Hi all,
I've got a large collection of Megadrive/Genesis ROMs sitting around on a HDD and was hoping to put them to work on my TF101. Can anyone recommend a good emulator? If the best isn't free, I'm happy to pay for it.

Ooo, sorry to hijack the thread, but @id10terrordfw, how is the Galaxy Note? I mean, do you still use your transformer as much or has the galaxy note made it less necessary? I'm deciding between the Note and SII, but it's hard to find a review by someone who has both the Note and the transformer, and previous experience with the SII.

Thats my main question... Cause I really want the Galaxy Note. HUGE 5.3" screen is awesome, but I love the new features coming to the S3, like wireless charging, or taking pictures @ the same time as recording a video. So if some features from the S3 are coming to the Galaxy Note I will get the Galaxy Note cause I love big Screens!

Wireless charging? that require hardware modifications so it is up to you if you want to add that yourself using one of the guides that you can find by searching xda.
About the software, a lot will be ported to the note eventually but don't expect anything to come out of Samsung. They won't be able to sell the new galaxy s3 if you can find most of its features somewhere else ie in the note.

Never going to happen. As the first reply suggests, it would be marketing suicide for the s3 if Samsung gave an older and cheaper product with already brilliantly unique perks (Note) the same software as their latest product (s3).

So a big no.
Sammobile just posted first S3 rom. Hopefully full TW port should happen soon

Question is what kind of wireless charging is on S3. If there's some kind of dock then this is useless.

from what ive heard
wireless charging is only 6inches in radius
not that fancy ^^
i think most other s3 stuff could be ported to note and nexus
Just wondering if it was worth upgrading my samsung galaxay 10.1 to the note 10.1 special after i can finally make voice calls from it. As am just waiting on a phone call to say when the 3g version is coming in stock
Quad core processor
2GB of RAM
Getting Jelly Bean
If you have the money, I wouldn't see a reason not to upgrade.
Just hope Samsung doesn't give up support for it or take forever to provide further upgrades as has happened with the Tab.

Ding Ding Ding. Exactly. They did it with the OG GT then the GT 10.1. They've given no reason to make us think support will be any better on the Note 10.1.

I do not like the way Note 10.1 looks to be honest. I had my Galaxy Tab 10.1 with me when I stopped by BestBuy and compare them side by side, tell you the truth, my a year old Galaxy Tab 10.1 still better looking then newest Tab Note 10.1!!
but as far as hardware specs goes, of course Note 10.1..if only I can afford it now (money gone to my newest toy Nexus 7!)
Just a question: how are you going to upgrade your tablet? Is it a kind of an offer?
For me, I am an owner of both Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Note 10.1. For design, the Tab 10.1 is thinner, lighter, and has more solid feeling.
But I think it is worth to get the Note 10.1 because it is far much better in terms of:
- Performance: Note 10.1 is amazingly faster, has much better response to touch, especially that the note has Quad Core processor with 2 GB of RAM vs Dual Core processor and 1 GB of RAM on the Tab 10.1.
- WACOM technology: You are now using a tablet and a notebook, and you will no more need a paper an a pen. Whereas the Tab 10.1 only uses the standard stylus with response issues.
- Brighter display on the Note 10.1.
- You can have phone calls and send SMS and MMS using the Note 10.1, but not the Tab 10.1.
- Multi-Screen multi-tasking is amazing.
In short, yes it worth the upgrade if you are looking for better performance and a replacement for papers and pens, and especially worth it if you are having this device for learning and education. Galaxy Tab 10.1 has performance issues, and it has lags and not very fluid like in other tablets.

It is perfectly designed. I love the "S Note" app very much. It is definitely of high performance. No lags what so ever.
BTW, there are some software additions to Note 10.1 in ICS that are not present in the ICS of Tab 10.1. For example, the "Remote Controls" of finding out a lost Note 10.1 is not available for Tab 10.1 - the so called SamsungDive. Also, lock screen options like putting "Stock" information or "News", or weather on the lock screen is not present in the Tab 10.1.
And that's plus more of them

Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G LTE, which I have, is unable of doing phone calls or sending simple SMS or MMS, in spite of the fact that I got ICS 4.0.4 on it!!
In short, seems like Samsung is not supporting their old Galaxy Tab 10.1 like it should be.
But you can do this with the 3G Note 10.1

