[Q] GS4 i950 CM 10.2 Nightly LTE problem - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I can't get LTE data to work on the latest CM 10.2 nightly (cm-10.2-20131007-NIGHTLY-jfltexx). It establishes a connection to the LTE service according to the device status menu, but when I go to browse the internet, it says no data connection (there is also no valid ip address in the device status menu).
Am I doing something wrong? Or do I need to reset my carrier settings or something? I am with Vodafone AU. I have also done a full data wipe, and I have flashed both the MGA LTE modem and the regular MGA baseband modem.
Thanks

OK solved my problem. The APN settings were wrong, changed it to match the touchwiz settings and it has worked.

Galaxy S - no signal

After factory data reset phone can't see GSM network and can't register. It says NO SERVICE. SIM card ok. check at another phone. What can be a problem and how to fix it?
Some info below:
fw: 2.1update1
baseband i9000xxjf5
kernel 2.6.29
build ECLAIR.XWJF7
csc i9000serjf2
p code: gt-i9000hkxbri
Have you checked your APN settings?
I can't make even phone call. APN...What to check in particular? wifi and gps are working fine. tried service mode... it says signal strength 0db.
My wifes is the same way it cant lock on a service provider after factory restore only way it works is with a custom rom cant figure it out
Contact your network and enter mobile network settings manually .
jje
flash to custom rom maybe?
it's your APN settings
just google your APN settings... i.e. i'm with Bell mobility... if I google Bell APN I will find the info I need... that data goes into settings>wireless>mobile networks>access point names
hit the menu button and add apn.... bell's examples are here http://androidforums.com/samsung-i7500/87145-bell-mobility-apn.html
they are carrier specific obviously
Hi All,
This happened to me before and I was as frustrated as you and when I was about to give up, I tried one last restoration, but only this time I did it correctly. After that, I restored 5 different versions of Samsung Galaxy S stock ROM back to my Samsung Galaxy S. One of these versions were Chinese, and everything was in Chinese.
Samsung Galaxy S had no signal was because the modem file was missing while you were performing the restoration.
Now, all you have to do is go to this page and follow the instructions to restore the Stock ROM back to your Samsung Galaxy S.
You can try to install a different rom just in case. I had the same problem and i tried to fix it applying different modems but that wouldnt work so i ended flashing cyanogenmod and back to another custom rom and that did the trick.
Even flashing back to the latest official rom for my country and operator.

[Q] No data/internet after installing Paranoid Android 4.3

Hey
After upgrading to Paranoid Android 3.92 (or whichever was the first version based on 4.3) I've not been able to use cellular internet on my N4. I followed the procedure described, doing a factory reset, and flashing the bootloader and modem software first, before flashing the ROM. I've upgraded to the latest PA ROM (3.95 as of writing) and no joy. WiFi works fine, and I can send and receive calls and texts fine. The phone status section also says I'm connected to a HSPA network, but just doesn't seem to be able to get any data from it (no data symbol at the signal indicator at all).
Any ideas on what could be causing this, and how to fix it?
Thanks.
Edit: Issue solved, it had selected the wrong APN after resetting.

Data connectivity problems have been reported by several people with CyanogenMod. I personally experienced it with CM, SlimBean....
Have you tried AOKP? I'm running 4.2.2 and have not had any data connectivity issues with this ROM. This is an unmolested install...no APN tweaking.
AOKP
I am downloading it now & will report the result
Same result
Hi
I just flashed AOKP same result, when i toggle mobile data it say connected in setting > about > mobile network state , but no internet!!!??

[Q] No data connection

After updating from Foxhound 3.5 to Foxhound 3.6 I'm unable to have data connection on my phone. Previously (on Foxhound 3.5) I just had to search for the network provider again and it'd work fine until rebooting. Now whenever I reboot it says that it can't connect to the network and when I do so I'm able to connect but I can only call and receive text messages, but no data connection. I've tried flashing my modem to an XXUEMKE and an XXUEML6 but both of these didn't work. I've manually and automatically changed APN settings but still to no avail. I'm from the Netherlands and my provider is Tele 2. Any help on this?

[Q] After 4.4/NAE update, only EDGE is working... 3G crashes on GSM

Background:
- Sprint L720
- International unlocked with GSM SIM
After updating to a new 4.4 ROM (Slimkat) and NAE (modem only from the modem thread), connecting to anything other than EDGE causes, what seems to be, a modem crash. If I force "GSM only"/2G connection, it's stable with EDGE. If I try to connect to 3G, I see "3G" quickly flash on the status bar next to the signal indicator (I have full service), and then the whole mobile connecting drops and resets... then it goes back to having full service, but no data connection at all - until I got to mobile settings and set it back to "2G" and it goes back to stable EDGE.
I am overseas with the phone (it's fully unlocked and I got a strong H+ connection with the old CM ROMs at the same location), so I am wondering if it's an issue with the new 4.4 ROMs not supporting GSM? Perhaps some sort of baseband/modem mismatch? I also flashed NAE (modem only) as well when I did the ROM - I have since downgraded, but perhaps it isn't fully downgrading?
I applied the MF9 full one-click, no joy ... I did a factory wipe and applied the 4.2 factory image from SamMobile, no joy...
Looking at the logcat, I see something along the lines of an error for 'Mobile network type unknown: 0'...
Any help would be greatly appreciated - only having EDGE is driving me nuts, especially when my actual mobile network here is very fast..
Let me know of any information I need to provide - Thanks
Ok, update - I applied the MK2 modem and then NAE, as I saw someone else do because they said that the NAE file is missing some things... no joy
This all seems to have happened after applying the NAE modem-only file - Does SlimKat not support GSM? I don't think it's SlimKat, because, even going back to the fresh "Factory default" flash that I got some SamMobile, I still had the same issue..
Which leads me to what I think the problem is - the Qualcomm settings. Those seem to be persistent across all ROM restores, so how do I go about resetting the QUALCOMM settings to default? Is there something I can do with EFS Professional/CDMA Toolbox or something?
