if you haven't "Patched the app" with any tool theres no need to remove odex files.
only time i use "patch app is to remove ads because i really think ads are worst thing that can be in a app"
but make sure you delete something on your sdcard (not necessary file) sometimes it can be to little storage dependin on the app requirements

is that specific app you wanted to install patched (from an earlier version) if so go to /data/app/ and look for the app and it will most likely have a .odex file in it,
since i hope this isn't for "piracy" i'm helping you.

/data/app/com.yourapphere.apk
/data/app/com.yourapphere.odex
Hope that helps to solve your problem
Working
BTW why does /system/app/ have odex files? And whats the difference between odex and apk files?
Sorry I'm still kind of a noob :E

system/app/ has odex files in it because its standard in stock firmwares released by samsung
the difference is that all necesarry data lies in .odex files (in system/app/)
but it can be Deodexed but it will be slightly slower (not much) but as it needs to read the data inside the apk instead of odex file
dont delete any odex file in system app as it will cause the app to crash

hello i5800 users
i was looking for ways to add a reboot option in the power menu but none seem compatible with i5800. AFAIK it is done by installing andoid.policy.jar but how can i do it for i5800? any ideas?
p.s. something like "Hot Reboot" would also be very useful.
thanks in advance
If you have a rooted phone then you can use switch pro widget to reboot. Another free alternate is to use widgetsoid2.x
Just add widget to reboot.
Sent from my GT-I5801 using Tapatalk
my point was i don't want no widgets. i just want to have an option for reboot when i press the power button
Just use AnReboot from the Market, giving you the option to boot into Recovery Mode,as well.
Sent from my GT-I5801 using XDA App
i just use the terminal, su reboot. or su reboot download or whatever kinda reboot i need

Its not about the ROM, I think it can be done by modifying some .jar files or some .xml files.

You can't edit the .jar or XML files without to deodex the rom, and it seems like nobody did that yet...

I just read yesterday what's the matter with "deodexed". Am I right it's about to geht the .odex files back to .jar files? How can that be done?
Can this be done with the "xUltimate"-Tool? I read this was working on the Galaxy Spica...

i think you have to have all the framework and everything in the folder with the apk you want to deodex or so, i am no pro at all, but thats what i read about that...
so any guidance on this one? please?
i am interested in this too!!
i have found a smali files but dont know how must this be modified or applied...
thanks!!
Here is the thread explains steps for adding reboot option. Will try it and port result.

I have tried it out but in the backsmali/smali jar i have downloaded i can find the "classes.dex"...
It was in android.policy.jar. Trying it now... (but dont have the folio here =()
Have u tried it?!!?
My problem is that in the file i got policy.jar does not appear those things that need to be modified, do i need the dex file from folio? how can i get it?
I learned tems that the NOTE 3 does not work deodeks.
I also heard that the application of the recovered Titanium backup does not work
This comes from the fact that the dex files could not move in / data / dalvik-cache
disprove me please?

I really doubt dalvik-cache is encrypted. That would be A LOT of overhead.
Certainly not impossible to deodex either.

tnx for reply, but i made deodex some time, and with zipalign, and without - this can't boot system.
Going only to bootanimation and that's all.
I think framework can't start...
And why after titanium restore app, dex files do not appear into dalvik-cache?

Possible Titanium needs to be updated to work properly on the Note 3. Try manually creating a folder as su in dalvik-cache and create a file.
su
cd /data/dalvik-cache
mkdir test
cd test
touch testfile
If that works, then I would assume something with how Titanium works has changed.
Latest update..

in 4.3 you could just replace the images inside the systemui.apk.
in 4.4 ,at least the battery is no more an image, its code. dont know for the toggles, i´m still on 4.3.
if you have root, make a copy of your systemui.apk, extract it with winrar, 7zip or whatever, navigate to \res\drawable-xxhdpi.
you find the icons there, they can easily be replaced and repacked.
after that, i just overwrite the old systemui.apk and reboot immediately.
if you dont want to do it while the system is running, you can do it from custom recovery(filemanager) or create a flashable zip.
there may be an easier way to change those icons, i dont know.

ah,ok!
if you try the mod, make a nandroid backup first to be safe.
wanam
If you want to change the colors or change the size, dividers, and shape (roundish to squarish) you can do that with Wanam in Xposed.
I have TWRP installed but when looking through what's taking space on my phone via DiskUsage, it says there is a clockworkmod backup folder that's taking up 2.4GB of space. No matter how many times I delete it, it reappears again for no reason.
This is what I mean:

When I delete it, the "Freespace" section boosts up to 3+GB. Is there any way to get rid of this? I think I did something wrong when installing recoveries (I had clockworkmod installed at first but promptly replaced it with TWRP)

I couldn't delete the folder so I went into the folder itself and deleted the files individually. Is there a way to completely delete that folder? Using DiskUsage and the Root Browser on Rom Toolbox Pro doesn't seem to delete it. I don't even use Clockworkmod anymore hmm

If you're rooted you should be able to delete it. See if you can change its permissions to read/write. Just delete the clockworkmod folder and subfolders. Don't try to delete /mnt/shell/emulated

That was odd. It didn't work (even if im rooted or changed the permissions) but when moving it to the sdcard partition, it deleted it from there it was successful. Now, its gone and its contents are gone so I have an extra 2.4gb to use on my phone now. Thank you for the help! It's been like this for months.
I have Nokia 6.1 plus and I want to use official Google documents UI but I have Nokia documents UI which looks very odd with blueish color.i tried getting an apk from apk mirror but apk is not installing .I want the developers just change the package name of the app without touching the entire apk. This will help me to install.
