Upgrade?

I have my n3 rooted with a stock rom, can I do the ota upgrade without losing root.

Don't think you can your going to have to root again

You can download the firmware from sammobile and flash it via mobile odin. You will keep root. And knox counter 0x0 as well. Forget ota.

So the ota won't stop asking me to update till I update though Odin

Knox counter will stay 0x0 only with the old bootloader

And, I believe, Mobile ODIN won't flash the new bootloader so you can go back to a lower version of firmware.
Also, Mobile ODIN will retain root so you don't need to reroot and potentially/will trigger warranty void...

Yes,but the most important is : having old bootloader before using mobile odin

You can turn auto update off through settings so it will stop bugging you....

Firmware update? N9005 Australian, Rooted with D'Vega,

As I mentioned, can I safely upgrade firmware without loosig root access? Currently It is stock from the launch time?

I assume you still have knox 0x0?
Before doing anything check your current version and read the Mobile Odin Pro thread, read the first half if you are on older stock:

Hi!
Got my N9005 with MJ7, so I went and rooted with cf auto-root.
As I'm on 4.3 stock, what are my options for upgrading?
What are the implications of the new 4.4.2 bootloader ?

I can live with that as I like the s-pen features.
Should I just flash any firmware?
I see on sammobile there isn't yet a Croatian rom with 4.4.2.
Should I just flash another one if so how to choose and what is the best way to flash?
Will my root survive or will I have to re-root?

Chainfire has a 4.4.2 version of CF auto-root out, did you try that?

Yeah that's the only one I tried. Seems to install fine but when booted back up supersu isn't even installed

Unrooting sm-n900r4 us cellular

Ok so I rooted my note 3 using odin and cf autoroot. I know want to unroot it so I can recieve the 4.4.2 ota update. How do I go about doing this. Im new to this but am really enjoying the root. I just want the 4.4.2 and then re root it. Also if I unroot will it reset my knox counter. It tripped it when I rooted using odin. When I re rootbi want tonuse kingoapp. Can anyone help me please

SM-N900R4? Strange. If you download Wanam Xposed and Install the Xposed Installer, you can change your System Status to Official, and then set SuperSU to Survival Mode when updating to see if you can save root on OTA. If not, you'll just lose root, but be updated.

You've already tripped your Knox counter, there is no way of re-sitting this currently so no need for Kingo.
Upgrade to 4.4.2 using the various listen methods on Odin, the use CF-Root. It's the safest, it trips knox but since you already have this is irrelevant.

Reroot. But as your device is not really universally supported, you will have to find a way to root on the new firmware.

Unroot I9506 4.4.2 NEE

Hi, I found guide to root I9506 4.4.2 NEE, but can`t find guide to unrooting. Do you have link to it, if yes please provide it

Just uninstall SuperSU and flash 4.4.2 NEE ROM with Odin.
There may be other way, but hits one works well

I used the unroot option in SuperSu and it works great

No....once knox warranty is void (0x1) you can not get it back to 0x0 no matter what!
