increase
Currency isn't the only factor involved in pricing.
with google its not so bad but many other companies price hike in different regions; best example i can give is here in australia photoshop is twice the price that it is in the US but our dollar is worth more than the american dollar ......how that makes sense i dont know.
with Google play however its probably added import costs and taxes added to the price $416 is about the same as what we pay in Australia after shipping + tax and i believe US price is like $385-$395 inc tax + shipping so the price difference is pretty close so i don't think its a case of Google screwing regions over.
Probably because it ships from the US into Canada, then there's also tariffs and whatnot. RIM is based in Canada so methinks they really do have an Apple and Android tax.
And in Europe it costs 349 Euro, they just exchanged the currency symbol and added 10 CAD Dollar more.
So basically the unit costs 362 USD in Canada which is still cheaper then Europe with 459 USD (349 Euro)

This is the case with every item sold in Canada. No idea why you think google would price it different. And are you really complaining about the price of the phone being 415 after taxes, find me another phone with the same specs that less than $600 after tax.

It's because in the LONG term the US dollar is worth more.

Im sorry that im complaining about that much money, i dont have much. If you do please give me some.....douchebag.
The price it is set, is determined by not only currency costs, but also factors such as transportation costs, tariffs (although there is no apple or android tax), in some cases the necessity to have French on it as well. There are many reasons, and simply put we are talk about less than 10$. As it relates to this case, I doubt there is an international tax/tariff, Google has a Toronto office where these phones are from, they are shipped from Kentucky, and no duties are applied, which suggests they are covered under NAFTA.

Then perhaps you should find a different phone with cheaper price instead of complaining here. No one will help you with that attitude.
If i calculated correctly for my province(~15% federal tax+Qc provincial tax) i pay 412 before shipping... besides aren't you used to it yet? We keep getting screwed over on pricing for so many things in Canada its life (although I'm sure other places have it worse) I'm not rly complaining since I'm still gonna get it and brag to all my friends lol its still a pretty good price for a phone like this can't wait (for it to come back on Play store and I can order lol)
In Alberta...I paid $392 all in
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
I paid 470 US$ in Germany for the 16gb, stop whining about a few bucks. Europe gets screwed a lot more than you by exchanging currency 1:1 despite an exchange rate of $1.3=1€...

Yeah there are some sort of extra fees charged as well, whether it be tarrifs or import taxes, etc. The Nexus4 costing $9 more here is actually quite good compared with the iPads that cost $20 more, and the iPhone5's that cost a whopping $50 more. $50 more, seriously... I'm just happy the Nexus4 is a minute $9 more.

Get a refund from Amazon on your Moto G

Merry christmas everyone, I just wanted to let you know that if you bought your Moto G on Amazon, and its price is now lower than what you paid for it, you might be able to get a refund on the price difference. I contacted Amazon, on their chat thing, talked it through with the assistant, and I'm getting 5.18 GBP for the price difference.
16gb is showing as £175 on Amazon UK for me
Motorola seemed to have bumped it up not decreased.
Just bought an 8GB from amazon.co.uk for 135.36 quid an hour ago. It was 142 quid last night at around 12 (GMT+1).

Its a bit more if you order from overseas. I dunno why, though. It seems I'm paying for shipping I'm not paying. Still, I can live with 5 quid extra. Its 45 quid cheaper than if I buy it here in Sweden anyway.
If the phone is 129.95 and I qualify for super saver shipping. I have no idea why the total is 135.36 when the shipping charges are 0 quid. VAT maybe? I'm supposed to pay 5% more than the brits.
