Do you root the g2 first, then install twrp or cwm? Or do you twrp or cwm first, then root?
Thx

Actually, I'm sorry, I just saw a recovery thread that said no root required my bad...I would assume you CAN root before. But just read instructions in the thread

might want to look thru the root threads. It will tell you everything you need to root.

Search. This topic has been discussed ad nauseam.
The topic was researched before posting. The only advice I found for an unrooted decice was to uncheck notifications under app info. Everything is grayed out in my app info box.

You need to be rooted to block the update, or never put in your SIM and turn off wifi.
Thanks for the links. You were correct in this topic already being discussed in much detail. Appears I beat a dead horse by creating this thread. Hoping the update doesn't install before I can root on friday.

Can anybody confirm that twrp will install with no issues using goomanager? Or should i attempt to learn enough adb to install it?

Devs are requesting not to use flashify. It has caused some instances of bootloops. Occasionally probably from user error, it writes to the wrong area. Just be warned.

I don't think goomanager works. Last I knew if you try it says no recovery found.

You could maybe try freegee app on the play store. It says it supports this phone. I haven't heard of anyone using it yet. Maybe hop on irc and ask

i manually found the file in goomanager and downloaded. Im just scared to to try from there. I cant afford a brick right now.
Goo will download it but it won't flash. I downloaded with goo and flashed with Flashify. Just make sure you're doing the right steps.

Flashify works fine
Tmobile variant here
Some devs werent promoting flashify because people were flashing the twrp by using "Boot image" not "recovery image". Using the recovery image flash works just fine.
Works
Flashify works perfectly on T Mo LG G2. As noted, use flash recovery function.
So guys. I've got a Samsung Galaxy S4 i337 running mk2 4.3 firmware. Is it possible to downgrade my firmware to run miui or cyanogenmod seeing as they don't work on mk2?
If so links/instructions please?
Thanks!

No reasoning or anything just no?

No with every upgrade it triggers something in the phone that stops you from downgrading

Not being rude but you have a few threads going asking some day one and two questions.
Read the sticky threads and the Q&A threads before you hose your phone.
Your questions have been asked and answered several times, you just need to read up and learn what you can and can't do with your current firmware. Good luck.
To someone who is just stock rooted not recovery what is suppose to be in data/local/tmp. I had rooted and installed twrp with Loki and now what to go back to full stock. I was able to adb the stock recovery image to data/local/tmp, and I want to delete all the other stuff that is not suppose to be there. Can I delete all the Loki files?

More information is needed. What firmware was it on? If you have an mdk for instance you don't wanna flash a knox build, etc. Give as much info as possible.

Would not let me edit it so I replied. Mdk is a Verizon build. But the point is the same. Without more info you might get bad info.
