[VIDEO] How to take a screenshot with the Note 3 - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 General

If you're a long time Samsung fan, this will be no good to you.
Here are more ways than you would ever need to screenshot with this device. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a way or two I haven't listed.
Home button + Power
Karate chop
S Pen

Lol yeah when I was setting up my phone I took a screen shot and I tout it was home+down+power. Took me a while but figured it out. Using palm to swipe was a option from the note 2 . Thanks for the post and Google lol.

ARE THESE FEATURE WORTH BUYING OR JUST SAMSUNG GIMMICKS WHICH WE CAN GET SOME TIME LATER ON NOTE 2 ?WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK ABOUT IT ?
Air Gestures: Refers to hand movements made above the phone's display, without coming into contact with the display, that controls the phone. Common gestures include waving your hand over the display to skip a track or waving left and right to switch between open web pages in the browser. These gestures only work with specific Samsung apps.
Air View: Like the stylus on the Galaxy Note 2, you can hover over the display with your finger to view information about certain pieces of content. For example, hovering your finger over an email shows you a longer preview without opening the message; hovering your finger over a date on the calendar shows you a quick view of what to expect on that day.
Drama Shot: Camera feature that shoots 12 photos at once and shows you a time-lapse of all the action in those photos combined into one picture.
Dual Camera: Activates both the rear camera and the front camera, so that the photographer can superimpose himself or herself into the subject of the photo. Samsung gave as an example someone watching football superimposing himself or herself into the game.
Dual Video Call: While video-chatting with someone, you can show them both your face and the view from your rear camera while you chat.
Group Play: Allows multiple Galaxy S4 owners in close proximity to join a private network in which they can, among other things, play a game.
S Health: New app that acts as a fitness tracker and food diary. The Galaxy S4 has a built-in pedometer to count your steps, and you can take photos of your meals each day to keep count of your calories and eating habits. Samsung will also sell a fitness bracelet, a digital scale and fitness belt to measure blood pressure, pulse, glucose levels and weight for those interested.
S Translator: An app in which you can input any of 10 languages and receive a translation, either spoken or in text. Also works to translate text on your email, text messages and a few other Samsung apps.
S Voice Drive: New hands-free function for drivers that allows the driver to operate the phone with his or her voice.
Samsung Adapt Display: The Galaxy S4 "learns" what you are viewing and adjusts the display's brightness accordingly. If the phone senses you are reading an article, for example, it will illuminate from a more muted brightness.
Samsung Adapt Sound: Similar to Adapt Display, your audio can adapt to the content you're listening to (video, music, etc.) and optimize itself to that content.
Samsung Optical Reader: Camera feature that can snap a photo of a business card and import that information into a new contact in your phonebook. Was not working as of demo time, but Samsung reps assured me it would be fixed by the time it shipped to consumers.
Samsung Smart Pause: When watching a video, the front camera can sense when your eyes move away from the screen and pause the video automatically if you aren't looking.
Samsung Smart Scroll: When you are reading an email or article on the web, you can scroll up and down by tilting the device up and down rather than swiping with your finger.
Samsung WatchON: A built-in IR sensor lets you control your television set with your smartphone. Comes with a standard remote and a program guide depending on your cable provider. Can also control certain cable boxes and DVD players.
Share Music: When linked with Group Play, multiple Galaxy S4s can work as surround sound speakers, all playing the same song at once.
Sound & Shot: Allows you to record up to nine seconds of audio at the time of taking each photo.
Story Album: Templates that allow you to create a digital photo journal or scrapbook from a certain event. You can also then order and print out that story album for a fee.
Omg this is exciting I am buying one for sure is there any image of the actual device ??

Agreed, the actual hardware of the s4 isn't that Much better than the Note 2. For my uses the Note 2 is already fast as **** and with plenty 0t battery life. It strikes me that most of the desirable functions of the s4 are software based, and even then I don't think they are exciting enough to make me want to give up the s-pen. It's just too damn handy to be able to use your phone just like a pen & notepad.

But i suspect the Drama feature will no be ported on note 2 as it may require Octa processing speed what says guys ?
Crap. I just got my Note II and have only recently thought of playing around with it, trying out a ROM or two.
This will never end!