Hey man! I did not know this was a signature, I couldn't guess it is kind of kidding, so I am sorry
BTW, the Note 10.1 is a very amazing product.
For whom asked about the Note 10.1 applications, I have extracted system.img file, and I will start by posting some familiar apps, but I am NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHETHER THEY ARE NOT WORKING OR IF THE CAUSED HARM TO YOUR TAB
Since the apps are large, I will post them gradually by posting external links.
Samsung quality and displays are unmatched..in all of their product line.
The S-pen is so freaky cool.and the notes multi tasking windows is a huge productive plus.
If you want a notebook or net book substitute the note may do it for you.
Some one posted it matters on what you want to do with it and what your budget commands.
That is the answer.

That should be up to you and your needs. If you really need 3G, but want a more powerful tablet, you might have to invest in a different one.

oh my goodness, this guy is right. my friend also has the note and it seems a bit bulkier. The tab 10.1 still has that cutting edge look and is much more slim than its brother note. samsung is clever - they release new things and force people to think about upgrading, but it's just my opinion.

You know what its one of those things I don't use the 3g much but bet you when I haven't got it I will miss it or suddenly need it
Well had it for a few days now and its a great tab feels a bit heavy but its still a great tab the only downfall is without the 3g you suddenly realize how much you do use is and miss it so because of that am going to have to send it back and keep my galaxy 10.1 till I can get the 3g note. If anyone is coming from a wifi tab to this will be very pleased but if anyone is coming from a 3g tab then wait and try and get the 3g version

And why would Tab 2 be a better option? I have tried the tab 2 over a period of time and i must say that compared to the Note 10.1 it sucks, big time!
I have a N8000 and its easily the best tablet i ever touched. I have owned several tabs (Transformer,Folio, Vega, GT-P7500 and some more) and some are good but nothing compares to the Note 10.1.

You must be trolling! Anybody would prefer a quad core processor, two gigabytes of ram, and a five megapixel camera over basically the same specs of the tab 10.1 that the tab 2 10.1 has.

I need you guys' opinions on switching from a phone to a phablet. Can you kindly give me any?
:superhyped:
N9005 might be my last Samsung. We are nearly 10 months after launch and AOSP roms like CM have only just reached a more or less stable phase. I can only imagine Samsung will do anything it can to make AOSP development more difficult in the future.
For the moment I am fine just as my N3 is
Note 4 will see the struggle with Android 5 AND eventually (on some models, not all) with 64-bit Android 5 so I am in no big hurry to pay premium money for being basically a beta-tester.
But you can understand my position better if I say that my N9005 is still on rooted knox-0 stock 4.3 heavily optimized with xposed and similar stuff.
If I do upgrade it MIGHT be on Note 5, and only if there is no truly-open premium alternative.
Not sure yet...

I don't see how that's Samsung's problem. When we decide to root and flash different recoveries, kernels, ROMS and modems we know we are taking a risk of potentially messing up our phones. The fact that you are having that issue after doing all of those things is not Samsung's fault.
As for the Note 4, i'm probably going to go with the next version of the Galaxy Mega 6.3 if Samsung bumps up the specs a bit. I know they want to keep it as a mid-range device, but it has to be more useable than the current Galaxy Mega.
It's a shame reading that so many people ate unsatisfied with their phones.
Personally I absolutely love the Note 3. I have had it since it was released and it is absolutely perfect for me. There art many positive surprises. The screen in direct sunlight, battery life and how tough and water resistant it is. With my previous phones I was always discovering small problems. With the note I am constantly experiencing small advantages. It was the same story with the note 2.
If a new one will come out though I am not sure if I can resist buying it

Care to elaborate....
I would maybe wait for the Note 4 instead of buying it on release day.
If there was a bigger flagship phone from any other company I might decide to go for it.
Even though I haven't tripped KNOX and on the latest C-RoM, I might want to try something new later. Samsung is just doing the same thing over and over again. Samesung.
Not only Samsung every company is doing same thing. But note series is having more spices. And I am satisfied customer of note series. I am not a big fan of cm or mui because I love pen and camera feature. And my note 3 is fast and better than any other phone..
