I know there has been tons of talk on the lack of low light mode. But I read in a thread that it's still there, they just named it something else. Now I can't find the thread. Is this true?

is this what you looking for( ?)
if so, just enable relavant setting marked in red(see screenshot )
post note
i would suggest if you use it ,switch it off straight away ,otherwise you will see( lag ) in photos...
eg.. small window saying something about " processing ....."
if you turn it off straight away the notice( ..lag) ,is gone !
(this is what i found happened if i just left setting on ,all photo had "processing ..)
I think that's it. Is that the exact same thing? Or just an alternative?

I've seen it a few times as well, however it seems to be limited to Tapatalk and maybe Chrome Browser. Though I cannot confirm, I believe it may be a Jelly Bean / app / tablet compatibility issue, rather than just the N7.

I've seen it only on the XDA app. I've never seen it on anything else so I'm not worried about it.

I've only seen it during a game chrome and this forum app.

I've only see on the Tapatalk/XDA/Engadget app (sometimes on random post the lines appear) i've notice that on ChatOn/dolphim/PlayStore too (but is so fast here) it must be a incompability issue, i read that on other post here (screen refresh rate or redraw), I've never seen/detect it on anything else so i'm not worried about it (yet.. o_o).. i hope for an update or smthing for thats apps. So only few notice that?
I've noticed it too randomly... it literally is a split second...

We would test and make a list with thats app which causing the lines and maybe put that on the OP?
and was here where a read about it:

Smart scrolling feature apparently isnt working... I've noticed when I'm browsing that small green eye does not show up on the screen...
Is it normal or its the settings issue... Although I do see that little eye (greyed out) on top on my screen all the time ... It changes to white at times and then turns back to grey ....
Can anyone plz tell me what to do....
Thanks

Are you using the original browser and not , for example Chrome etc. ?
When you see the green eye, it will work.
Smart scrolling works better if you actually move your head up and down, not just your eyes.
The other mode is , you have to tilt the phone back or forward to scroll.

I believe so... But some how at times it says to enable smart scroll enable at least one of the relavent functions.... Very strange... I believe all functions r enabled... More over when I try to test this function under help, it still doesn't do anything....

One of two possible reasons:
1. The sensor doesn't detect your eyes due to low light. Good light conditions are crucial.
2. Software or hardware fault

Yes... All features are activated.... Still no luck..
At times when I switch it off and switch it on again it says....
To enable Smart Scroll, enable at least one of the relevant function...
Strange....

thats right, you have to actually tap on the words to go into the sub-menu and tick the functions you want...

Smart Scroll on Samsung Galaxy S4 lets you scroll a web page via tilting your Head or Device. The camera sees your eyes and then you can move your Head or* your device to start scrolling. Follow these steps:
*
1.Go to Setting
2.Go to My Device tab
3.Tap on and open “Smart Screen”
4.Tap on the actual words “Smart Scroll” and make sure it is enabled
5.There, you have 2 options
************* a.Tilting head: you need to move your head to scroll
************* b.Tilting device: you need to move your device to scroll

Mate,
It's still not working... By the way is it in any way connected to any samsung apps??? The reason being that I have disabled some of the Samsung apps (which I thought were a bloatware)...
For your info, my front camera seems to be working fine... No problems what so ever...
By the way is there any way that I can check specifically if its a software or hardware issue??? if yes, plz let me know exactly what I should be check with regards to hardware/software...
Thanks in advance

Marhaba. It uses the other sensors to detect eyes. Actually an infrared led light. I believe it wont work with light behind you.
Anyways in the settings did you touch the area to the left of the on button? There is a deeper menu there.
Finally iyit seems like a siftwarw bug. Do you ever see the notification icon turn white from gray to indicate tracking?

Please close this thread. ... I figured what the problem was....
[SOLVED]
It was due to the app LightFlow.... When u enable it in Phone Settings under Accessibility, u lose certain featues rather I should say they stop working....

it has every "s feature" the s4 has and more.
Anyone know those new s features or gestures?

Id' heard it's been dumbed down a bit, which i was interested in, for me the SGS4 was a bit gimmicky, seemed to be too much going on at the same time.
After a while you simply don't use some of the gestures, you rely on what you know, probably why the HTC One was so popular, it's system was literally stripped of anything it didn't need, worked really well and it's been the best to date, i think Sammy could take a thing or two from that.

Yep, they should definitely remove things like the smart scroll or the smart pause. Those are not even gimmicky, they are simply useless.

That's not good to hear about the battery life but I assume your device is running a pre-release software build so hopefully Samsung will fix any bugs that may be draining the battery in the final release software.

Anyone else noticing that when not in PERFECT lighting conditions pictures are blurry..
Yes - it's been driving me crazy... most of the time the pictures come out blurry. I've been messing around with different modes/settings and I cannot get a consistent clear picture. Pretty frustrating!

Yes, absolutely notice this. Brought it up in the other thread but no one thought it was worth checking. Have done tons of side by sides with Note 2 and honestly this camera is very touchy. Has a tiny field and it's often hard to see where that is in the pics. I really hope the camera gets a software update and it's not hardware because the camera has been the only thing I'm on the fence about. When you zoom in, even in good light, things in the taken pic get blurry and almost look like they have an effect.

Also, noticed right away. I thought maybe that I was just sleepy! lol, but what are the odds of a software update helping the issue?

once i turned picture stabilazation off mine takes perfect pics
I tried turning mine off but seems the same.
Pictures in bright env. seem fine but indoors just flat out sucks.
I can hold my hand a little away from the camera a bit and it won't focus on it. If I tap to make it focus it sometimes turns green like it did but my hand is still blurry.
I hope they push a SW fix soon.
I don't understand it. How can you not catch some of this before release? Camera is a basic function of a smart phone...

I really hope a update comes out to fix all this and it's not just poor HW :/
It's just sad that these basic obvious issues make it out the door.
They should have caught these things and I understand shipments went already but we should have had updates just waiting for us to fix em.
Oh well, time shall tell I guess. Sprint won't help I'm sure given how slow they are to push updates too...
Anyone mess with any video? How's that, clear, blurry mixture mess? lol
That prob has ability to be better or worse I guess. You've got 1080P mode and 4K HD, which when enabled seems to kill off a number of features.
I've not messed with it yet but just wondering.

I simply dont get very good pictures in anything that isn't natural full daylight. Not necessarily blurry, just extremely grainy. But thats rather expected with most smartphones.
