[Q] The Power button not functioned .. so sad :(

hello guys ..
i have an xperia x2 and i'm using it about 3 months (that means the phone still guaranteed)
i use it normally until the power button suddenly not functioned again ..
i don't know what happen .. is it a hardware problem or wrong setting on phone .. ?
when i press the power button , ussually the screen goes off , but now, nothing happens .
now the phone has the screen on for everyday .. zzzz what a bad day ..
could you give me some suggestion .. ??

Samsung Galaxy Y wont turn on

So my Samsung Galaxy Y unexpectedly turned off yesterday. When I try to turn it on it just turns on until the Samsung Galaxy Y GT-s5360 or the welcome screen but turns off again so I tried three times before it turned on. I was able to use the phone for like 5 minutes then it turned off again and from then on I can only turn it on until the Samsung Galaxy Y Welcome screen for 5 seconds only. Take note only 5 seconds or less than 10 seconds. This is not boot loop I am sure for the phone turns off. When I try the volume up + home button + switch button I cannot do anything with it since it turns off in less than 10 seconds. I've been asking around other sites and people told me that this might be because of the internal memory and I think they are correct because my phone has been saying internal memory almost full but I simply uninstall apps. But if this is true then how am I able to delete files if I cannot even access my phone. I dont wanna go to a technician and have it reformated because I would be paying much and I have important files that cant be deleted. Please help me. I need your reply thanks.

Can you enter to odin mode? ( volume down + menu button + power button).
Try installing a stock rom via odin.

are ur important files on sd card or internal memory?
also the best choice is to take it to the service centre

Maybe it's just a small problem. Have you tried charging it? 'coz the battery might be down. If it still dosen't work, see if you can enter odin mode and flash stock firmware.

@Jeannuel I cant enter that mode because my phone shuts off between 5-10 seconds. and the link you gave made my cellphone turn on but its still the same.

You mean to say that it turns off 5-10 seconds in download mode as well?? & if that's the case, then fella!! you've to give it to samsung service center.

1. download odin packages from docky73's thread.
2.Remove everything from your
phone (SD card, sim, battery).
3. Plug your phone into your
computer WITHOUT the battery.
4. Press and HOLD vol. up and
vol. down.
5. As you are HOLDING these
buttons, reattach your battery.
6. You should be in Download
Mode.
7. Unplug phone from USB
now flash phone via odin...
it may work

the same problem occurred with me 3 times...the first 2 times what i did was remove the battery for 1 minute or so..then insert it and start charging the phone...after a few hours the charging screen appeared automatically and then i could access the phone...the 3rd time it happened..the above process didint work and i had too take it to the samsung service center and repair it there...when i asked them what the problem was..theys said it happens when u update something although that wasnt true
so finally my advice to u..try the process i tried first..if still it doesnt work..l got no choice but too take ie to the service center...and dont worry they wont charge u anything if your cell is in the warranty period even if its rooted as they hardly bother about it

TURN OFF THE PHONE,
DONT PRESS POWER,
PRESS POWER + HOME + VOLUME UP TOGETHER WHILE THE PHONE IS OFF

I had the same problem,charge ur phone or while it's plugged in charger press (vol up+main+power) their clear ur internal memory no other way have to format internel memory..or try flashing a custom from.

me too i cant open my samsung after its hang up. i turn it off then after a minute i open it again but it only appear the welcome samsung and thats it ./. im using galaxy y and i tried to open again and again up to now it was yesterday plzzzzzzzz help me guys tnxxxxxx

First of all, is the battery charged??
Keep the device switched off and leave it for charging for atleast an hour.

you have to get your power button repaired..

i think ur battery has worn out

system hardware will damage if you turn on and off ur phone many times....the main problem is the system hardware or the battery not the memory
That happen to me before but luckly i fixed my phone

Have the same problem here after inserting the battery it power up automatically and then 3 times after galaxy y it restarts and then goes to Home after sometime again restarts

im having the same problem T.T has anyone tried using usb jig to fix this problem? im so depressed T.T Is there other way than going to the service center? By the way I can't flash ODIN too. Every time i put the battery it flashes Galaxy Y and then turns off after a few seconds please reply!

