I just got my ATT N3 today, and after a few hours, I noticed the screen wouldn't turn on. So then I rebooted and noticed that it says "custom" with the unlocked padlock symbol!
How on earth is that possible? I suspect something fishy from my micro SD card. During that time it started to not recognize my card.
Anyone else having this problem?

Basically when I restart my phone, I get a pop up that says my Sd card is damaged but when I go to settings and mount it, it works fine until I do another reboot. The one annoying thing that happens is it wipes anything that was saved from my phone like DCIM picture and music etc but everything else is still there(that I saved from my pc).
Any idea what's causing it?

What phone and which vendors SD card?
Didn't I see that Sandisk has a bad batch recently of 32 GB cards?
Also have you tried reformatting?

It's a HC 64gb card running on SGS4 phone. I've tried reformatting off my pc and phone but to no avail. It worked fine on my Note 2

Do you have another card to try? Since its a new device and it worked on your old phone you need to rule out the phone as the issue.

I guess it's one of those annoying things. I'll get a new Sd card, might be the easiest solution

So I've had this thing for about a week now and the growing list of complaints is still mounting. Now I have an issue where almost all my apps, only those on the sd card, need to be redownloaded. The icon for them is just the Android guy with a little sd card on the lower right of the icon. When I touch it it takes me to Google play and says it's not installed. Anyone experiencing the same? I have reinstalled a few and when I did it seems my info is still there. No idea why it happened.

Have you tried reformatting the sdcard with the phone (not with windows)?

Was going to until I noticed that when I reinstalled the apps my data was still there so I didn't want to risk losing all my data

Is the card mounted OK? - does it keep unmounting itself? Could be messing up the file system but not actually destroying data., which would indicate a card problem, tried testing the card also? - Try another SD card if you have one, or alternatively format it via the phone and lose the data, then redownload.
Mounting seems fine, actually unmounted and remounted a few times with same results. Haven't tried testing it, what's a good way to do so? I guess an idea would be to transfer app off card back to phone and reformat and see what happens.

The problem is if you have an sd card. Guessing there's fault where it's taking to long to read it. I've had no problem with this. Got a 32gb sd card today. It's a samsung class 10 one too. Went to restart my device . Got stuck on start up. Tried again. But this time when it got stuck I removed the sd card and instantly it went to lock screen. Weird fault but if you have an sd card only way around it is to take it out while its booting up. Hope this is to help to anyone. Any comments or similar thoughts?

Did you accept an update while the SD card was inserted in your N10.1-14? It can randomly change the device to "custom" status which could cause issues with certain DRM protected content. Rebooting (maybe twice) corrects the issue. Later Samsung devices have occasionally corrupted SD cards too. I'm using two 64GB SanDisk cards in my N3 and SM-P601 and haven't had any issues even after accepting updates. It's kind of "spin the wheel."
I have no issue booting up with my 64gb Sandisk inserted.
You should format that card again perhaps.
Ok I've played around a bit more trying to reboot it about 4 or 5 times but it gets stuck In a loop. Flashes the lock screen for a couple seconds then be to the the start up samsung logo. It will keep doing this over and over again. Took the sd card out... worked straight a away. Weird!! An y ideas?

Ok I downloaded an app called sd booster and I selected for my internal storage to be selected at boot up. This seems to have solved it. Lost everything on my sd card though and it is having trouble reseting it

You have too many apps moved to sd card

Try to format the card to exFat.

My phone was telling me that I didn't have a sim card inserted. I rebooted the phone and everything was fine. A few minutes later it happened again. I pulled the sim and reinserted it. It is working now but I don't know for how long. Anyone else have this issue?

Try cleaning the contacts maybe... It may or may not help. Regardless, you can get a new SIM card through Verizon. Just walk into a store and explain what's going on. And they can swap it for you right there.

Had the same exact thing happen to me a week ago...it was when I was trying multiple times to get isis working. After taking out the SIM and reseating it, everything has been fine since.
So far I have not had a problem since I reseated the sim card. Hope it was just a fluke.

My s5 is a completely stock UK model on Tesco/O2. It's had a couple of system updates.
I last did one a couple of days ago and now the phone won't recognise the sd card. It initially flashed the message "sd card unexpectedly removed" (or similar).
I've tried restarting, removing sd, restarting then putting card in. All to no avail.
The card works fine in my son's s4.
Any ideas please?

Have you backed up and reformatted card?
I'm having another problem, in that I can't get music to my SD card!
Have you got music on your external SD card?
No music. Got a few films and work pdfs.
I'm wondering if anybody else has any problems after recent updates

Just remembered something. When I tried to move a couple of movies to the sd using ESFILEEXPLOR it wouldn't let me. I managed to move them with the stock file explorer though.
I was reading another thread about compatible sd cards and it seems there are a few people with issues, mainly caused after transferring music to the card as opposed to leaving it in the system memory

I heard there were a few problems with this stock update and I was trying to avoid it because my phone was fine, no problems with really anything. It updated when I connected to WiFi... oops. Now it won't read my SD card and pretty much every time I unlock my phone, it tells me to check my back cover because it thinks it's not all the way attached. Realllyyyy annoying and I have no idea how to fix this.
Edit; I'm on an att s5
The warnings wont go away unfortunatly but had no sd card issue....if anything after update my screen was unresponsive till i pulled the battery