Wait, i'm not so expert, but i read about the Octa that works like two separeted Quad. So the point is that S4 is not 2x much powerful, but only for the Ghz of his best Quad... Maybe I'm wrong, but I suppose that will be no problem for the feature that are not requesting the IR sensor or the umidity sensor or something similar.
This air gesture is a pretty old feature which I was using on my old Nokia, it was a 3rd party application that used the front camera to detect the motion of your hands over the screen and swipe photos or pages. Nothing new and certainly not a samsung innovation. Really disappointed as I find it too hyped up.

Btw... Am I the only one who is disappointet by the lack of HDR video?
patience guys......most of the software features on s4 are going to come to the note2..(as confirmed by the top guns at samsung)....but need to wait for the updates..4.2.2
At the first impulse, I wouldn't mind selling my Note 2 and getting an S4, mostly because I think I wouldn't miss the extra screen size (0.5" now) and I would like the decrease in chassis size/weight. Also I'd really like to have an IR emitter to be able to control the TV and other devices.
The other features are mostly software, not a big step up from what I have in the N2.
However, I think I would miss the SPen - I got really used to it and don't consider it a useless gadget anymore. It is great. Extra precision compared to any fingers and a screen that is always clean and shiny.
Plus I finally stopped thinking about battery and plugging in and charging. With the S2 I got an extended huge 2700mAh battery and even that could not compare to the Note2's battery. I now use the device fully from when I get up at 0730 till 1am and when I go to sleep it is usually still around 55% battery. I don't want to go back to a puny battery...
Note 3 will have same spec like S4 with more big screen, battery n S pen..thats for sure if following its history..

Flagship Phones from Galaxy series (S 3, Note 2) to get new software features
In an interview with PC Mag, Samsung VP of Portfolio Planning, Nick DiCarlo revealed that most of software features found on the Galaxy S4 will make their way to the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note 2 via firmware updates.
Features like the S Translator, S Health, the new S Voice Drive and basically any new software that you can find in Samsung’s Galaxy S4 and isn’t dependent on the new hardware and sensors should be available to the rest of the company’s high-end devices soon.
Whoa this just blasts iphone 5 away. It looks like apple will have to keep up with their 5s.

The more i look at it i think it's a Note 2 mini on steroids.

I love my note 2 but I'm going to change my wife s3 to s4 which looks better in my opinion. I'll wait for note 3. I hope that size will stay pretty same just screen will be stretched like3 on s4 form 5.5 to max 6!

[Q] Ever get used to the size?

I know this topic was discussed a few years ago but I'd really like some modern input....
I just upgraded from the Verizon Galaxy Nexus and I've been using the Note 3 for about 1.5 days. I did a lot of research into this phone prior to purchasing it but despite checking it out in stores and using the size comparison tool on Phone Arena I was still unprepared for the size when it comes to daily use (I'm using the Ballistic SG Maxx case for use at work which doesn't help). So...
How long does it take to get used to the size of the phone? (I accidentally saw my reflection while talking on the phone and immediately thought I looked a little goofy). I've definitely gotten comments from others about the size and some have thrown the unfortunate "pha..." word around.
That being said, it's not about what other people think of this, it's about how comfortable I am with it. So again, how long to get used to it?
Thanks!
It took me about two minutes to get used to my Note 2, coming from Galaxy Nexus. Note 3 is easier to use, in a lot of ways. But everyone is different. You definitely should be thinking about some possible different options. This device is not for everyone.
Slim Armor
I use the Spigen Slim Armor "Metal Slate" case.
I'd suggest trying a slimmer case to help you get used to the size.
It took me 3 seconds to get used to it using this case.
Are you kidding? It's definitely a two handed device but there is a one handed option in the settings that you might try.
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
It becomes a normal sized phone in no time.
Just turned on my old Droid Charge to grab a file from. Rather than my Note feeling big my Charge felt and looked tiny. My Note is the one that feels "just right" now...

Upgrade to the Note 5 from a Note 3

I was putting off this upgrade, as my previous Note, the Note 3 is working just fine and I was not looking forward to the $250.00 upgrade cost. I got an email from Best Buy with an offer for the upgrade only costing $49.99. I picked it up later that day and spent about 3 hours that night setting it all up.
Thoughts:
1- The new screen is so clear. I thought the Note 3 was great, this new Note 5 is soo much clearer.
2- The camera looks promising. As an ILC owner, I am very particular. While the camera on the Note 3 was good in daylight, don't ask for anything else. The camera on the Note 5 is very promising and even has 4k video.
3- I am not happy about an SD Card slot not being available.
4- Mic Jack being on the bottom is great.
5- The "menu" button being replaced by the "recent" button is annoying. I have one app that has no internal menu tab, and is completely unusable. I much prefer the Note 3's layout, it will take some time to get used to.
Overall a great upgrade, minus the SD Card slot being removed and the soft key change.

