Hi
Please help me with this -I've a Samsung galaxy s3 and a new Samsung LCD TV.
So most of the videos I can stream from my s3 to the TV via dnla as long as they're in the same WiFi networks.
Now I just got my new nexus thinking I'll be able to do the same. But chrome starts play inn these videos directly
On the webpage and I don't have any way to stream this to the TV.
On s3, it used too play it on the video player that comes with the android os.
How do I do this on nexus? The wireless display doesn't find my TV at all

N7 supports miracast. You need miracast support for wireless.
So do I need to buy miracast dongle?

Chromecast dongle could be another choice?
Look for "Pixel Media Server" on Playstore.
I use it to stream via DLNA to my Samsung tv, since my S4 is running on AOSP.

I just bought a movie from the samsung media hub and transfered it to my computer. I know I am able to watch it on my tab, but I was wondering if anyone here has heard of a program that can play a pyv file so I can watch it on my computer and possibly also on my tv.
Thanks

If vlc doesn't play it then your probably out of luck...

I tried vlc player and even that doesn't work. Apparently the built in video app on the tab works though...
Is there any way we could stream content to a TV using dlna or something like it?

There are dlnA apps in the market that will work. Just search for dlna in the play store.

Just to clarify, cause I'd really like to be able to use the NQ to stream media from my NAS; here's the scenario
If I was playing an MKV file using Dice Player (which is streaming it from my NAS via SMB) on my Galaxy Nexus, I can have the Galaxy Nexus communicate with the NQ to have it displayed on my TV?
Any help with this is greatly aprpeciated
He's anyone successfully connected their N7 to Apple TV?? I've done some searching and tried a few suggested programs(media share, xbmc, play to) but none were successful.. a Search on Google Play brought up a couple pay for apps but without verification of hate to waste the $$$
TIA in advance

Ok I'll answer my own question lol...
I found a program on Google play that seems to work, it's played my music and videos plus can do YouTube and a few other apps (unfortunately Pandora it's not a choice) . Haven't been able to show photos from my N7 through the program yet but it's suppose to be capable..
The app is "Apple TV Media" and it's free, you just have to open a account with Zappo during the initial setup..

I use imediashare, you have just to connect nexus 7 and apple TV to same wifi connection and select any video for example YouTube video, than tipe send to, than you will see imediashare app and tap that, than the video will be shown to your Apple TV, this is the paid version of imediashare, with the lite version you have to select your videos through the app
This can be done with other media sharer

I have this app and tested on a friends ATV and it worked for you tube videos and local vids (amongst many other options) and this one can work with photos. If you have all your photos on Picasa like I do there is an option to stream from there.
So I'm intrigued with the miracast dongles but I don't want to spend a fortune on it. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with them. Also hoping to not spend more than $40 on it. I'm running the Nexus 5 Experience which is CM11 and it seems to support it.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Chromecast dongle. $35. Allcast from Koush and a Chromecast dongle. I can show pictures and movies from my phone.

From what I understand is that Chromecast won't let me mirror my phone to the TV which is what I'm looking for. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Allcast allows you to do just that. Also, I think there's an app called mirror also by Koush that allows you to stream that onto an apple tv

Could you please explain how to mirror your android phone to the TV like a miracast dongle would. I purchased a chromecast and so far I am unsuccessful in mirroring whatever is on my phone to the TV. I looked up the Koush beta and it only works for the NEXUS 5...
You can't mirror at this point. But you can play videos and music from your device and stream them to your TV. Koush working on mirroring for all devices.
You can also use Allcast to stream to any dnla device like Roku, XBox PS4.

I'm thinking of getting a chromecast dongle for my tv and just wanted to check some info first.
1. I want to wireless send video to my TV
2. I use showbox & mobdro and mxplayer will these work and is it smooth?
3. Will it also wireless play audio from poweramp?
Any info would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Kev

I think in general you're barking up the wrong tree. The way chrome cast works is it pulls content directly from the Internet. What you're describing is like Apple Air Play (or some such thing).
Chrome cast is great, but really your device acts like a controller, that's why only certain apps are supported, because the chrome cast has to run them "onboard" so to speak. I use it with Netflix a lot.
Hope that helps.

Never tried poweramp but showbox will stream to it. Just make sure youe media player is allcast or Avia. Never had an issue with either or showbox
