So I went the route of the TMO unit on ATT. I haven't seen a post regarding the LTE numbers so here are mine. These numbers are from Canton, GA 30114.
Popped my ATT SIM from my SG4. Changed the IMIE number on the Premier ATT Website site. Unlocked the SIM. Changed the APN and BOOM!

If you are a Premier Member/Business Customer they have a spot where you can change the IMEI. If not you can just call them. https://www.wireless.att.com/business/

Same setup as you, signal strength on LTE here in 34608 is 1-2 bars approx -111 db according to signal tester application. I got at best 33 download and 7 up.
Would be interested to know if you find your radio signal slighty weaker than the stock given ATT Note 3? I posted about my comparison and wife's note 3 earlier, she gets better signal than I do.

Can someone in NJ please post their speeds from the Plainfield NJ server. Or whatever server and post the name of the server. I am in southern NJ and I have not gotten above 15mbps during speedtests. It's really weird, because I have friends with GN2s that are getting 40mbps+.

I posted this in the Q&A section as well but seeing as this is a request and not really a question, I put it in here too.
I was wondering if there were any imported G Note owners in the LA California Market area that could test a situation for me...
I just came off of a 1 hour phone call with T-mobile tech support, they have told me that in the LA Market area they ARE INDEED running 1900mhz HSPA+ as of November 2011. They claim that the GNote should be capable of pulling in data on this band with a regular Tmobile SIM and entering the proper APN settings into the phone. I had this confirmed by a level 3 tech support agent and a supervisor, also from level 3 tech support.
If this is true, then we should ALSO be able to receive data on the 1900mhz band once the AT&T roaming agreements go into effect at the beginning of the new year.
Anyone who could verify this by actually using a Tmobile SIM and using the correct APN settings, your info would be much appreciated.
Even if it did work, wouldn't I have to pay outrageuos data roaming fee or no?

You would not... you would be on Tmobiles 1900 frequency, that is what I am looking for here, proof that it works, and Tmobile says it should. Also, when AT&T switches on the promised roaming, you would still have no charges, since Tmobile would have full access as part of the negotiated deal.

I wish they would come out with a list of the areas using the 1900 band. I saw a comment on an article the other day saying that they were getting the 1900 band with T-Mobile in my area (Philly suburbs) but I didn't really believe it as they said they lost it when they drove into the city. Why would it be in the suburbs and not the city?

So I'm currently using the Motorola Atrix on AT&T and I will be selling it for the N4. I was just wondering if I will have any problems using it with at&t or something. My contract ends in 5 months and I will be going prepaid after that. Thanks.
No problems, other than you won't have LTE. You have to set the APN manually as well, before data works. But calling works right off the bat
I wonder if it will work on Medianet, or if At&t will flag them all right away.

I would be surprised if Google didn't add AT&T's APN by default. Surely you aren't correct about this (not that it matters).
You will also need to pay $27 to get your sim changed to a micro sim... (EVEN if you buy it before hand...)

They will replace your SIM for free if you go to an official AT&T store. If you go to an "AT&T Authorized Retailer", then they may or may not do it for free.
Go here: http://www.att.com/storelocator/
Look at locations near you, and go to one that says "AT&T" and not one that says "AT&T Authorized Retailer", and you should be good.

E-X-A-C-T-L-Y. I am on AT&T too, and yup. On a contract, I have unlimited data, and my area gets pretty decent-great reception, so HSPA+ even at 21Mbps will do me well. And the point that it is unlocked, and it being a high spec phone for 299-349 $ blows my mind. Selling my S3 for this! I don't even have LTE in my area, so its al good! Gotta love a nexus! N7100 unlocked works fine on ATT network. I am using it now on Straight talk which is using ATT. Of course no LTE, but Im averaging between 5 and 6 mbps.
Thanks, do you think it is close to 4g or hspa?

I'd imagine any corporate store would have them, but I dunno how they'll handle it. They may try to upsell you all sorts of stuff or tell you you need a special plan if you tell them it's going in a Note 2. I'd just ask for a prepaid micro-SIM.

Here in the Atlanta metro area, we are supposed to have LTE on AT&T, but the phone HSPA connects with only about 1Mb down and 0.1Mb up speed tests
How do we make sure the phone is ready to work on AT&T LTE? AT&T rep says "check settings" ..... ummmmmmm she probably has an iPhone.
Does your current data plan actually support LTE? Have you had an LTE phone previously?
It usually only comes down to 2 things.
1) APN settings. You can verify by going to Settings (she was right, sort of), More (under Wireless & Networks), then Mobile Networks and APNs. You should be using one named AT&T LTE with an APN name of just "phone".
2) Make sure your data plan specifically says 4G LTE for Smartphones. If it doesn't say LTE, you need to get AT&T to change it.
I've used this app in the past on AOSP roms and such, and it works great.