[Q] Galaxy y 5510 always turns off after 2 seconds

i have a galaxy y 5510 (the one with the qwerty keyb)
which won't go past the "samsung galaxy y" screen when it boots. it just shuts down after 2sec after i turn it on.
i can't go into recovery mode.
i managed to get to download mode pressing vol down + home + power, i manage to press vol up tu get further into the menu, but it will just turn off. It actually looks like i can use odin to do something from there, but i can't because it turns off, it just won't stay "awake" for more than 2 sec.
i also found a guide ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800 ) which let me flash what i want from download mode, but since it will not stay on for more than 2 seconds i can't do anything...
i tried with another battery, but it's the same...
if i plug the power it won't charge and the pc does not see anything attached to the usb port.
what can i do? is it time to throw it away?

From My Side if u access the phone system like apps , setting
Then go to Setting»Privacy Erase All Data or Format The Phone... Now
Or Dail This Code For Hard Reset Ur Phone...

as i wrote before i can't turn on the phone, how can i go into settings or dial the code? i can also access download mode, and for a very short time, and i don't have time to let odin run.
i also tried with another battery and it will still turn off after 2 seconds, so i'd rule out the battery as a problem.

Go to your phones ofgicial site and see is there any software repair option if not go to sevice centre ...and ask them to repair it they will charge you some money and repair your phone

i am here asking on a forum because i can't use the samsung software and because i am trying to avoid to go to the service centre and to pay for that...

try to connect to usb, turn on then pull the batteries out (dont disconnect cord from pc)
try using a usb jig?

it did not work...
i read some stuff about the usb jigs... since they are quite cheap, it wouldn't a bad idea to try it out... but i just found this http://www.xda-developers.com/android/need-a-samsung-usb-jig-build-your-own/ but i am reading it now... i hope it's not too hard...

maybe you have problem with your Power Button same to mine.
Try to pull out your battery then take it back again press volume Up + Home button (yes its recovery mode but dont press Power Button) if your phone enters to recovery Mode you have Problem with your Power Button:good:
Try to Press your Power Button Continuously and Hard as you can until you get in your Home Screen

does the battery charging animation show when you put it on charge?
If no its either
dead battery
faulty charger
faulty usb socket
faulty motherboard
if yes but you cant turn phone on
faulty power button

If the screen doesnt work in download mode you will have to take to a repair shop

maybe bro ..because all the method i use is not working ..i dont know whats the problem because the night after the problem ,my phone is very good..my batery is 50% .but in the morning when i check my phone if i have a txt my phone not turning on or lights .i check all but it doesnt

I had same issue, and resolved by plugging usb cable and entering download mode, and clicking cancel,
which reboots phone, i think your battery might be dead, but shows 50%,
try using another battery,
plugging charger and booting,
long pressing power button,
removing sim card and rebooting,
using another battery, removing sim card, plugging charger and trying download mode,
if download mode works, there is a chance to save your data :angel:
if not, do not stay there anymore and go to repair centre, waiting too long might reduce even more your chances to repair it :good:

Tried with usb jig.?infos here in general section,google,maybe some facebook groups.

like I said if the phone boots - you can hear notification sounds but there is no screen output and also no screen output in download mode then you have a faulty screen/motherboard - take to a repair shop for diagnoses

read the 1st post - clearly states that the screen also does not work in download mode

one more thing bro ,.. im running the reincarnation latest build ,.and a few days my phone sometimes wen im push my home or power its delay to turn on ,..??,and in the morning its not turning on ,.. sorry 4 my very bad english bro

dead s4 diagnosis

hey guys i have at hand a samsung galaxy s4 gt-i9500 . no matter what i do it won't boot .
i just wanted to know how to tell the difference between a soft dead handset and a hardbricked handset.
trying to boot my s4 using a power supply it consumes upto 40 mA/3.7V but whenever i let go of the power switch it instantly drops to zero.
is this a symptom of a hardbrick or a soft brick ???

Can you boot in downloadmode? Power/home/volume down simultanious pressed en hold

It's a hard brick,needs motherboard replacement.
If you even get no light on the screen it's for sure, did you try to flash a rom ? If so,was it a rom for your model ?
That's the way to hardbrick your phone,i did it once myself and i think it's the only way to a hardbrick

You have neither one. You have hardware failure.

What makes You think he needs to replace motherboard?
Just because it doesn't work now, it doesn't mean it won't work again.
OP - do you know anything about this phone? Where did You get it from?
My old HTC had same problem after beer bath
Disassemble Your phone and look for water damages.