I was very impressed with the Note 5 screen as well even being a past Note 3 and Note 4 owner. As far as the sd card slot I had the same feeling but I always have a SanDisk usb/otg combo drive handy so it didn't bother me to much and I miss it but the upgrade is worth it in my mind. I'm not sure but have you tried long pressing the back button soft key to activate the menu in the app you spoke of?

I have been looking at a separate card reader, but seems like a hassle. Why, oh why did you have to remove it. Still, most of my stuff is over the air, so I'll see how it goes.

For getting the menu in the application which do not have 3-dot menu button, long press back button to get the menu out.
I hope i've helped.

Note 7 software features to S7E

So it seems Samsung will start to move N7 features to appease our N7 folks loss. They already announced the always on display. What else are they or do you wish they would bring over.
Vote 1 for me is if it's not already there, blue light filter
I want the entire Grace UX, with all the Note's non-S-Pen features intact.
Samsung updated the always on display, that doesn't mean they will bring the Note 7 features.
The new always on display on the s7 edge isn't as great as the note 7 one. Note 7 can handle all 3rd party apps, the s7 edge can handle music and texts with no interactions.
I really hope they do bring some of the Note 7 features soon. Samsung has a tendency to leave old phones behind with no updates and bring out new phones every couple months. I hate that about Samsung.

From what Ive seen over the years is that they get the update but it's just an update. Not many good features carried over our extremely device specific enhancements. Especially for the older generations.
I understand you want people to buy the new phones but put a little more effort rather than just upgrading to the new Android version
the jump I made from note 4 to note 7 was a awesome upgrade.
this step back to s7e just leaves me feeling kinda meh. I keep grabbing for a pen that's not here.
I have same case as I had for n7 I never realized I used the pen notch In case to rest on finger while holding

You consider flashing the unlocked framewear from 935u?
What's your battery life like? High android OS usage?

I havent had it in a settled down state long enough to give a real answer on battery yet.
Id rather not get into flashing again if possible. I havnt done it in a long time and just wanna use it rather than it be a hobby as it used to be in nexus days

Ditto. I wish the unlocked version worked on ring plus damnit...
Off topic but hypothetically could the s7 edge sprint version flash the 935u firmware and work with sprint or rp I wonder?
I do remember my galaxy nexus days. Even with two extended stock removable bats it barely made a dsy.
I just want a 5" phone with 11 inch tablet dock and detachable full size keyboard ala Asus Padfone with full size batteries in each piece. Heck run windows 10 and Microsofts Android Runtime for app support. With a thinkpad esque docking station w every port possible. One device for everything.
Google messed up the good old days where folks had a droid razr maxx or hd or bionic or photon and had laptop functionality with webtop and lapdocks. Once jelly bean hit the hd didn't work right with webtop.
I have messed with lg flashing too. Maybe there's a flash toolkit for the s7 edge?
Been using the oem keyboard case sometimes. Hesitant to buy the oem qì battery case but since it's cooler now maybe it will play nice. Doubt my keyboard will snap on that oem qi battery case.........

Everyone is talking about the bionic a11 chip and really whats the point of having a speedy chip with slow animation and scrolling, .IOS 11 is really bad. when u use it u really appreciate android much more. Having the IOS slow stock animation in the 8 plus actually makes the S8 look/feel much faster. Apps open faster cause of this. Keeping my s8 maybe until S9
cool story bro
i did this mistake 3 times with iphones

I have a new Note 8 (Just sold the S8+) but bought an Apple Watch series 3 GPS only. I have an old iPhone 6+ to be able to setup the watch. I going to use this watch standalone.
I will not put my SIM back in the iPh6+ just to use the watch.
It was the Galaxy S7 Edge that drew me away from iPhone. I have both iPhone and Samsung phones over the years but remember how much I can't stand iOS and iphones now after using them for watch setup.
UGH! The Note 8 for me is now the best phone ever. My S8+ was fantastic too but I missed the stylus and features that went with it.