Did you just swap your sim from one phone to another?
I am curious because on another forum LTE is not working.

Had the same issue yesterday when I received the phone. Spent an hour at the att store swapping Sim cards, changing imei numbers and trying different apns. Finally did a factory reset and it worked. We felt stupid. Not sure if thats the case with yours but give it a try.
EDIT
Also came across another thread with the same issue and another person said they had to change the IMEI on the account to a demo model. We also did the same with mine just before the reset. Here's the quoted text.
Solved. I went to the ATT store copied down the IMEI of a demo LTE phone. Called support, gave them the IMEI and that allowed them to add an LTE plan.

Thanks everybody for the replies.
We tried all sorts of APN settings, but there seems to be a larger issue here causing problems on many or all Google Edition S4 phones on AT&T's network, and that is the IMEI numbers of these Google Edition phones register with AT&T as not supporting LTE and therefore AT&T's data plan doesn't have LTE enabled for those devices. Many owners of Google Edition phones are having this issue, and are solving it by getting the IMEI number in the system to register as a demo with slightly different numbers. Not all people with Google Edition phones are having this issue, because they are just using a SIM card from a previous AT&T phone that was already properly registered with LTE capabilities.
Seems like AT&T just isn't ready for these new Google Edition phones, and the customer service reps are not usually tech. savvy enough to figure this out.
I might add that I myself am on the T-Mobile network (this post was for my friend on AT&T), and I generally get LTE speeds in excess of 30Mb down and 20Mb up here at work where I get 3 out of 4 bars of signal. In the AT&T store nearby, I got 2/4 bars signal and my speed tests still beat the pants off the demo model AT&T had, which got 3/4 bars signal. I say this because I am paying only $100/month for unlimited everything on TWO 4GLTE phones with T-Mobile, while my wife was paying $120/month for the same with AT&T for only ONE phone. The way AT&T garners exclusive deals on phone model variants that we should all be able to purchase and jacks up the prices of service to double that of the competitors, it's time for people to jump ship and force them to become more competitive.

I'm in the same boat. My previous phone (Galaxy Nexus) was not LTE-capable, so after getting a new SIM card for my new i9505g, it's only connecting at HSPA speed. Online chat with AT&T rep wasn't very fruitful. They are saying that the phone is showing up as "unrecognized device" and is causing the issue, and there's nothing they can do about that.
I am about to take a trip to an actual store to see if they have more knowledgeable staff there. Any tips or tricks (or super-secret handshakes) I should know about while talking to them?

Yeah put your sim in an LTE capable att device, have them add the imei and you'll get the LTE plan. You should be good after that. Othwerwise, have them add a dummy imei or one from a display phone. Good luck at the store as this will probably blow their mind.:good:

finally got LTE on AT&T
Hey all! I have been scouring the internet trying to get my LTE to work for the past two days I have used every APN I could find as well as downloaded ther notification toggle app to try to enable LTE.
at one point I did have a LTE data plan but I guess not anymore...
anyways I went on the my att.com account and I somehow got to two different technical support chat windows. The first time I gave him my real IMEI# from my I9505G and he couldn't add the LTE plan because it was not recognized as an ATT phone. I then got a friends ATT phone she is no longer using that has/had LTE on it and after telling me it didn't work, then finally on the third time using 'technical support' she didn't ask for any IMEI number at all just told me it worked.
(I think it was the live chat I found on the support section of my AT&T or something) I am only mentioning this because of the three times I was on live chat I got one texct survey this morning (I was on live chat last night 3x)
I gave all 1's out of 10 (worst possible) but mentioned the chat person was friendly and that I was just unhappy with AT&T.
AT&T then called me this afternoon about the survey and asked if I wanted them to fix the issue..... Was this a real question?
I said yes and now I have LTE working great using the default phone APN that was on the phone from the factory.
Hope this helps some ATT users!!!

