CyanogemMod not support xperia X8 officially, but soon will be here (I hope)
There is a CM7 for X8:

But it's a nightly release.. I guess a stable or maybe an RC is still so far.. so good..

I'm already using the latest custom rom from CyanogenMod. ICS v07 you can check and download the ROM from their site.
PS: your bootloader must be unlocked.
just follow the steps and whoa! you also got the faster ROM for X8/W8

I release MIUI V4 on Weekend (think Sunday night)!
Stable Version with WIFI/CAMERA FIX and and and...i hope Feralabs Kernel will work

I am sure that a stock rom would not work right... so a tweaked one was better
btw i used mihome on my cm9.1 by fera and its the best for this rom... so im lookin forward, gonna be a dilemma to decide between those two

Some time ago I found this rom, which works fine in our U8800-51.

It has some beauty animations in menu options, fine font, 3g works, bluetooth stop working after a while I don't know why.
Everything else works fine, it even has toggle buttons.
Base band 404020
As usual, you must backup IMEI and APN before flashing this one.
This rom is for a U8800PRO, but it works in our U8800-51
Give it a try!
Known bug, backlights doesn't work.
Best for backup/restore previous rom: LINUX
BACKUP #dd if=/dev/sdX of=u8800-51.DATE.img bs=512
RESTORE #dd if=u8800-51.DATE.img of=/dev/sdX bs=512
X=system gives a letter to this, if no other drive connected, it usually is "b" so "sdX" should be "sdb", check it with "mount" command.

Just flashed the rom, wifi works great ..seems to run nice and quickly.. love it!! Thanks.

I found your googlecode web after download the 4.0 aurora rom but it doesn't work, the one which also works fine is your Aurora_4.0_4.0.4_mod.zip rom.

Both ROMs are based (approx 6 months ago) on Dzo's aurora but Popaura is combined with Popcorn v6... maybe files from Popcorn work on -51, i don't know :/
I forget which files I took from which rom, it was so long ago, i am sorry.
I have to say that I am not a developer, I'm just "playing" with ROMs, test it and publish here on XDA. The fact that these versions work (more or less) on the -51 is just pure coincidence...
Shendu has an entirely different basis.

popaura rom
I had an app crashing on popaura rom (furby app for my daughter) so I Installed the aurora 4.0 4.0.4 rom and it works great now.
