[SOLVED] Odin fail, any help? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I tried to flash the last update of Philz Touch Recovery with Odin (v3.09) and I ended with a I9505 stuck in dowload mode saying "could not do normal boot".
I've tried to flash several stock firmwares but still no luck.
Any Idea?
Thanks.

It means when u reboot it goes into download mode? Or is it just stuck there?

The phone reboots but only into download mode. I can't go into recovery neither.

Hmm maybe it was a bad flash. This is really strange. How did u root ur phone? Auto cf or some other? I feel it's a bad flash.

Rooted with CF Auto Root.

Solved by flashing a new recovery with Odin.

You still can't load into recovery? You used the right odin file?
You should be able to load recovery then wipe data/factory reset and it should work.

Same thing happened to me. You used the wrong CF-Autoroot or the wrong odin to flash this, try with odin 3.09 using AP. If not, just flash stock firmware, it's a softbrick very easily fixable

[Q] ROM and RECOVERY

hello!
I have galaxy s4 i9500.
stock rom 4.4.2
I tried to flash 2 recoveries (philz and twrp) in both odin and flash from the stock recovery, but none of them worked!
I just want to flash one of this two recoveries so I will be able to flash a custom rom.
instead of working, the recovery stays the stock's recovery.
what should I do?
sorry for my bad English.
thanks!!
Uncheck auto-reboot before flashing with Odin. That should probably fix it.

You can try to flash a custom recovery, download the latest supersu.zip and flash it through recovery. Maybe it works then.

You don't need to flash anything. You need to delete everything Knox related. That is the reason this is happening.
So flash cf root 1 more time. Then delete everything knox related from your phone.