It is impossible to purchase this phone without activating it on the Verizon network, which means you will need a contract or someone on a Verizon contract willing to activate it for you.
They will not let you buy the phone at retail and walk out of the store without activation. I have already tried, multiple ways. I do, however, have an active AT&T SIM and could perhaps try it. But I'd rather not.
Rumor is that Motorola has AT&T and T-Mobile versions on the way, be patient.
Yes I put my ATT sim in the phone.
It comes up with a warning that the sim card you're using is not from Verizon.
You can dismiss it and notice that you will see AT&T instead of Verizon Wireless at the bottom of the home screen.
The data icon shows 3G but speeds are more like HSPA+ speeds.
Voice and SMS not a problem.
I did not try sending a video in a text though.
APNs can be set and even after I did I did not see a 4GLTE icon.
Interestingly enough when I was done and put the Verizon SIM back in, the AT&T APN settings I put in earlier were completely gone, only the Verizon one was showing.
If TMO has a version that would be the one to get as they most likely will NOT have a locked bootloader AND you can walk out without activating at all, just pay cash or charge it, etc.
I have a friend with a TMO and give the associate that number and name on the account and tell the associate it's a gift.

If TMO has a version that would be the one to get as they most likely will NOT have a locked bootloader AND you can walk out without activating at all, just pay cash or charge it, etc.
I have a friend with a TMO and give the associate that number and name on the account and tell the associate it's a gift.

Att doesn't use the same lte bands, tmobile and Verizon do. I just wanted to make sure it would work. Are you using both vzw and att?

Moto announcement in Brazil November 5th. Rumor mill consensus is it's for international turbo (Moto maxx). I'm waiting.

The APN settings stay with the sim. When I was testing sims on a nexus 4 the settings for each individual sim would disappear/reappear when I unloaded/loaded the sims.
Someone else posted they were getting weak at&t LTE on the droid turbo elsewhere..
I am using the turbo on T-mo
Hey,
I purchased the turbo and popped my t-mo sim in and set the APN for T-mo, and I am getting G, 3G and LTE. I dont seem to be getting HSPA. I get LTE most of the time and normal speeds, like 30MBps. I am really happy to have LTE. I am in minnespolis, so I am not sure which band is coming in...

You would be running lte off of band 2 and 4 since that'd T-Mobile's lte signal. As we speak I'm walking over to a vzw to check out the phone but will probably wait until the end of the month to get it if the international model doesn't have T-Mobile's lte bands

The Turbo will work on TMo, but I think its missing one of the spectrums for 42mbps. So its less reliable than would be expected.

definitely. But be patient, the Int Version is coming for sure. Motorola sent invitation already and it's not rumor. I really near to pull the trigger but after reading several news I decided to wait. Just a couple days....
Hope Turbo will receive good support from developer, if not... then nexus beat them all

I've been reading, but I'm doubtful the international model will have tmobile lte, the only international models that ever do are Sony. As far as the n6, I played with it a few weeks back, the 6 inch screen is definitely too big.

I have been using for 2 days on t-mo and I have yet to see it switch to HSPA. So are you saying it works for you?

Have you checked your data speeds? The droid turbo doesn't have an icon for hspa+ because its a Verizon phone. Might just say 3g. TKe a look at network in the settings and see what it says.

You must be in an area that only has band 17 LTE for AT&T. This phone has band 2 and 4 LTE for AT&T and they are unlocked straight from verizon.
I am very interested in this phone but i will wait for the GSM version that will include band 17.
Since it is a Snapdragon phone I'm sure you can QPST unlock all the band. I did it on my G3 pretty painless but you can really mess some things up if you are not careful

Ok, that makes sense. the icons I have seen are G, 3G, and 4GLTE. I am on LTE most of the time and gotten download speeds of 46Mbs on LTE. When it is on 3G, the network type says UMTS.

Can't unlock if there's not root or unlocked bootloader....

Yes, HSPA+ is really 3G+ same difference. 3G=HSPA .'4G' = HSPA+
But in reality LTE is really the 4th Gen. In the states here they f'ed the naming so they can sound like it's blazing fast....

Has anyone had the chance to test it on other networks? I know it should work on T-Mobile with lte, but I'm debating whether to hold out a month for a international model, in hopes of it having the right lte bands for T-Mobile and no vzw bloat. Or a dev edition. Anyone else on the same boat?

I just bought the phone today and swapped in my Tmobile Nano Sim. Its working perfectly with full LTE in Chicago. I had to add the Apn settings under mobike network to get it to work. Whenever I reboot the phone a notification reminds me that i'm not using a verizon sim. Its easily dismissed. I cant be happier, this is the "Nexus" I wanted all along.
