Easiest way would be: Go into recovery and make a full backup, transfer the backup to the new SDcard and restore it from there.

to enter recovery mode keep pressed home+power buttons while device is off.. don't let them go until you are in recovery... if you use CWM simply go in "backup and restore" and choose "backup"... in TWRP should be something similar, but as i haven't been using TWRP for months i can't be more specific sorry...

This would be the second time I ask you to use the Search feature.
Come on! How hard could it be to search how to go into recovery, or how to make a nandroid back up?
How did you install your ROM when you don't know how to get into recovery? (just wondering)
To go into recovery:
Boot up MAGLDR's menu > Choose option "AD recovery".
That's recovery. To back up, choose >backup and restore > then backup.
To restore, the same thing but select restore instead of backup (duh).
Edit:
@lukes91 He's not using cLK.

[Q] Why doesn't Clockworkmod replace stock recovery?

First of all I'd like to thank all of you guys helping us noobs to get the best out of our phones.
To the problem, I can't get the clockworkmod to replace the stock recovery. I've tried to install older versions with rom manager but it doesn't work. Does amon ra work for legend? Any other ideas that I can try?
I'm using azure nightly 0927

what are you trying to accomplish?
I want to be able to boot to a recovery where I can apply a backup. As it is now I get to the stock recovery screen when I push recovery in the bootloader.
Sent from my Legend using XDA App
Because the recovery partition is locked at all times and we need to wait for an engineering hboot or unrevoked forever to write to it.
Once this is accomplished you will be able to write a custom recovery image.

Are there any benefits in a custom recovery image, besides the HTC bootscreen?

Oh, thanks. But there's no option that lets me apply the backups I've done. Only the apply update.zip... Does that mean I can rename my latest backup to update.zip?

update.zip should be containing ClockWorkMod, so called fake flash. Flashing that should bring you the recovery screen with more options...

[Q] install clockwork recovery mod without a reset

hi guys.
this is my first time writing here so...ummm... hi
i'm trying to install clockwork mod but i dont want to delete my current rom
(settings, apps, downloads)
right now i have cdj cyanogen gingerbread NAND rom on my HD2
and i have MGLDR 1.13
is there a way to install clockworks without deleting anything?
i tried to search for an answer here in the forums and in google but found nothing
please help
Nope no way of installing cwm without wiping system. You can however backup apps and such that you need with titanium backup.
Hi one solution is to back up in clockwork and then copy the backup on SD card and computer. Once reflashed the cwm and you can then restore the whole Rom thru advance backup restore menu in cwm

If you have a spare SD card you can just use that for CWR and if you want to go back to your previous NAND ROM just flash it again, then reboot with your old SD card in your phone that you used when you where using the .daf NAND ROM. That's assuming you're using Data2SD though.

Try Titanium Backup... It works pretty well and you can batch-backup all your apps and data...
is there a way to install zip files (rom mods) other then clockwork ?

[Q] Backup HD2 Nandroid?

What is the best way to back up Nandriod on an HTC HD2? I have an aversion to trying most of the methods because they seem to all be specifically tailored to Native Android phones.
I take it that you have MAGLDR and Clockwork installed... why not just backup using the AD Recovery option in MAGLDR 1.13 and then choosing 'Backup and Restore'. Then just follow your nose.
So to clarify;
ClockworkRecoveryMod isn't its own ROM?
Nor will it override my current rom if I installed the rom before CRM?
You need to wipe your current rom to install clockwork. Flash clockwork from Magldr "usb flasher" then access clockwork with "boot ad recovery" option on magldr. Once in clockwork, install roms in zip format from SD card. You can also do full backup/restore and partition SD for sd-ext using clockwork.

I am also interested to know how to do it
Ironically the program in Clockwork is actually called 'Nandroid Backup' lol. It's not got to doo with HD2 and NAND Android though.
Basically you can't flash CWM and keep your current DFT ROM. It'll erase it as when you have clockwork you don't install ROM's by DFT flasher, you do it by .zip files on the phone.
Basically if you want to backup your settings and apps use a program like 'Titanium Backup' or 'MyBackup Pro'. Mybackup is my personal favourite, but it's up to you. It saves to your SD card so you can keep the file stored on your PC incase you need to back up.
Right Scellyyy and I also suggest to backup the SD card on the PC because for some ROM's you need to format or partition the SD card.
So if the Originial ROM is backuped you are now able to restore all the data.
1. Backup with Titanium or so
2. Copy whole SD card to PC
3. Be sure to have the actual installed ROM
4. Install Mag, Cwm and the NAND ROM of your choice with the certain tutorial for that
5. If you don't like it: Just flash the old ROM
6. Copy SD data back
7. Restore backup and your done

When i choose "AD Recovery" i get the message:"No boot source"
you have to flash clockworkmod recovery aka cwm. it's basically a separated partition for nandroid.

Flash cwm recovery again from fastboot.
Download the right stock rom for your device from here.
Go mounts&storage, format everything there.
Go back and choose wipe > wipe dalvik cache.
Copy the rom to your sdcard via mounts&storage > mount usb storage, make sure that /mount sdcard is active (also in mounts&storage). Unmount.
Install zip from sdcard, choose the rom you just copied.
Restart, done.

Do you mean by CWM?
If you do then it is not stock anymore is it?

Do a nandroid backup. You don't need to have root for that.
| Mobile Message
CWM
Backup:
1. Reboot into recovery
2. Select "backup and restore"
3. Select "backup" or "backup to external sdcard" depending on where you want your backup saved (recommended to keep at least one backup, preferably stock, on the internal sdcard in case of external sdcard malfunction)
4. Select "Reboot now" to reboot the phone
*note: the backup can be found in the "clockworkmod" folder (either on internal sdcard or external depending on chosen save location) where you can rename the backup to something you will remember rather then a series of numbers. DO NOT INCLUDE SPACES WHEN RENAMING! including spaces in the backup name will cause you to get the MD5-mismatch error when trying to restore the backup at a later time*
TWRP
1. power phone off
2. boot into recovery by holding the home + volume up + power; when phone vibrates release the POWER button only and continue holding home and volume up till recovery screen loads
3. Select backup
4 select back to "external sd card" or "backup
5. enable compression and change name of your backup if you like (gives you smaller backup sizes)
6. swipe the arrow bar and let the backup process run

I know how to use cwm and twrp to create a nandroid backup, but i need to flash them first and so the rom is not stock anymore. Does a stock rom comes with cwm or twrp - No, so after i flash cwm or twrp it is not stock anymore.
I guess what you are saying is that tgere is no way of backing up a FULLY stock rom. Correct?
Thanks.

Hi ,
A nandroid does not take the recovery into consideration.
So, you will still get a "Stock " image when you make a nandroid.

Hi,
Yes.
+1 for wanting to know if there is a way to image a factory S4, as is, without rooting or installing a different recovery.
